Mirengo was actually enjoying his short stay in the Kusini lands, much had stayed the same yet a lot had changed. Again the huge families were growing, his own included, yet he had not seen many cubs.
It was nice to be in the change of scenerey, he had been starting to forget what everything had looked like since he had been a juvenile. He wanted to take as much in as he could before he told his mother and father goodbye again, he did not want to keep Nafsi in this place long. Indeed, he wanted to travel to the jungles with her and see the stunning places. Who knew what they would do from there?
Something told him he would want to come back here, or eventually settle back in his homelands... it is almost how the jungle called to his leopardess companion... but it did not matter, he would leave the final say up to her. After speaking with Njozi he realized the feline had captured his heart and soul, he would go where ever she called.
He sighed and took a deep breath, eyes floating over the golden grass of the kusini, landing on a stray butterfly. He was pretty close to his family's den, thinking of searching out the very female on his thoughts so he could discuss traveling plans with her. He wasn't ready yet.
"Perhaps I should meet my brothers and sisters.." He spoke softly, gaze floating to the clouds that were sparse in the sky. Yes, that sounded like a grand idea. He turned to move toward his mother's and father's den.

The morning was a pleasant one, with few clouds in the sky and the sun glinting bright and clear on its cerulean backdrop. A tiny little white and mocha form sat outside a sizable den, his startling red eyes gazing up at the sky. A small smile was on his tiny mug, and he seemed perfectly content in just...staring into nothingness. It was a thing that Nchi'Kijini often did in the mornings before the rest of his family rose. Little Kiji had woken up late himself today. Normally he preferred to get up with the sun to catch the last twinkling of the stars.
He sighed contentedly as he gazed at the golden grasses. He'd only been alive a short time, but deep down, he already knew he'd never leave this place permanently. It felt peaceful here, and Kiji's soul felt light and happy amongst this plentiful territory.
Flicking his ears, he lowered his front half, curling into a small ball at the foot of the cave. He would stay there, a guardian almost, until his family woke up. Though, he really didn't make much of a guardian, as he wouldn't notice anyone who approached, so lost was he in his own daydreaming.

As he got closer it was easy to spot the small splotch of white outside of the den, harder to spot the dusty color that the white was mixed with. At first he wasn't sure what it was, and then he realized it was a pretty large cub! "Oh, hello." He said carefully, cheerfully.
His eyes floated over the creature, studying carefully. Yes, this was one of his new brothers. He reminded Rengo a little of Njozi, with the same mostly-white body and playful mask on his face with the one-two-three little dots that were so common in their family markings. Rengo only had them on one side of his fact, and more often than not they were hidden by his pink fluff of a mane. He wondered if the little one would realize he was his older brother... he really didn't look like Ny or Taabu.
He also didn't realize he had a new mostly-black little brother in the litter, so it wouldn't be too hard to figure out.

Kiji was indeed a large cub. His brothers seemed to be mostly of a smaller size, yet he'd seemed to inherit the build of the Kusini line. This was on emphasized by all his fluffy cub fur.
It took the ivory cub a second or two to figure out that someone had actually spoken to him. Slowly turning his head, he gazed up at the large black lion above him. He seemed...familiar in a way. Smelled familiar too. The older lion's eyes could've been an exact mirror for his own, and the pink of his male and tail seemed too close to his mother's fur. Was this another one of his older siblings that he hadn't met yet? He knew he had them...But he'd only seen Njozi and Amani. And even this lion wasn't a member of his family, he could still be polite, couldn't he?
A grin on his muzzle, he sat up. "Hello. Who're you?"

He chuckled and bowed his head low. "I don't know if you were told my name yet or not but I am Mirengo'Kauta!" He paused a moment and his tail swished. "You can call me Rengo, I'm an older brother of yours." He explained, though in his head the conversation sounded a little bizarre.
"Aren't you playing with the others?" He meant Nchi's other litter mates, was he out here all alone? Rengo looked slowly around. "Oh and... what shall I call you?"

Rengo. Mother had definitely spoken of him, but this was the first time Kiji had run into him. "Hello Rengo," he said in his placid little voice, his eyes nearly squinting to a close with the width of his grin. He slowly pushed himself to his paws and turned around to face the dark lion, and then promptly sat back down again as soon as he was.
He looked back towards the den. "The others are still sleeping. I always wake up before them," he said, tail flicking calmly at his feet. He turned his bright red eyes back to his brother. "And I'm Nchi'Kijini, but everyone calls me Kiji." The young ivory lion tilted his head to the side. "I haven't seen you before this. Where have you been?"

Kiji, that was cute. Rengo grinned at him and chuckled. "Sleepy heads, huh?" He was used to waking early now. Actually he was used to changing his sleeping pattern when needed. Sometimes he and Nafsi would travel by the cover of the dark and sometimes they would go in the daylight.
He hesitated before answering, because Kiji and the other new siblings wouldn't see him much after either. He would be coming back... hopefully. "I have been traveling, with a friend." He was careful not to include said friends gender or species, he had no idea who'd inherited the same teasing-gene that Njozi got! "I am just here shortly, to visit you all. Mother and Father...." And well, everyone as he had said.
Ah what now, what was he supposed to say to the cub?

Kiji preferred waking up with the sun. Already his mind was filled with spiritualistic and symbolic ideas, and the sun rising to him was a symbol of being reborn each day, starting with a clean slate, as it were. The night, while beautiful and peaceful, lurked with the idea of danger.
"That sounds nice," he said softly, as if his mind wasn't really within the conversation at hand. But no one would have to worry about Kiji teasing them. He hadn't been born with a single ill-will gene in his body.
Shaking his head, he seemed to zone back in. "Are you traveling for a reason?" he said, tilting his head back. "Father says I'm going to have to travel a lot when I get older if I'm going to be like him and Njozi and be a Usare'Wasii."

He smiled softly and chuckled. A day dreamer, or so he seemed to Rengo.
"Oh, Usare'Wasii eh?" His brows rose slightly. "That is a very good goal to have." He praised, grinning. He'd never been interested in that, even though he loved his pride very much. "But I haven't been traveling for any reason at all, simply because I enjoy it."

Kiji was, in a way, a daydreamer. Except that his thoughts didn't linger in a fantasy world, but it one very much real and all around them. He loved the earth too much to even want his mind to leave its gentle embrace. It seemed Kiji was more of a hippie...just minus all the drugs.
The ivory cub puffed out his chest proudly at the praise. "Mother says so too. She says I'll be as big as father one day." It was most likely true, too. Kiji dwarfed his male siblings by quite a bit already, and it didn't help that his fur was fluffy enough to make him look even bigger than he really was.
He tilted his head at his older brother. Traveling just because? "Wow - I could never do that. I like it too much here," he said, grinning broadly. That love of this pride would stick with him his entire life. He knew the time he'd have to spend away training would be torture on him, but at such a young age, he already knew his soul was at home in these golden lands. "It must be nice to travel with someone, though. I imagine it would be very lonely otherwise."

He laughed and smiled at the little one. "Oh I love it here very much!" He replied, quickly too. "I plan to settle back here once my travels are finished." But he also had adventurous blood in his veins, due to their father and mother both. But like their father he would come back to his homelands to start his family.
He thought a little and ruffled the other's fur. "Lonely sometimes... but it can be lonely even when you are with another. I know I felt lonely while traveling with my friend, because I missed home." It was a different kind of feeling than feeling alone, really.

To be honest, the thought of traveling by himself scared little Kiji quite a bit. He'd already begun thinking about his future journey. He thought he might convince his recently-made friend to go with him for at least part of the way. The other cub didn't have as much loyalty to the Kusini as Kiji already possessed.
Kiji laughed softly as his fur was ruffled. "I'm glad that you plan to come back. I don't get to see my older brothers and sisters very much." Well...he saw them quite often, he just didn't get to interact with them. Njozi was always busy with his duties, and his older sisters were always off elsewhere. In fact, he really didn't see his own littermates that often either. But maybe that was because Kiji had that bad habit of wandering off alone for hours on end.

He just smiled and nodded. "Aye, sometimes it's hard to spend a lot of time with anyone around here." He shrugged lightly, that was just how it was.
"Anyways I have someone to find, but I will see you in the days to come." He grinned at the little one and bowed before moving away from his little brother. "Stay out of trouble!" He called over his shoulder, though fondly thought of all the times he and Njozi had gotten into trouble before they'd both gone their seperate ways. That had been fun, a lot of fun.

Kiji grinned in response to his brother, nodding his head. There was really no question of whether Kiji would stay out of trouble. He always managed to stay on the right side of the rules - at least with his own brothers he did. But now, with this new friend, who knew if he might decide to bend those rules just a little? He was getting into his trouble-making stage, after all.
"Bye!" he called out to Rengo, thoroughly pleased to have finally met another one of his siblings.
