"I suppose." He needn't know what was going on her mind at the moment. Drying her eyes, Jess sat up straight and looked at him with her usually attractive pout. "I think she's hungry now."

Peter grinned. "So is her father," he answered. Her face never, ever ceased to be breathtaking. "I'll be right back," he said, standing up. "What do you want to eat?"

"Ummm..." Jess thought for a moment, rubbing her stomach as though it was a magic lamp that would tell her what she wanted to eat. "Anything sweet, but that isn't candy...not quite sure what that leaves..."

Peter raised his eyebrows. "Er...fruit, perhaps?" he suggested, finally giving up on trying to figure out Jess's obscure cravings.

"I suppose. But no bananas. I don't want anything that's all mushy like that. I wonder if they have pumpkin pasties..." She thought again for a moment before speaking. "And maybe some cranberry juice if they have any. But not if it's Broomhilda's brand because that's tart and I don't want anything sour or bitter." She gave him a somewhat shy sort of smile. "If it's not too much trouble, that is."

Peter blinked. "Pumpkin pasties and cranberry juice? That's no trouble at all," he answered. He, personally, detested both of them, but he figured he could get some food for himself. He nodded once more to Jess and left the compartment.

Jess smiled lightly to herself as he left. If he was going to be her servant for the reaminder of this pregnancy, she might as well live it up. She pushed herself up and went back to their compartment, pulling out a pillow from the rack above the seats and resting on it while she waited for him to return.

OOC: Aw. What happened to nice Jess?
Peter did come back, with his arms full and his pockets empty. There was a sandwich and a few pouches of candy, and a nice big cup full of cranberry juice and a large bag of pumpkin pasties. "Hope this is enough," he told her, setting his things down.

((she got sleepy))
Jess opened her eyes as she heard Peter's voice. "What now? Oh..." She sat up and looked at what he had brought. "Hmmm..." She started rooting through the food, pulling out the pumpkin pasties. "I never much cared for these, but they look really good all of a sudden."

Peter nodded, already starting his sandwich. He swallowed. "That's good. Eat up." He set down his food momentarily, almost afraid to ask. "Everything's fine now, isn't it? You're not having doubts again?"

Jess shook her head as she nearly inhaled her pumpkin pasty. She took a drink of cranberry juice to clear her throat. "No, I'm alright. I think it was just those bloody hormones."

OOC: You want Mr. or Mrs. Keyes?
Peter smiled, at the remainder of the trip passed by rather enjoyably.

((i'll take papa bear))
"Here comes their train." Mr. Keyes stood next to the platform, watching as the train approached. He looked over at his wife with a small grin. "Ready, Grandma?" He had been teasing her for weeks with the grandma comments, ever since Peter informed them that he had gotten Jess pregnant.

Mrs. Keyes ignored her husband, her sharp eyes scanning the windows for signs of her son and the very pretty, very condescending young girl that he'd brought home last summer. She didn't like Jess, and there was no way that she would have allowed Peter to marry her otherwise, but Peter had gone ahead and slipped through an unforeseen loophole. "There they are," she announced, giving her husband's hand a squeeze as Peter's silohuette stood up and stretched.

"Right you are." Mr. Keyes saw Jess stand up with his son, momentarily losing his breath as he saw that Peter had in fact been telling the truth when he told them of the circumstances. He watched as Jess hugged and kissed Peter, in a way that was nothing like the way she usually went after him. "Now remember, be nice. She may be a Slytherin, but she is still going to be part of the family." He clapped a hand on his wife's shoulder and waved to the couple as he saw them exit the train. "Over here, kids."
