A set of paws stepped gingerly into the open, gray-blue eyes practically bursting with delight. It was Mable's first time away from home. Her over protective parents had put up such a fight to keep her back, but there was simply no way the young adult was going to waste away back at the den like some cub who had just gotten in a scuffle with her siblings. Her mouth parted to taste the air, mingled scents of many lions around. Immediately Mable's ears shot back, and in a panic the young fem crouched low to the ground, acting as though down here no one could see her. Being it the first time out on her own, Mable was more than sketchy. Back home her parents praised her every paw-step, but now...without someone constantly hovering over her shoulder she felt confused and lost. Like everything she did was a mistake, and that was why there was no praise.

"Just my nerves. It takes everyone time to adjust." She reassured herself, letting out a girlish giggle, followed by soft smile. Mable raised herself rather slowly, but finally managed to stand no less. Up ahead a small puddle of water had collected, glistening under the brilliant sun. For a moment she stood completely still, opening her mouth again to taste the air then began a brisk walk to the pool. Her muzzle lowered, lapping up the water to her content. Mable hoped she wasn't being anti-social by not running off in search of a lion to chat with, but she couldn't seem to let go of her sheepish ways. 'Maybe they'll come find me' she reassured herself once again, laying down onto a soft patch of grass.
