Okay so here is my base premises if it were on a comm.
-The main idea is to create a community on live journal with the focal point being to help "Off brand" lolitas. Basically meaning those lolitas who want to be a part of the fashion but don't quite know were to start, what to look for or how to start. It would also be a place for people who are looking to use "off brand" items for lolita but they have no clue if it would work, how it would work or what it would look like.
It would help with coordinations with pieces that they think WOULD work. If it works to the correct shape and design of lolita.
It would not be one big sister for a million little sisters it would be a place that anyone can help as long as they keep a friendly tone and their criticism {If any} will be positive. That way it would stop them before they jump right into EGL thinking anything that is skirt and puffy sleeves works.
Most of the reference will be from the Lolita handbook. I used it and I /did/ find something that worked for lolita but was off brand. So I do think it is possible. I personally think that as a starting lolita it is not so bad to learn the fashion and coordinate off brand into an outfit. It gives them an idea before they get too involved and possibly turn away from lolita.
This community will help them make their ideas possible. It will push starting lolitas in the right direction and help them on their way.
HOWEVER!!!- If someone is a troll or obviously is not getting the idea of lolita at all {after at least 5 posts} they will basically be told not to post until they understand the correct style and structure of lolita.
I already have a few people who want to help me so I can run it I will just need some help from more experienced lolitas so I am not bombarded constantly.
Is anyone willing to help? Or at least think this idea would work?

You mean newbies. Not off-brand - that pretty much means anything that isn't Japanese brand. A lot of experienced lolita wear off-brand, so I think it'd probably be better just to focus on learning to coordinate in general -- I've seen brand coordinated horribly before, so the term 'off-brand' is confusing me, because it really doesn't have anything to do with it. And it might give newbies the impression that they'll always be new until they're not wearing 'off-brand'.
But basically, you mean a place where all those "Any suggestions for my outfit?" posts would go? Help people new to the fashion learn what looks good and what doesn't work?

Well I'm not sure that it will be just help with coordinating because I think the newbie lolitas might be intimidated to post if a whole slue of more experienced lolitas post coordination questions.
It will be a place to help Newbies. But In my mindset I have seen some good non brand coordinates done and if a newbie to lolita wants to start some were but they don't necessarily want to even buy lolita or they have reasons why they can't buy lolita.
I have seen many people post pictures of dresses they have found and they honestly think it would work for lolita. And turn around and they get more comments about how it doesn't work then how it does.
I really want to create some were that can help those who want to use "normal" clothes for lolita. {If it works.} Like say someone buys a skirt. They are almost positive it has the right shape and the right design, but they are scared to ask anyone. I think this could be the place were they ask that as well as how to coordinate it.
So yes. Essentially a Newbie help comm.

That actually sounds like a good idea and it will help avoid people from spamming EGL LJ with it and then the whole "they were mean to me" thing from occurring. I wouldn't mind helping at all since this is something I wish had been around when I first started out (so much bad Lolita at the beginning crying ). Since I sew I could also be helpful in giving sew tips on how you can change something into Lolita with a few tweaks to the things they have.

ElizabethRose311 i sent my app.... when/how will we get replies? will we get a reply even if we are rejected? As soon as Fiaria puts your name into the Little Sisters Section I will send you a guild invite. I doubt anyone will get rejected. Fiaria is having some problems as am I with our personal lives so it may take a little longer to respond.
