It's been so long that I can't remember for sure. It was in the mid or late 1980s when they first started bringing manga out in English (and flipped to the American style).
It was probably Mai the Psychic Girl from Viz, but might have been Outlanders or Appleseed from Dark Horse Comics.
The first manga that I collected in Japanese were Urusei Yatsura and Ranma 1/2. They really messed them up badly in the English translations.

I think the very first manga book that I
read was probly the Sailor Moon series. ...Goodbye my HOPELESS dream...

Hmm, well when I was
little I read small comics of Pokemon, Sailor Moon,
and Digimon, but my first full-fledged
manga was Yu Yu Hakusho.
My friend's brother had the first
two volumes and he lent them to me.. I basically
became totally hooked and went on a pretty
big manga craze after that.

My first Manga was Ranma 1/2 in 8th grade. I loved it and still do to this day.

Hmm... I would have to say... My first EVER manga was.... I think.... ((can't look @ bookshelf now due to me not being at actual home right now xDD at mothers home o.e))
Yeah... I'm pretty sure it was my .hack//Legend of Twilight manga.... >.<
