I think the MLS needs to be careful not to expand too much too fast. With Seattle and Philly already set to come in, I think the growth should be slow and steady. I am not against more Canadian clubs at all, but the market needs to be sound and be able to support a team.

I'm sure when innitially suggesting an expansion club, you look into the interest that it would draw in that area. For the Canadian side, out of all the places you could put an expansion club, Vancouver would be ideally it. Look at what Toronto FC has done so far. For the past two seasons, all season tickets packages have been sold out, they've been setting MLS attendance records, and so on and so forth. They've been really drawing some Canadian attention to the league, why not welcome that from elsewhere with these newer expansion clubs, whether Canadian or not?

Yeah, and vancouver is the one out of the two choices that is getting the most publicity. they're the only ones that I've heard about since mls let out the news that they would be adding another canadian team.

Toronto is doing well, but what will their long term success be? When the newness wears off, will they still do as strong? It is not a knock on Toronto at all, it is a question I have for any expansion team.
The league needs cities and teams that will be successful in the long term and not just the short term. I welcome any city and any team that will be strong for the league and grow the sport. I just worry that they are going to add too many teams too fast. Fast expansions have sunk many leagues before and I am concerned it will harm MLS in the long run.
The league has already had failed teams in US cities and I don't want to see any more failed teams any where.
I think there should be a focus on making the teams we already have as strong as can be and then go from there.
A Vancouver/Seattle rivalry could be interesting for the league. I Just worry with Seattle and Philly already slotted to come in and then adding 2 more? Might be a recipe for disaster.

The guy pushing for Ottawa has lots of $$$$. He is going to build a stadium too next to where they play hockey.
