Aww, Term Papers are fun! ^_^ (Of course... This coming from the only person in her Brit. Lit. class that would much rather write a 4 page, front and back, essay on the significance of Brave New World to modern day society, than do a two page mulitple choice test... I get angry looks when I suggest such things so the Worley-Bird as we call her gives me the option cause I'm the best student... *cough* And the only person with an A, let alone over 100% *cough*)

Zetan Koukon_Tenshi Zetan maggie_mae not nearly as many gigs as melly has. the majority of it is like, styx and the moody blues and similar artists in that vein. The "majority" certainly isn't any one "vein." There's also plenty of Queen, Weird Al, Vanessa Carlton, Barenaked Ladies... not to mention all the techno and metal. The Styx, Moody Blues, Toto and such are just the parts you notice because you seem to dislike them most. Not that you enjoy the metal at all, either, or the techno for that matter. Just because you don't like my music doesn't mean it's not diverse. Maggiedoes not techno? O.XShe seems to have something against music not created using "real instruments." eek

Mine was on Anthem, which I have been doing for a few weeks now, but this weekend was "full-throttle mode"... Cuz it's due today...

Koukon_Tenshi SugarBeat_Angel "Oh Brave New World... Oh Brave New World That Has Such People In It!" Rings a bell... gonk It is used a lot in shows and movies now-a-days... But it is the phrase John The Savage keeps repeating when he leaves the Indian Reservation and goes into the "Brave New World" which is completely different than the society he was used to. He was used to the natural Indian society... People still giving birth... Still having mothers and fathers... And stuff that today, is really natural to us. Then he meets two outsiders visiting the Reservation... (Bernard and Lenina...) And Bernard decides to take John and his mother (*gasp* For mother is a truly obcene word... AND, John's mother is a white woman FROM the outside. She was not supposed to be able to get pregnant, but...) back to his world. John is completely disgusted that there are no longer such things as mothers or fathers... All children born in tubes. No literature... For most books are forbidden. Everybody takes Soma, a highly potent drug... And is expected to take Soma. And all the people (Young children included...) are more or less, whores... This is the "Brave New World" of which he speaks and is very upset with it. It is an interesting book when you take the time to get into it. You might read it next year in your English class... If not, I'm sure your local library has it. Aldous Huxley is the author.
