So, what do you guys think of books that you have had to read for school? Right now I'm reading My Antonia, and I think it's pretty good as of book 2 of 5. But Oedipus, oh my! THAT was quite the adventure!

A book that I was forced to read was Pilgrim at Tinker Creek, by Annie Dillard. It sucked!! scream However, Never Cry Wolf (Farley Mowat) was one of the best non-fiction books I ever read. heart

They made us read Hatchet and later in the year The Giver. I try to read them first before the rest of the class does! smile

I didn't really like most of the books we read at school (espeacially T.C. Boyle, Arthur Miller, Günther Grass and Büchner talk2hand ), though Orwell, Shakespeare and Goethe were quite okay... but I REALLY like the stuff we are reading at university, e.g. Macbeth and Poe. It's also really nice that we got a long list of books and some rules about how many dramas, novels, poems etc. we have to read from that list, so we can chose what to read what not ourselves! (there's even lord of the rings and hitchhiker's guide among those thousand books!!! and my favourite, emily bronte mrgreen )

I had to read so many books in school over the years. I remember Tuck Everlasting (so sad) and the holocaust books. I also had to read books about the struggles of the thirties through the sixities. My favorite books were the True Confessions of Charlotte Doyle and the Secret Garden.
