Momentarily free from her traveling partner Biyuren, Xanthe slipped through the forest, a satisfied grin spread wide across her maw like a cat with a secret. Stocking'd paws sprang like deer's feet over the moist land and through the underbrush, every once in a while the female letting out a soft string of muffled giggles.
It wasn't that she didn't enjoy Sir Biyuren's company, he was the most anyone could ask for in a partner, and his way of speech made her flush pink, but even so the wolf wanted some alone time to herself. Sadly, she didn't have the heart to tell him she wanted to wander off for a bit, because every time she tried he assumed it meant wander off together. So, to put it simply enough, she'd duped him.
Racing off early in the morning just as the sun dared to peek over the tops of the trees she'd left the fit red male snoozing alone, and hid her tracks well by circling the campsite and leaping across a large brook to keep him from following her. Now, alone in the morning forest, the birds beginning to chirrup their first calls, Xanthe was at peace.
