What could improve Gradius?

Yes, we all know Gradius is a great video game series, but is there anything you think Konami could do to improve in future games? Post any thoughts you have here.

Gradius, like a lot of Konami star titles, is built on memories. WTF moments if you will. Like the first time you were on the bridges in Contra when they exploded. Or in Life Force, when you reached the second stage and saw that it was traveling up.

Best thing to do is incorporate more new weapons and shapes to make with directed energy. ripple circles, round lasers, etc are good, and should see some new competition. On top of that, some new stage designs would do things good. We've had a few sand stages, but we could use more enemies made of sand. especially if you watched them form from it.

Or, on that note, a stage where the enemies form from the stage itself and assemble in a way similar to the yellow devil from Megaman.

well that's pretty good. how about more enemies and bullets for easy mode XD

In my opinion, many good shmups have bombs. There are some bosses in Gradius where you wish you had a bomb to stall some time, like the asteroid one in Gradius V. Makes me so angry..........

Yeah but doesn't the mega crush activate in 5 when you die? that seems like a staller to me.

Mega Crush get's rid of the tiny enemies, not the big ones, or the "producers" that stick to the ground, or bosses. But you make a good point.

Yeah it can destroy the meteors for a time which is good. And glad to see you're still sticking around too. biggrin
