(it will be prettyfied later. right now i just want to get it typed out)
So you want your lion to have a little more depth? fair enough! For this reason (and for others) I have created/torn apart and rebuilt/borrowed/hijacked a way to keep those with a little more of a mean streak busy, and those that don't enjoy RP, but do enjoy mindless things like rolling dice.
For now, benefits of stats will go toward your lion's ability to fight, but there is also a good use for them as well. When you first get a cub and are confused about what kind of presonality you want to give them, this basically will give you a randomized version of a lion, with little to no thought to you =P Benefits of having stats and going through the motions of battle will gain you prizes based on wins. RP battles will earn you double credit.
I would like to note, that you can fight yourself over and over again. (if you own two lions) it will be tedious, but i will allow it, just cause your'e doing double work willingly.
Now, lets get to the bread and butter shall we?
Every lion will have the following base stats.
Strength-- A little obvious, their physical strength Dexterity-- how agile they are in battle, or when in need to move out of the way quickly, stuff like that Constitution---determines how much health they have, how well their body can hold up basically Intelligence---Other than the obvious, will determine powers of certain classes. (classes will come later) Charisma---while mostly used for RP purposes, it can also be used for class abilities (again, coming later)
Those are the 5 base stats.
To roll these, there are different methods for each age level, which will be as follows. You always roll for their adult stats, and then subtract depending on age. What you roll will be their base stats at adult age. Certain thiings like items, special powers, companions, ect, can add to these stats, but you will know your adults stats right off.
Firstly, you will make five seperate posts. Each post will be labeled 'stat 1' 'stat2' ect, just so that we know that they are stat rolls. The dice rolls will be 4d6 (four six sided dice). Now, this is where it gets tricky. You will take the top three numbers, add them, and that will be your stat. so max, you can have an 18 in an ability as base stat.
If you roll any 1's at all, you have the option of re-rolling it in hopes of a higher number. How this is done is after the 5 rolls, you will then put 're-rolling stat 3' and reroll the 1's in it. If you got one 1, then reroll one six sided dice, if you got 2, reroll 2. ect. If you rolled three sixes and a one, you obviously don't have to reroll, or if you're happy with a stat, you also do not have to reroll.
When you're done rolling, you may place the numbers to any stat you wish. If you wish to become a warrior, by all means, put it in strength and dex, if you wish to become a magical class, intelligence and charisma are the way to go. And realize, you need not do anything fighting wise with your lions to become a certain class. There will be very large pride and solo aspects to classes. Each pride will also have their own special class.
Now, i know that's ALL confusing to some, so i will show an example by rolling up a character in the next five posts (or more if i roll 1's) But first, i will tell you how to get stats for other ages.
For the next step down (adolescents), subtract 2 from each stat. so that ten you rolled becomes an eight, for all five stats.
For Juvenilles, subtract 4 from the stats. so that 10 now becomes a six.
For cubs, subtract 6. Cubs are weak in whole, and very smushy. So that ten is now a 4.
Wins
As an adult or adolescent, fights count as 1 win. For juveniles they count as 1/2 and for cubs that count as 1/4th. To keep track of wins, journals are a great tool, even if you do not RP.
Losses are also kept logged. If we know how many fights your lions are getting into, they may mysteriously come down with a scar here or there, which is always exciting, adding +1 to intimidation (which will be explained in a different post)
So, keep track of what your'e doing! we will not do it for you.
So what follows will be stats for a random adult.
