His purplish-gray tipped paws padded along quietly, his ears swiveling around to catch even the slightest note of sound. His dark magenta-schemed eyes looked over the gray and rocky land, not seeing a single other in sight. A bloodstained grin appeared, along with the slight wag of a greenish-gray tail.

"Perfect...", he sneered, padding ahead some more. "They'll never know what hit them... Hehe.." The bloodstained grin only widened, the purplish-gray tipped paws continuing to stride forward.

Today had been alright. It hadn't been drastically boring, nor had it been terribly exciting. It was a pretty peaceful day, but still, it had it's small shares of little annoying things that had gone on today. For example, a stray lion cub had somehow wandered into the Graveyard. Instantly, a gray female hyena, only known as Kailasa, had quickly tended to it, taking it out of the dirty lands and back to it's home. Sure, if she was ever caught for that, she'd be bit pretty hard, but she didn't care. It had been the right thing to do, and that's all that really mattered.

Of course, other things had happened, but that was the highlight of her day. Right now, things were very quiet and peaceful, and for once, Kai couldn't of been happier.

Everything continued to be clear. While that was great and all, it was also kind of strange. Since when was the Graveyard so unkempt with it's guarding? The only thing this male could think of was that most of the hyenas were sleeping, or maybe out hunting. Pathetic creatures. They couldn't hunt well, even though their lives did depend upon it. If anything, they decided to wait for the nearly dead animals to wander their way over to this rat hole, eating their lazy fill as the animal decayed away.

"Vile creatures... I'll be glad when they're completely gone by those lions... Then nothing will stand in my way of getting what I want." The male hyena sneered some more, scoffing a bit afterwards. What ever hatred he had for these hyenas was very, very deep.

Rolling over in the dirt, Kai made her gray pelt rather dingy-looking. She wasn't sure why, but she did it anyhow. Maybe she was combating those evil fleas and ticks that loved to attack her. Who knew. All she knew was that the dust from the dirt settled quite nicely onto her coat, and it was sort of cooling at the same time. It felt good, in an odd sort of way.

While she rolled herself over once more, her head turned towards the entrance of the Graveyard. There, catching him in an instant, Kailasa saw a male hyena. He was merely striding his way about, heading right for the giant elephant skull, Mafa's main den. Narrowing her eyes some, she got to her paws and bent down, scooting forward to watch him.

What was he up to...?

The male's grin turned into a smirk, a slight chuckle coming from within his throat. His bloodstained teeth gnashed for a second, and then went back to smirking. He could see the female hyena up ahead, as he wasn't stupid. She was watching him, and very intently. More than likely, she knew he wasn't from around here, and had decided to watch him in case anything bad tried to happen.

Yea... Like something bad would happen... Only in this hyena's good dreams.

Oddly enough, Kai began to get th feeling that she was the one being watched. Shaking her head some, she continued to watch the oncoming male hyena. He just kept on strolling along, not seemingly afraid of any hyenas who may decide to jump out and attack him. What exactly was he doing...? And why?

Curious, Kai crept forward, hoping to get a better look at him. He had to be up to something bad.. He just had to be!

Was this hyena girl really that stupid? She merely sat there, watching him. Why was another question, as he was doing nothing wrong, for now. Sure, he had plans to go and assassinate Mafa, but who was really keeping track of that, right? No one but himself, and his handy dandy claws and teeth.

Yes, he had been eagerly waiting for this moment... And whether that hyena girly was going to stop him or not was another story.

Her silver eyes watched the male intently, her short tail flicking behind her. She cocked her head some as she saw the male grin again, his bloodstained teeth appearing once more. He didn't seem to be dangerous... As he wasn't attacking anything... All he seemed to be doing was going for...

The giant elephant skull?!

Kai got to her feet, growling. The fur on her back began to stand on end, her eyes filled with a burning fire. Mafa and her newborn pups were in there! Kai wouldn't let this strolling male get within five feet of her den. There was no way she was going to risk the heir to the Graveyard like that.

The male chuckled as he saw the gray female get to her paws, a very worried look on her face. Apparently, she had figured out what he had planned. Sure, it would be hard to accomplish, but it would well be worth it. Mafa and her whole Graveyard pack had ruined his life. He would get back at her for that, one way or another.

"My darling... You cannot stop me. I am on a mission.... To kill!"

The male dashed, right into the direction of Mafa's den. His purple eyes gleamed and his bloody teeth gnashed about happily. This would be lost of fun.

What the..? What was he doing?!

Snarling, Kai dashed off as well, heading for this beastly hyena. He had mentioned killing? Why? Was it Mafa he wanted to kill? Or was it her pups? In any case, Kailasa wouldn't let him do it. While she didn't much care for Mafa, she had a duty to protect her, and protect her she would.

"You stay away from that den!", she snapped, bounding forward to land in front of the male, blocking his way. "Don't you dare touch Mafa, or her pups!"

Dark lilac paws skidded to a halt, hazy green hair smacking the male hyena in the face. Growling, he shook some, his mane fluffing back into place. His purple eyes stared at the female before him, filled with anger and hate.

"Why do you care, you over protective brat?!", he spat. "I can tell you don't come from here. You weren't born into this pack! Why the hell are you here?! You don't fit in."

With a snort, the male stared down Kai, extremely annoyed now. This damn female was in his way! The longer he waited, the more of a chance that some other hyena, or even Mafa herself, would become quite aware of his presence. Damn her!

Kai was taken quite aback. How did he know that she wasn't from the pack? Was it really that obvious? She growled some more, continuing to stand her ground.

"Why does it matter whether I'm from this pack or not? This is my home now, and where I treasure others. You WILL NOT go near Mafa, her den, or her pups! I will not let you! I don't care what you're up to... You shall not pass!"

Kai wuffed some, her claws digging into the ground. Her fur was still on end, and an enraged fire was still lit within her eyes. Whether Mafa or any of the pack members thanked her later for this was a whole other story.... But Kai didn't care. At least she knew that she did something right, whether she got recognition for it or not.

"Why does it matter?", the male chuckled. "It matters, my dear, because as long as you defend this pack in any way, you are on my hit list. Each... And every... Damn hyena... Adult or pup... in this pack... Will suffer for what has happened to me!"

The male snarled in a very harsh tone, his tail flicking behind him. He could see that his was not going to end his way.. At least not this time around. He would have to back down.. And come back later. Maybe... Yes.. Just maybe... He could get this lovely female first. That way, she'd be out of the way, for good.

Smirking some, the male bowed his head, looking quite smug in his ways. "Alright. You win, my dear. Remember though... I will be back... And you are the one I will be after."

Laughing in such a horrific way, the male bowed his head once more, turning on his dark lilac paws, huffing off, and in quite a hurry too.

"Huh? Me?"

Kai cocked her head some, her stance relaxing as the male suddenly turned and quickly ran off. Maybe he didn't want to be caught, as their scene was sure enough to attract others. Still... What he had said. Kai only had to worry.

"At least Mafa is safe now... For now anyhow."

Her silver eyes watched the male run off, her mind still pondering one question. Who was he and why did he hold such a grudge against the pack?

Nothing made sense anymore.
