*le sigh* I suppose I should change my siggy...
But that of course, brings me to another subject.
Screenshots. Many people make them. Is that wrong?
For example, I know a few people who take screenshots, edit them, and create banners and layouts. I really think it may not be fair to consider all of this art thievery. We wouldn't have some of the great website layouts we have. Infact, no one would have an anime layout period. That's why I do love some artist who put their work out and don't mind if people use it on their site. It's refreshing.

hmmm thats true. well i have a cosplay pics right now and there mine becuase im the one cosplaying. ill change it in a while.

KitsuneChan8888888 Gotcha, I'll change my signature. On a good note, Janime is deleting all their fanarts that they don't have permission to use. Go and check the fanart section on the site, it says so. biggrin Oooh, that is good news! ^_^ I'm very glad to hear that!

Actually, most DON'T mind at all.... as long as you ask, credit etc. ^^; However, most people just take. As far as screen shots.... well, as far as I know, there's absolutely nohting wrong with them. And they're not made by a single artists either- the original concept may be, but not in an animation.... Really, it's up to the copyright holders, none of which have ever (to my knowledge) objected the free advertisement. XD

AuroraDragonKaya KitsuneChan8888888 I agree that thievery is wrong, but I'm curious how this would work for a website like Janime that reproduced many artists' works and put them out for the public? Is taking Janime's fanart and using it in a signature wrong? (like mine?) I'm not sure, because I'm horrible with copyrights, but if it's considered thievery, I'll change my sig. It is wrong. Janime has no right to distribute that art, and didn't ask the artists permission. It's disrespectful to the original artists.... most of which don't even get any credit at all! (That's why Janime pisses me off- it encourages thievery and its a huge site to boot. >.<) Not to be snappy or anything, but I thought Janime did get permission. Not all of them, but most. I mean, what else would Janime do with the fanart sent to them? I'm sure that Janime wouldn't turn down an artist who asked them to remove their art. And recently (possibly before too) their fanart section's message is asking that if you do send in art to put your name on it.
Anyway, I think I'd be a hypocrite to say I'm against art theft. ><;; Because I have used many fanarts for this guild's banners and other things. So, I'll just try not to say anything against myself...
But, this doesn't mean we're taking down the banner thread, does it?
