Loki figured that leaving Ketei in charge for a few hours couldn't hurt, especially since she hadn't crossed the borders of her own territory in many moons. After Hige had disappeared, and along with him most of her pups, she felt that as a lone alpha of what felt like a dying pack, she should stay within the pack itself and try her best to keep things together.
But now that Ket was around to help out, and things seemed to be going more smoothly, she couldn't see a problem in taking a visit outside of her pack's borders to see if she could find fresh blood. New pack members were seldom a bad thing.
It was early morning, and dew from the lower laying plants stuck to her fur as she passed. She was small, and it was easy for her to slip through areas that would have taken some contorting by bigger wolves to be able to pass. Her breath came easily, ears were kept alert and her tail flagged out at mid-level. She felt good today, and wasn't willing to let anything get her down.
She realized after a while that she hadn't heard anything from Faenaro or his crew in a long while. Not that she was put out by that - it was a good thing when troublesome wolves slid into the darkness and never came back. Then again, maybe it was Hige that the dark male had a problem with, and not Loki herself. She remembered in soft focus detail the events that had led to how her life had turned out currently, and while most was bad, there was some good littered in there as well.
But the small wolf sighed, slowing her pace. She had learned long ago that it was best to focus on her surroundings when she was out and about. Who knows what (Or who) you could run into and if you weren't careful and paying attention, bad things could happen.
She had long since passed the river that cut off the East side of her territory, and now she was coming up on a small stream of water. She couldn't place where it lay in the freelands, as she had never explored this area before, but she figured it would be ok to stop for a moment and take a drink before she continued on.
