Jess nodded, giving him a soft kiss on the cheek before laying back down and resting her eyes a bit. At least if her parents insisted on being class A gits, she still had Peter, who wold hopefully not turn out ot be anything like her father had been.

Peter packed their clothes as neatly as he could. It wasn't saying a lot, but he figured that it would do. Then, when Jess was certainly asleep, he took out a piece of parchment and began to painstakingly compose a letter to his soon to-be-parents-in-law. He explained that it would mean a great deal to his family, and Jess, if they made a small appearance at the wedding and offered their blessings. At ten, he made his way to the Owlery, sent it off, and returned to the Heads' Room to wake Jess.

By the time Peter returned, Jess was already awake again, lying on her back and staring at the ceiling as she plucked absentmindedly at the necklace Peter had given her. She sighed every now and then, her attention only drawn from the fixed point above her when she heard the portrait swing open. "Where were you?"

Peter shrugged. "The train leaves in about an hour. We should get going now. Is everything that you wanted in here?" asked Peter, avoiding the question entirely and propping open Jess's bag.

Too tired to further enquire about Peter's whereabouts, she looked through her bag before nodding and closing it up again. "I want to bring Darts though. We haven't talked much lately." The tawny owl's cage was empty on her desk by the window. "Can you fetch him from the Owlery for me?"

Peter nodded. "Sure." Darts wasn't particularly affectionate towards him, but it was only an owl, after all. And it wasn't going to peck his eyes out. "Anything else you'd like? I could drop by the kitchens...you hardly ate a thing at the feast."

Jess shrugged. "It's alright. I can get something on the train." Despite the fact that she was keeping her weight up, she was still trying to at least control herself and not use the eating for two excuse to totally let herself go.

A few witches and wizards glared at the two of them as they settled into their own compartment, under the impression that they were running away. "I think the train takes about two hours to get there," remarked Peter, looking absently out the window.

"Alright." Jess curled up next to him, rubbing her stomach absentmindedly as she looked up at his face. "Peter?"

Peter looked at her and smiled. "Yeah?" he asked. He shifted, thinking that maybe Jess was uncomfortable as is.

Jess watched him for a moment before speaking. "Are you glad that we're getting married? Even though people talk about us?"

Peter was taken by surprise. "Yes. Yes, of course I am," he answered, without hesitation. "In a few months, we'll be married and have a child. That's nothing unusual. They won't have anything to talk about. And besides, we were probably going to get married anyway, weren't we? It's as though we've gotten a bit of a head start. That's all."

"I don't know..." Jess frowned, looking down at her stomach, which was currently being pummeled from the inside. "It's just that we're so young, and now it's like we're being tied down and unhappy just because I botched that contraception spell I had tried."
