AD :: confused Hmm... headphone jacks aren't things you could just buy out on a radioshack and fix it yourself. best bet: get a creative labs ZEN Micro player (4GB-6GB, FM / FM recorder & more) ^^; and that's just the tip of the iceberg. ._.

As for what I'd recommend, it all falls into what your demands for an MP3 player is... and read every bit of info before purchase. wink

*hugs Deuxi* ^^; Ryuu is gone at this moment... of with some old friends of his... >>;

*yawns*

AD - Of course we have a prime minister, presidents are for countries that decided they didn't want to be part Britian.

Sucks about your DJ. My mp3 player suffered a similar fate during my move. (it got crushed and the screen, and the play/pause button broke)

Lang - Yeah, I'm brave, at the moment I have 20 torrents going on three computers. And my b*****d of a computer is downloading manga off of IRC. I can't really download anymore torrents, my internet connection starts to suffer and it hits dial-up speed.

What's with everyone moving to Canada? The Canadian Prime Minister's name by the way is Paul Martin, it's not widely known for the simple fact that he wasn't elected. Well he has been now, but it's a minority government... and that means nothing gets done, which is probably a good thing.

(Yes, you learn a lot of politics when you're a history major.)

As for the lack of weapons, most people I know make their own.

AD> Oh, you're going to be needing to finding a new place to host IC after Sept 16th. I'm not going to be renewing it because at the moment I have more important things to do with my money. ^^;
PostPosted: Thu Aug 04, 2005 8:38 pm

*sigh* There goes $200. I can't live without my music, though, so it was a necessary sacrifice. Still...

Shiro - Yeah, I was already looking into that one. I chose it a while ago; I was just waiting for the right time. Apparently, that's now.

Akahoshi - xd That makes sense.

Aww, that sucks. What kind was it?

Seth - I would rather nothing get done rather than all sorts of wrong things getting done...

All right. Thanks so much for hosting it for the time you did. heart

Ryuu - It's in Baltimore, Maryland!

no ******** way gonk gonk I was there just a couple of days AGO!!!! NO FAIR!!!! *dies*

Lang // RyuuHO xd somehow I like that. Hey is it true your doing a commish for a scarf? are sexy pixels your worst weakness? blaugh

AD // yeah, having a domain makes me feel like I should actually go and start updating everyday xp but even so, there are other domain kinda names that are free and are pretty good, like tk.com or cjb.net :3 ever tried thinking of using one of those? tk has popups which sucks but cjb has a little "ad line" at the top of the page which doesnt bother much.

HEY I'd like to suggest also eccentrix.com, where memai and me have our sites, its free and pretty good. you also get 50MBs and enough bandwidth for all your friends to read IC. and the webmaster interface is very friendly biggrin

Deuxi! // mrgreen ninja heart heart heart domokun check your text messages razz

Koji // how can someone forget breathing xd I guess breathing is not in your biological function priorities, or maybe you were begging for some CPR is it? rofl

AD> How big is IC? Maybe I could host it.

Koji> *adds that to the databse of evidence of "Why Everyone is Dumb"*
PostPosted: Fri Aug 05, 2005 6:30 am

Koji - xd !!!

Ryuu - I absolutely cannot afford webhosting right now. It's simply not an option. Thanks for the advice, though.

Alucard - Well...it's MOSTLY text - at least, that's what all the bandwidth usage is. There are all the wallpapers and other images, of course, but I don't think those are accessed too often. Basically, anything under www.ginnythegreat.com/IC would need to be hosted. The biggest files are Shiro's IC login screens (which are currently hosted on my school server before they realize I should have been kicked off months ago) and the .doc of IC1. There's no direct linking from IC (I THINK. There shouldn't be, anyway; nothing lends itself to sigging).

AD - Well, several other people have already volunteered, but I'd be happy to host IC on my domain. (I'm completely ignorant as to how to set you up with an account on it, though, but I'm sure we could work something out... sweatdrop ) My own site there has been abandoned for so long that it'd be nice to have an actually legitimate site on there again. xd

Koji - That's just... ugh. I don't have the words for commenting on something like that.

Song - Chiggers! Evil! gonk

Oh yeah, and for those who are interested in my pictures of Japan... I'm getting help from one of my friends with setting up a gallery program on my own webspace, because there are way too many pictures to upload them all to Photobucket. I'll let you guys know how it progresses.

AD> Do you have any idea how much bandwidth you use? The deal I have is 1 dollar per gig and my own page is quite small right now so I don't think it'd be a huge problem but it'd be nice to have that info. But like Iyou said I have no idea (yet) how to give you a separate account so for a while it'd just be you sending me the text and me putting it up.

Oh, and you might like to know that the epilogue of IC1 is missing.

Iyou> Yay, I was wondering when the rest of your pics were gonna show up 3nodding

Iyou - Thanks for the offer. I'm beginning to wonder if I could somehow split it all up so that each person's webspace gets a little usage, but no one would risk being charged for going over their limit. As in, one person hosts the .doc of IC, another hosts half of the wallpapers, another hosts the other half, etc. The story itself is in html format without images, so those files are of negligible size. I'll think on it. whee

Alucard - Ah, I see. Well, I'm not going to ask you to help host, then, since yours doesn't have a preset amount or cap on its usage. I would hate for something to happen and you've suddenly got a $300 bill.

Might as well say this to all you internet people. If you get an email from PayPal, claiming that your account has been limited due to suspicious activity, don't click on any of the links. I know you're not stupid, but this scam was EXTREMELY well set up. I know that people like our parents, our dear, stupid, lovable fools of mortals, would fall for it. The email looks frighteningly authentic and thanks to a security glitch in IE, the hyperlinks seem to lead to PayPal pages. In fact, the info request page itself is listed at PayPal's domain in your browser. So just be aware. Clicking on the links might earn you spyware, but it won't hack into your comp. The real issue is the fact that it takes you to a form page which asks for your name, address and credit card info, all in the style of a realistic PayPal account signup. I googled it and was impressed by the screenshots, honestly. Blasted geeks.

AD> Ok, let me know if I can host/mirror part of anything. What else do you have in mind, something free like geocities?

I don't...have anything else in mind at the moment, actually. I'm not sure something like Geocities would work with the Div format the IC page is in. It might try to put an ad in each layer or some crap.
PostPosted: Fri Aug 05, 2005 11:17 am

AD - Okay. Let me know if I can do anything. whee I actually only pay for my domain name - a friend of mine has some connections and scored a free account for me with some people who own their own servers. He himself has an account (also free) and probably uses at least over 500 megs plus the bandwidth needed to access all that stuff for his site, so I doubt I'll be encroaching on their hospitality if I host IC on my account.

On a completely different note... wtf?! Girl avatars are allowed to go running around topless with their unmentionables hanging out now? Why?

Iyou - That sounds awesome. o.O Lucky you.

I''m at work right now, so I don''t have access to the IC stuff. I don''t really know how much space it takes up at the moment, but I''ll check as soon as I get home. Plus, apparently there are dead links. Tch. Inattentiveness strikes again.
