Jeff shook his head trying to clear his mind. "Alright...alright. Can we get to the apartment now?"

Katrina tossed and turned but couldn't stay asleep. She finally gave up and wandered out to the living room only to find Ally sleeping. She smiled to herself and sat down on the floor next to the couch.

Jeff sighed but he didn't protest. His mind wasn't going to be on the road the rest of the drive there.

Yakov slid over to the drivers side and started pulling his pants back on. "You owe me hand cuffs. Those were new."

Jeff looked down at his wrists. The broken handcuffs dangled from them. He'd managed to cut one of them with the handcuffs but it was already almost healed. He smiled as he watched it. It felt strangely comforting, like an old friend coming home to visit after many years.

Yakov leaned over and kissed Jeff on the cheek. "On second thought, you don't owe me handcuffs. I kind of like them like that." He started the car and headed back to the apartment.
