Zekdek continued to groom himself, not oblivious but unconcerned by the Sentinels nearby.
Alethia bobbed her head agreeably. "For finding things, there are no better companions. A mus is small enough to go where we cannot."

"I do agree. I've been spending snatches of free time down where they raise the mus watching them and looking for the right one. I could really use some of the help. It's a bit lonely where I stay. I picked a place that's secluded, but it has some rare ingredients. Where as the more common ones I don't have to travel far for..but rare is rare indeed...." She too bodded her head. She looked over at Zekdek. "He is rather nicely colored."

"Will you be using one to help you gather delicate things? You'll want one with a careful touch, if that's the case. An adult, who is clever and not too easily distracted."
She looked at the mus again, a sort of fondness in her gaze even as she huffed and fluffed her chest feathers. "Zekdek."
The mus started and peered around, then smiled when he spotted the ladies. "'ello," he said cheerfully.
"Yes, hello. Say thank you, Zekdek. You've been complimented."
He fluffed himself too. "Thank you!"

Chenoa smiled at Zekdek. "Your very welcome." She looked back at Alethia. "Yes, I'll keep that in mind. Especially when I head down there again to look more closely at the mus they have."
She preened a couple out of place feathers, then returned her attention to Alethia. "So what is it you do?"

Zekdek beamed and sat, watching them, tail curled around himself with just the tip twitching.
"I teach the fledglings," Alethia announced with not a small note of pride.

"Ah that is a honorable profession indeed," Chenoa said fluffing a bit. "I'm an apothecary. I do enjoy making dyes."
( she has her companion now..>>. )
Suddenly a mus appeared. It was a female named Isi. She tilted her head at Zekdek.

"Also an honorable profession," Alethia said. She spread her wings a little, showing off her blue bars. "I've dabbled a bit with the dyes. Never on my own, mind you. I'd end up as bright as a rainbow."
Zekdek's whiskers started quivering right away. It was just no use trying to stay still. Bright-eyed, he piped, "Hello hello!"

Chenoa chortled softly. "Ah yes....sometimes one must let the experienced deal if that. Took me a while to get the hang of it, but I got it down. She looked at her dye job. This was done by the owl that taught me my profession. She was quite good at it." She paused for a moment. "I'm not sure if I want to add or not to it...see how I do...."
Isi twitched her whiskers and sniffed at Zekdek. "HIHI!" she piped back.

Alethia gave her another once over. "It's pretty, what you have. You're not worried that more might be, well. Too much?"
"Zekdek," he introduced. "That's me!"

"That's what I was thinking....it might be too much." She murmured looking over the dye on her feathers.
"Isi!" the female mus squeaked.

"Well, From where I sit, I think it's just enough. Not that you asked," she added, amused, "but there it is."
"Isi." Zekdek worried his tail, thinking about that, then decided, "Good name!"
