Fjord's quick glance did not catch the bard's eye, but it certainly caught the eye of Crow, who shuddered.

Hopefully her master would not pick up on the idea and put it on the pica or herself.

Speaking of pica, Feather was inspecting the two new mus, the strange bag on Amber... And oh, the glass. He could almost see his reflection in it! Feather tilted his head to the side parted his beak, tilted his head the other way. He peered closer, before skittering back slightly. He lowered himself and inched closer.

"That sounds marvelous! Absolutely perfect. Mm, what might service would you require for a batch?"

"KRAAH!" The pica's cry was sharp after Fjord's words. "What that!? What that!?"

A note from the Herald: A Pica would not be able to understand what his reflection is. He would probably think that the reflection was another Pica. A pica is about as smart as a really smart parrot, but they don't understand complex things like mirror images.

Oh, another sale was coming to a close! What joy! What elation! What—

"KRAAH! What that!? What that!?"

Amberglow jumped in surprise at the panicked squawking, and her two mus fared no better. Both of the rodents disappeared into the surrounding leaves, leaving their master to deal with the noisy threat alone.

She saw how the pica was staring in horror at the vial on her belt, put two and two together, and smiled sympathetically. “It’s just your reflection,” she told him. Remembering that companions don’t understand mirrors, she added, “It’s like a picture of a pica. It’s not real.” She wasn’t sure if it would understand what a picture was either, but hopefully it would be satisfied.

Turning to Fjord, she smiled again. “I don’t know how much of a bard’s time can be bought with perfume, but perhaps you could stop by my home sometime and teach my children a song or two? Preferably something educational?”

By now, Mor and Gan were slinking back, sniffing and twitching their ears as they went to make certain there was no longer any danger. They both crawled underneath Amber, huddling against her legs for protection.

Fjord swept a wing at the confused and slightly curious pica, then ushered him back lightly to his talons. The last thing he wanted was for the bird to try and peck or preen the glass vials. He didn't want to run the risk of breaking them.

"Funny... Funny. Pica? Like me? 'Nother? Hey! Hey, you, where you come from?" He tilted his head and did not exactly grasp what Amberglow was talking about. He was sure that was another pica on her, and he hadn't seen another in quite some time.

Crow had retreated to Fjord's talons, where she rested comfortably. The pica's outburst was nothing new to her, as he was easily excitable and loved to chatter up a storm.

"Most certainly! Nothing more satisfying than passing along our history to the little ones." Fjord replied, before dipping his head to try and settle his companion down with a brisk, but careful preen.

Crazy companions. Amber shook her head at their antics with a tolerant humor in her eyes. She smiled at Fjord, took the little packet of lavender scent from her bag, and laid it at his talons with her Will.

"I'll start preparation of your order right away, Sir Muse. I've got plenty of dry lavender set aside, so it shouldn't take more than a night. You can pick it up any time after that. I live east of the Deep Woods, in a small grove of maples right where the river meets the lake." She paused to sigh contentedly as she thought of her beloved home and family. ""We have such lovely cherry trees, too."

"That sounds perfect." He lifted the packet with his will and held it near to his beak. He inhaled the scent of the lavender. It smelled just as perfect as the arrangements were to his schedule.

"Would you like for me to educate the young ones on the same night, or would you prefer another time?"

Amber was pleased again to see the bard's enjoyment of the lavender. "If you're prepared to work with the boys that soon," she chirped, "we'd be glad to have you."

She was already thinking about what lovelies she'd have ready when this likable fellow arrived. Certainly more nice-smelling things, as her family's roosting tree was already full of them. Ripe cherries to eat, of course, and maybe a fish or two with some honey glaze...

Glazed like her eyes as she imagined the preparations. See, Amberglow was rather deprived of social contact, if that fact wasn't glaringly obvious already. Raising two younglings by your lonesome sometimes did that.

((OOC: I have come to the realization that Amber is guilty of LYING during this RP, because according to her profile, Gan is not lavender scented. He is, in fact, LILAC scented. Add that to the Noctua blooper reel! *Headdesks*))

"Right, then! I'll have a few educational ditties worked up, for sure." The bard replied and preened the alarmed pica in an attempt to calm him. The bird was a little too curious for his own good and the last thing Fjord wanted was to be the cause of shattered glass.

"You know, they might enjoy future trips to the theater, if ever you and the little ones have free enough time to visit. Mayhap once they are strong enough to travel that far. I always love to see familiar faces in the audience." He grinned and nodded; his mind was already picking out what songs he planned on performing for her little ones.

“Oh, the theater! Of course we’ll come.” It was still a while yet before the boys could make the trip, but she knew they’d look forward to it, especially after meeting Fjord the Muse when he visited their home.

Home! The preparations! Cleaning the tree and preening the fledglings and gathering food! And she couldn’t forget to mix up the bard’s order! So much to do.

“Well, Sir Muse, it was a pleasure to meet you,” she said, giving a slight bow. She was too giddy to resist that bit of theatrics. “Feel free to drop by at your earliest convenience. I look forward to meeting you again!”

“Feel free to drop by at your earliest convenience. I look forward to meeting you again!”

"As do I, m'dear." Fjord replied with a jovial chuckle and a sweeping bow. He certainly loved his chosen task and the joy it brought to him to cheer up sentinels or see cheery sentinels.

The aberrant's ringed eartufts flicked back slightly as he dipped his head in a bow. He then pronmptly stretched his wings and legs.

"I'll be by your territory soon, take care and good day." He hooted, before kicking off and heading for home. Fortunately, Crow was prompt as always and managed to scramble onto his back.

Feather cackled and gave Amberglow and her mus a last glance.

"Good day good day, good day, meeting again soon!" He yammered before dissappearing after his master.
