He led her to the edge of the water, waiting patiently so she could drink. His ears twitched as he carefully survayed the area for any potential threat that could be around, though he also knew it was highly unlikely. But, he'd rather be safe than sorry.

"Yes... wonderful adventures." He admitted with a small laugh and a big smile, finally able to get onto what seemed to be a good topic. "And... you know... if.." He seemed hesitant though and cursed himself for going ahead and bringing it up, even when he'd decided not to. "You know if... you want more.." Ah, he felt embaressed... but it was silly to feel that way, Ayo was his mate!

"When you're better I mean.." He swallowed and laughed again, though it was a nervous laugh. He glanced sideways at his mate. "Because... I could have another turn at spending time with my cubs.." He finished in a rush, thinking it was very important and he hadn't done a very good job last time. He could only hope that his and Ayo's sons and daughters would come visit, at some point. "And... and it's with you so.." And then he was laughing hard, because once again he felt like an adolescant lion delving into waters he'd never tested before, when that was hardly the case these days.

Ayo stepped quicker and quicker as they neared the watering hole. She could smell the water in the air and it drove her to a near frenzy. Had she been strong enough she would have ran and lept into those cool welcoming waters. She waited with Kenai by her side, leaning against him for support and surpressed the urge to rush forward and risk further injury.

Finally she was able to bend down and let that wonderful wetness caress her tongue. She lapped it up greedily, feeling it slide down her rough parched throat and into her belly. Ah, water had never tasted so good.

She half listened as she gulped down the water and finally she turned to look at him, blinking softly. "Kenai... do you mean to say you want to have more cubs?" they had already been blessed with 6 darling children and she knew that Kenai had come from a large family...she just didnt think he would want more so soon.

As Ayo turned and looked at him and put his own question so bluntly his eyes went wide and he felt even more embaressed about it, thinking perhaps he'd asked too much of his wonderful, stunning mate. "Wha-no.. that is to say.." He gave her a sheepish grin and looked away slightly, just watching her from the corner of his eye.

"I mean, it's not like I don't think our children right now are bad or anything... I love them very much I just thought... you know it would be nice to have more and.." Right, he should be straight forward like his mate was being. "Yes." He finally spit the word out.

Ayo laughed softly and moved closer to Kenai's side nuzzling against him softly. With her body now able to start rehydrating, she was begining to feel better. That, appart from good sleep, a meal and over all bed rest was the final peice of the puzzle.

"kenai.." she laughed, though she didnt mean too, his bashfulness about the subject was just adorble. She missed that side of Kenai sometime, but his strength and warmth where things that she tresured. "If you want a larger family.." she nipped softly at his ear. "its fine with me."

He purred and laughed when she laughed, not feeling so embaressed any longer. He only felt a little foolish, but he knew it couldn't be helped. This was just how he reacted, and so be it. He nuzzled into Ayo's side, glad that she agreed to what he asked. "I think the bigger family you have the more love you can share.." he breathed softly, smiling as she nipped his ear. He lightly nipped her face, soft and harmless.

He took a deep breath and nodded, leaning down to lap up some of the water. It was decided then, when Ayo was better... "I wonder if our children will be surprised.." He purred out, thinking out loud more or less. He gave another soft chuckle before settling down, hoping Ayo would join them. "We should spend the day here." He suggested, feeling it would be better to relax for some hours before they made the 'long' journey back to the den. It would be a good, peaceful day. And though he was still worried, he was also able to be happy with the hopes of his family expanding again.
