Brightling, the bard, got the bright idea to celebrate the upcoming Graduation with a festival for the fledglings and she enlisted Fjord the Muse to help.
Now, this is going to be an official mini event with several threads (like the storm event, but much smaller).
Gift, Aurrie - This thread is for you and the rp staff to plan this festivity.
Feel free to chime in if you're interested even if you're not gift or Aurrie. An official sign up thread will be posted once a date for the festival is set, but it'd be nice to know how much interest there is.
Thoughts so far (let us know if you have other/better ideas)
- Bards and fledglings only, with 1 bard and 2-3 fledglings in each thread. - If there are much more bards than fledglings interested we could possibly add minders, teachers or others to fill out the ranks. - One performance per thread, so there would be several small performances and not one big. - We might have to limit the event to a set amount of slots if there is too much interest.
What we need to know: - When is a good time for you? The next graduation will happen soon-ish, but it's no fun if you can't participate in the festival... It needs to happen before the end of May and we need 5-7 days for a sign up period. - Did you have anything special in mind?

Well, I have AP testing this and next week, and I'm going to be away from the 16th until the 19th (prom and family visits) so ideally I'd like this to happen later, perhaps the last week of May, or some such thing?

It definitely needs to be before the end of May for me. My family moves early June and I might have to go on haitus for about a month or so, until Scott and I get our living/payment stuff situated.

How about a start around the 20th then? We better not plan for it to be finished too close to the end of May if Aurrie is going on hiatus. There needs to be some margin of error...
Do you think it would work with separate performances for all interested bards or did you want to make a joint performance?

20th sounds pretty good to me! My "brother" from the military is coming home a few days after, but I should be able to keep up with a post every 24 hours, if we do it like last time.
Hnn...
Separate performances should work if we have enough bards willing to participate. If not, we could maybe do a few individual performances and finish the event with a joint performance? I don't know how that would work.

20th is absolutely fine for me!
Separate performances would be preferable for me, since I have a fledgling as well as a bard and I'd love to be able to play with both.
I liked the way The Storm was run, and since this will be on an even smaller scale, I think it'd be nice to just have a few threads, pretty laid-back.
But we definitely need to finish it before Aurrie goes away.

It all depends on how many fledglings and bards are interested. Say only 5 fledges want to play. That would make 2 performance threads, 3 if you fill up with one adult sentinel or two...
So far we have 2 entertainers and until we start sign ups we don't really know how many will be interested. Birch can be used if he is really needed, but he doesn't have to be one of the bards entertaining.
We'll probably keep this event limited, as I said. If too many bards or too many fledglings sign up we might have to set a limit, but I think we should try to see how much interest we've got before setting definite limits.
The rules would be similar to last time, possibly with an option to pick a slow group for those who don't want to post more than once every 24h and a quicker option for those who want to rp until their fingers bleed.
There might be additional rules for the entertainers. Not much, just that they need to have a performance thought out in advance (at least a rough outline that can be modified as needed) and that the performance should go on for X days but no more than Y days. Just to ensure that the rp doesn't end too fast or drag on foreeeever. Do you think that would be reasonable?

Sounds like fun! I'd love to join up with Jester, even though he has no experience and is very wary of the stage. I think he'd enjoy entertaining fledgies!
If you have him, he's yours.

XDDD I think that all sounds like it makes sense.
Brightling’s only good with the fledgies. :3
But all in all, it sounds good to me.

Sounds grand!
Hnn, to think a performance out... I'll have time to do that for sure. Fjord would not mind Jester's company at all. His audience is a bit more varied than just fledglings, but he likes the little buggers.

It doesn't have to be a very fancy performance. Just be aware that you'll need to be able to entertain the little ones for about a week (RL time). Try to have a plan B in mind if you end up in a fast or slow group and your original idea takes too much or not enough time...
I'm going to start signups this weekend probably and you three will need to sign up too, to make it official. (You're all in, but just to help with organisation)
Hmmm... Do you think they'd use the theatre or somewhere closer/in the minder enclave for the festival?

I'd suggest the enclave, as thats where most of the fledgies will be. Makes it easier for the minders too.
Hrm.. I'll get to work on something Jester could do.

Yeah, I'm thinking the Enclave. That way they wouldn't have to worry about chaperoning the fledglings out to the Theatre. -nods-
-wiggles off to sign Fjord up-
