Harabu was being well boring. He didn't have much to do, then again when did he ever? His daughters were all growing up and it was just well strange. He had necer expected to see his family grow up so quickly and the more his daughters grew the prettier they became.

He allowed himself to laze about today, he wasn't sure where exactly his children were or where Amani was but he didn't mind that much. He was happy here, this was his home and he had a beautiful mate and gorgeous daughters. Yes life was perfect here.

User ImageIhlo was overdue a visit to her family. She was eager to see how her sisters were growing up, hopefully into elegant, beautiful young ladies. She'd love them all the same if they were all tom-boys, but she often set the standard for her sisters to the standard she'd set herself. Although today, she wasn't sure if that was such a high standard.

After finally revealing her pregnancy to her mate, the pair were now faced with having to inform the rest of their families. Ihlo was nervous, but not in a frightened sort of way. She was just eager to see their reactions and hope they'd be happy.

A white form amongst golden grasses, she looked about for her step-mother or any of her half-siblings. A dark mass caught her eye though and a part of her was worried. She had planned to inform her sisters and her step-mother first and then let it filter to her father, maybe cushion the blow.

Looks like she found her father first though.

She padded towards him, all worry wiped form her face as she was reminded of his good nature, his fatherly-ness. He was just lounging there, a great big furry mass and she just wanted to curl beside him and nestle. As if she were a cub again.

"Not busy today then?" she chuckled.

Harabu raised his head at the voice and allowed a smile to crawl across his face.

"Am I ever?" He chuckled.

Wow his daughter was a stunner.

"How are you Ihlo? I haven't seen you in a while!" He got up and walked over to his daughter, giving her a gentle and soft nuzzle. He then noticed she was a little chubby. Well at least she had been eating well. He wouldn't want his eldest daughter starving now would he?!

Ihlo beamed at him and heartily returned his affectionate nuzzle, leaning into him as she did with her mate Njozi. She really should have been around here more often, but the new den and the impending family was bound to distract her.

"I'm...well...very well," she said with a slight pause, almost tempted to blurt it out there and then. But nope, a little more tact might have been a smarter idea with her father. He certainly wouldn't appreciate games and tricks like she had done with Njozi.

"My sister's aren't driving you crazy yet?" she teased.

"I am glad!" He smiled at his daughter. Oh how beautiful she was. He was so proud to have created such beauty.

"Oh they drove me mad the minute they were born, I just live in pure madness now. Anyway how are you? What have you been upto? We haven't seen you in a while now!" He smiled at her wanting to hear everything. He was able to keep up with most of his daughters though it was hard to. Goodness knows where Nurisha is now-a-days. Umbia was always off wandering...

Well at least Ihlo was still around and that was good enough for him!

"Well...ummm," she hesitated, bit by bit, wondering how best to break everything to him. "I have a den now, a little bit more space as the girls were all growing. I'd have a face full of foot on some mornings."

She continued to beam and laugh with her father, never regretting her decision to find him proper as opposed to her mother's wishes. It felt like he'd never not been a part of her life.

So why was it so hard? She wasn't 'afraid' of her father, not in the sense of fear. Was it fear of disappointing him? But if what Njozi had said was true...then he'd be happy for them.

"I...share my den with someone...special."

Harabu was wondering why she was hesitating.

"Thats lovely, a den of your own is good it gives you space to do as you wish..." He then paused as she continued.

His daughter had a mate? Oh well he better be good enough! No one was having Ihlo unless they look after her properly. Harabu would make sure of that!

"Oh well I hope to meet him then! Can't have any old guy with my precious daughter now can I?" He chuckled a little a smile on his face the whole time. "Does this mean I will be a grandad soon then?" He had a cheeky smile on his face, he had noticed that she looked a little chubbier but had put it down to just eating lots.

Ihlo smiled, partly for her love of her father, and partly out of nervousness. Oh dear...he hadn't met Njozi yet. How was he going to react to the next part?

OH! Seemed like he had saved her some of the heartache and agony of exactly what to say, and how to say it. Her face was stunned for a moment, and then the smile returned. Should she run with it?

"Well...erm...as long as you like the idea of being a grandad..."

Harabu laughed at that. He couldn't help it.

"Because I am sure that if what I assume is true you can just stop the cubs from coming and stop me being a grandfather!" He couldn't help but find it hilarious. Unless of course he was wrong and she had just been eating alot, then he would look rather stupid though the idea still made him laugh, it was a rather amusing thought.

Ihlo's expression was a little taut, if only because she hadn't actually known what reaction to prepare for. She supposed this was as good as it could be though! A great smile sneaked onto her face and she giggled, more at her father's sense of humour than anything.

"Well, at least you've been given some warning now," she laughed. "Prepare yourself, there'll be some more little-me's running around, causing havoc."

"Oh no however shall we survive? I mean one of you is enough to bring the end of the world!" He chuckled, clearly in a sarcastic mood today and probably good that he was. The last thing Ihlo would have needed is for Harabu to be in one of his grumpy moods. The idea of him being a grandfather amused him somewhat. His oldest daughter, a mother. Okay now he felt old.

"Hey!" she laughed and playfully batted at her father's belly. "It could be worse - they could all be like you."

This wasn't bad at all. Thinking about it, she really shouldn't have been afraid to tell her father, and she hoped Njozi's family were going to be as accepting. New life in the family is always something nice.

"You'd like Njozi..."

Harabu smiled. "True, true!"

He nodded, "I am sure I would like to meet him, maybe you should go find him now, I must go and tell everyone about this. A grandfather, wow!" He chuckled.

She nuzzled her gently and licked the top of her head. "Shall see you aboutt sweetie! Look after yourself!" He smiled and turned to leave. "Amani would love to hear about this!"

Ihlo smiled widely at her father, and could imagine the news spreading like wild-fire around her family. She could envisage being mobbed by her sisters' well-wishes and fussing, she almost couldn't wait for it actually. At heart, like any girl really, Ihlo loved compliments and attention.

"I shall see you again soon enough no doubt," she nuzzled him back and then watched him as he disappeared with that new spring in his step. For a short while after their meeting, Ihlo couldn't stifle her smiles and girlish giggles before she got up herself to go find Njozi.
