 His eyes were focussed, his body tense and his mind clear of all distractions. Orion counted down in his head and he prepaired to pounce. 3...
2...
1..."AAaaaaaaaaaaah!!!" With a mighty battle cry... well, a loud kittenish noise, Orion leaped onto his prey. "Ha! That'll teach you to look at me funny beatle face!"

 Slowly moving into the pride lands she watched a young cub make a kill. Lucky, she never made a kill on her own yet and her parents had left her all alone so fend on her own.
A loud growl came from her tummy and she blushed as she moved at a quicker pace past the seen of batter and victory of the lion. Anyone with ears could have heard that growl. Too bad she couldn't roar that loudly.
The small green lion couldn't help but to look up to see if the other cub had seen her or heard her.

Orion's inky ears swivelled in place to point at the odd noise they'd detected. His wide eyes followed swiftly and set upon a green lioness his own age. She looked a little shy so Orion decided to introduce himself and become her friend.
"Hey there greeny."
He grinned lopsidedly, trotting over with the bouncing grace only feline cubs posses.

Kai looked at him and moved away from his quickly before another darker red blush came across her cheeks. She eyes him and smiled sheepishly. "He..Hello" She said and looked him over. She loves his spots.

Whaddya know, she is shy.
Orion thought, as he peered at the pretty cub backing away from him. Unfortunatly, Orion was not instilled with a natural nack for putting shyer personalities at ease. He went for the outgoing approach.
"Wanna be friends? I bet we'd make great friends and everything."
As he was chattering, Orion padded closer to the nervous girl.

Her eyes darted as she tried to figure out a clear answer to his question. She had no friends before. In a low, baby like tone, she replied, "Yes..." her voice squeaked alittle then her stomach growled once more. food was all she could think about but she didn't know the first thing about hunting.

"Woop!"
Orion did his own little victory dance in place, which involved spinning around a little bounces.
"What shall we do first then greeny?"
Orion inquired, only to be interupted by the growling of his new friends stomach.
Ah.
"Hunting then? You can have my beatle to see you through."

Kai didn't know why he danced, she just avoided the situation. "Be...bea..beatle?" She struggled with the word, only because she had never really heard it. Did he want her to eat a bug? Her face showed her in thought as she struggled to figure out what he meant.

He saw that his new friend looked lost again. He wanted to say that he knew the name of the beast through intelligence alone, but to be honest he's heard another lion say it a few moons ago. Orion answered her question by nodding enthusiastically.
"Mmm hmm!"
He grinned and pawed the smushed invertabrate closer to Kai.
"It's good, really. Eat up and we can go find more."

Kai looked at the bug and then struggled to lick it up off the ground and chew on it slowly. Her green fur, at first, shot up as it crawled around her mouth. Then she crunched down on it, her eyes went wide as she couldn't believe what she was doing, she chewed and chewed until he swallowed. She didn't say anything, she just stared at the bubbles on her feet.

Orion, as oblivious as ever, grinned cheerfully and tilted his head to the side.
"This way then, Greeny?"
As he looked at her, he noticed she looked a little puffed up - fur wise.
Hm... interesting... I wonder why...
Mentally shrugging, for he had a short attention span and was slightly self centred, he waited for her reply.
