Makaio: *happily nudges Lumi.* Long time no seeee.
Lumi- *happily nudges Makaio back*
Makaio: *calm shrug. If you know, deer can even shrug.* It's probably just because you're weird, Lummy.
Lumi- *pouty face and sulks* "I am not weird..."
Makaio: Yeah, you kind of are. But it's alright. The best Herla are weird.
Lumi- Raises an eyebrow at Makaio- "are you included in that little group?"
Makaio: The best? Probably not. The weirdest? Probably.
Lumi- *flicks Makaio with her tail* “so which category do I fall under? Hmm?"
Makaio: Uh...both, I guess? Both sounds good.
Makaio: Always moving me around.
Lumi- *tilts her head playfully* "what’s wrong with that? You’re like a gypsy?"
Makaio: It's not that bad, actually. I like new places. Old places get so...so old.
Lumi- "so is this place new? Or old?"
Makaio: This place? This place right here? *taps at the ground with what would be his hoof if he had any.* this place is old...and new, too, I guess.
Lumi- *tilts her head and smiles at Makaio* "I wonder if you'd be able to make up your mind? Maybe yes? Maybe no?"
Makaio: *looks thoughtful for a few moments.* If I had to...I'd pick no. ...but I've forgotten what I'm saying no to, so...
Lumi- laughs and pushes Makaio playfully- "I think at this point we're BOTH confused."
Makaio: Probably. *snickers, nudges her shoulder, then bounces to the side.*
Lumi- *GLOMPS!!! And runs away giggling in a graceful manner*
Makaio: *bounds after her.*
Lumi- *trips over her own two feet and stumbles into some bushes*
Makaio: *comes to a surprisingly agile stop.* Oh dear. That's not how you eat, you know. *tries to nudge her up.*
Lumi- -raises her head off of the ground a confused look on her face- "eat?" gets up shakily, stumbling a bit before getting a better stand. Then glances up to see leaves and twigs in her hair- "oh darn!"
Makaio: *chuckles and carefully removes a few twigs, then munches on some of the leaves.* If you were a tree, you'd be decently tasty.
Lumi- *pouts and shakes her head* "decent? I do hope by decent you mean EXQUISITE!" -Strikes a pose-
Makaio: *glances her over for a few seconds, then nods like a thoughtful artist.* Maaaybe, maaaybe.
Lumi- *fluffs her wings for a moment before looking at Makaio with a raised eyebrow, and in a Jewish accented voice* "again with the maybes!"
Makaio: *pricks his ears up straight at her accent, then lowers his head a bit, looking amused.* Talk like that again.
Lumi= *confused look* "um... vwhat are you talking about?" (Still has the accent going)
Makaio: *laughs.* your accent. Its strange sounding. Good strange, of course.
Lumi- *smiles and laughs* "vhy thank you young man, it iz always nice to hear compliments."
Makaio: *laughs again.* Where did you get that accent from?
Lumi- *chews at her lip nervously because if she starts talking about voices in her head she might seem slightly crazy... and not in a good way* " I um... I can't... I can't really tell you..."
Makaio: *looks briefly disappointed, glancing away from her, then perks right up again shortly after.* That's okay. Mysteries make people more interesting.
Lumi- *smiles gently and nods her head* "this is true, and we all know the world could use a bit more interest!"
Makaio: But non-interest is nice sometimes, too.
Lumi- *quirks an eyebrow* non-interest? What do you mean?
Makaio: *eases down to his front knees, then his hind, sitting a little awkwardly because of the position of his legs.* Just...nothing. Nothing with a lower-case n, of course, not an upper-case N.
Lumi- *pouts and trots over to Makaio, poking him with her hoof and nudging him with her nose* "what's the matter?"
Makaio: Hmm? *glances up at her, then smiles.* I'm okay. Promise.
Lumi- *glomps and rolls away a bit* "If you aren't, you'd better tell me, cause otherwise, it'll be a hoof up your a**."
Makaio: *snickers a bit, flopping to his side as he chuckles.* that doesn't sound comfortable.
Lumi- *gets in a little close and whispers in a conspiracy fashion* "between you and me... it's not."
Makaio: *glances around like he expects someone to be waiting around listening, then whispers in her ear.* between me and you...I'll keep that in mind. *gives her a lopsided fawn-like smile, then playnips her ear and looks pleased with himself.*
Lumi- *pulls her head back a surprised look on her face, only to quickly replaced by a mischievous grin, and glomps the Makaio*
Makaio: *laughs again, squirming away from her and then getting up on all fours.* can’t catch me. *lowers his head and looks like a cat about to pounce something, and then abruptly turns and bounds off.*
Lumi- *laughs and follows... all the while tripping in the bushes a few times*
Makaio: *continues to run, then suddenly stops and runs a circle around Lumi so that he's chasing her.*
Lumi- *realizes what's happening and squeals like she's being chased, trying to run away*
Makaio: *isn't especially fast, mind you, so Lumi could very well be actually running and Makaio would not be able to keep up. Slows down after a good few minutes of bounding after her.* Okay, you win!
Lumi- *slows down while slightly out of breath but smiles and trots back over to Makaio, poking him with her nose and laughing.* "Haven't acted like that since I've played with my..." *a sudden sad look crosses her face as a sudden sad memory crosses her mind* "never mind..."
Makaio: *gently noses the line of her jaw.* you’re what?
Lumi: -while trying to change the painful subject quickly, whips her head around, just barely avoiding hitting Makaio but still managing to get him in the side, screams- "TAG!" and jumps away out of reach.-
Makaio: *has his head bowed, looking a little...off. Smiles a bit weakly when she bounces away, but doesn't give chase.* I'm ... a little tired. Actually.
Lumi: *her smile disappears quickly and goes back to Makaio with a look of concern* "Oh, I'm sorry... are you alright?" -Tries looking around for a place that might be comfortable for him-
Makaio: *shrugs a little - again, as much as a deer can shrug - and offers the same half-hearted smile.* I'm fine. I'm...fine. *eases down to his knees again.*
Lumi: *nervously moves around Makaio like a concerned mother, nudging at him with her nose at different intervals of time, in an attempt of reassurance* "are you sure? You don't look fine? Is there something I can get you? Anything I can do?"
Makaio: *reclines on his side, meeting her nose once or twice with his own.* No, no. I'm fine. I promise. Just a little tired.
Lumi: *lets out a breath of air and gives Makaio an agitated look* "would you like to know why I hate you?"
Makaio: *looks almost startled, his ears falling back and his head moving away like he expects to be yelled at.* ...sure.
Lumi- *pushes Makaio with her head in a teasing manner* "cause you're prettier than I am!!!!"
Makaio: *looks fairly relieved, chuckles a bit, then nudges Lumi's nose with his own and smiles.* No... No, I'm not.
Lumi: -laughs and rolls her eyes- "ah modest to I see!" -Flicks him with her tail- "In fact, the first time I saw you, with out actually talking to you I thought, wow she is beautiful!"
Makaio: *laughs a bit at that, the kind of laugh where he has obviously heard these things before.* you’d be surprised how often I hear that. ...well I guess you wouldn't, actually.
Lumi: *smiles in a teasing manner* "Must get annoying, having all the bucks after you!" - Tries suppressing the snickers-
Makaio: *looks amused.* It always makes me laugh... Which of course gives it away, since I don't exactly have a doe's voice...
Lumi: *breaks down laughing for a few minutes just trying to imagine the looks on the male’s faces* "That would be GREAT to watch!"
Makaio: *smirks a bit.* I'll try to get one of them to do it sometime for you to see.
Lumi: *rolls her eyes* "I wouldn't think you would WANT to do something like that..."
Makaio: *shrugs.* I like to. It's fun.
Lumi: *giggles* oh ho~, you LIKE it do you? You think it's FUN to get hit on by males? Why Makaio, I wasn't aware you went that way
Makaio: *looks briefly perplexed, then shrugs a bit.* I guess it doesn't really matter to me. ...if that's what you mean.
Lumi: *gets an embarrassed look on her face and feels the need to explain what it was that she was talking about... so, she tentatively leans over to Makaio and whispers the explanation to him in his ear*
Makaio: *looks thoughtful after this explanation, then shrugs again.* don’t knock it 'til you've tried it, huh? *laughs like he really doesn't see the awkwardness in this situation.*
Lumi: *listens to her Guardian and decides what the hell?* "I don’t know, there's not much to try with does... Males at least have something to work with..." *looks thoughtful for a minute but is actually listening "at least Female creatures with paws have something to work with" -laughs awkwardly- "all we have is our horns... and I don’t think that would be too comfortable."
Makaio: *continues to look thoughtful.* ...well, yes. But some Delta do have rather...what's the word? Phallic, yes, rather phallic looking horns. I'm sure that would work out alright. And there is always the option of tails, isn't there? Hmmm... *is having a legitimate mental debate about this.*
Lumi: *sticks out her tongue* "there's always the option of tongues... although I would hate to see someone trying to... you know... with your tail!"
Makaio: It could be one of those long relatively hairless kinds of tails...
Lumi- *breaks down laughing* "Ok... Ok... I give up, no more, you win!"
Makaio: *laughs, then nudges her shoulder with his nose.* I like you.
Lumi: -raises her nose in a snobbish sort of way- "well of course you do! Everyone likes me!" -Flicks Makaio with her tail playfully- "duh!" *giggles*
Makaio: *just laughs, then yawns a bit and moves to get to all fours.* I ought to head back to den. It's getting late.
Lumi: *waves her tail and smiles up cheerily* "well it was nice meeting and discussing intersexual relations with you."
Makaio: *looks concerned.* you’re not too far from here, are you...?
Lumi- *laughs in an attempt to keep a cheery smile* "oh yes actually, I'm extremely far from here, but that's to be expected when one doesn't have an actual place to live anymore.
Makaio: Oh dear oh dear. How did that happen, pray tell?
Lumi- *thinks about it for a minute, twitching her ears slightly and swishing her tail, trying to decide on whether or not to tell the truth or a lie.* "I've always been a wanderer," She said with a slight smile on her face, almost wistful; "One day I just decided not to go back." -It was partial truth anyways.-
Makaio: *looks almost wistful for a few seconds.* I do that a lot, too. *nudges the line of her jaw again.* I'll walk you if you want me to.
Lumi- *smiles sweetly at Makaio* "That would be quite the long walk, and not one I really want to make. I usually just lay down wherever it is I think is suitable." *bumps her rump against Makaio playfully* "I'm a bit of a Tramp like that."
Makaio: *looks somewhat surprised by this gesture, less because he wasn't expecting it and more because he has no idea what it means. Rump bumps her back after a few seconds of thought anyway* Do you want to come back with me...? I mean, it's not safe out here at night. You ought to be careful.
Lumi- *raises an eyebrow and feigns innocence* "I don't know... I barely know you; I don't want to intrude on you..."
Makaio: *doesn't really catch on to this feigned innocence.* No, it's alright. It's a roomy enough den. And you can trust me, for the most part. *says this all in the same cheerful voice.*
Lumi- *laughs and shakes her head* "for the most part?"
Makaio: *just nods and doesn't say anything to confirm or deny, smiles, and nudges her in the direction of his den.*
Lumi- *trots forward a bit, trying to stop the nudging and giving Makaio a motherly disapproving smile. Like a 'behave' sort of smile. "You’re a little too eager to get me alone; I might just have to sleep with one eye open."
Makaio: I knew a Herla who slept with both eyes open. It was creepy. This way. *leads her through some thick brush.*
Lumi: *follows Makaio almost dutifully, looking at all the plantation around them. When they come to the cave she can't help but feel a little apprehensive, it was rather dark looking... But then again, it did also look safe. When Makaio told her to wait for a few moments she nodded her head- "sure thing."
Makaio: *walks in like he expects a bear might still live here, taking slow and careful steps, glancing back and forth while disappearing into the darkness. When he comes back out some two or three minutes later, he's still glancing around, but he looks a bit less apprehensive.* All clear!
Lumi- *eye twitch* "all clear?" -shock courses through her system, her wings ruffling slightly in a small amount of fear* "what's that supposed to mean?"
Makaio: *looks a little surprised at her sudden apprehension.* It means...that it's safe to come inside?
Lumi: *laughs awkwardly* "oh... ok..."
Makaio: *chuckles, then paws at the ground anxiously.* Come on in!
Lumi: *somewhat apprehensively trots up to the cave entrance, sniffing at it slightly, before looking over her shoulder at Makaio. She looked at his tail and figured she'd be safe if something dangerous came their way, and on top of that, the cave did smell pretty empty. So she walked in a little deeper, before stopping, waiting for her eyes to adjust to the darkness.*
Makaio: *still moves a bit hesitantly, occasionally freezing in his steps like a...well, like a deer in the headlights, before continuing on. It’s not a very high cave, but it's fairly long, and there are knickknacks of every sort all over the place. Circles when he comes to a clear, well-worn spot in the soil.* Here we go!
Lumi: had all the while been keeping rather close to Makaio, she didn't feel all that safe in the cave, despite the fact that he tried to make it seem as safe as possible. She looked around at all the little knickknacks, sniffing here a there and sneezing a few times at the dust. She shook her head to clear the newly formed cloud circling around her head and looked over to were it was that Makaio was looking. She raised her eyebrow questioningly.* "there we go? You don't sound too sure about that."
Makaio: *frowns a bit, tilting his head slightly to the side once again.* I don't? *starts to lie down, but can't quite do the usual kneeling position that most deer use, so he ends up sitting something like a dog before flopping to his side.* See, I'm okay. You'll be okay, too.
Lumi: *giggles at Makaio's odd position and pokes at him slightly with her fore hoof. She looked out at the opening of the cave, it was already dark and it would be rather hard to find somewhere else now... So, rather uncertainly, she knelt down, nuzzling slightly into her own scarf (cause she has one >>;; ) and smiling at Makaio* "If I don't wake up, you're a dead buck."
Makaio: *looks kind of dead the way he's laying, ironically enough. Even his breathing is a little bit slower. He smiles a bit, despite It.* Nothing'll happen. I promise. *sticks his tongue out at her.* Mostly because it would be kind of embarrassing to be haunted by a Herla and her guardian.
Lumi: *Wide eyes* "YOU have a guardian too???"
Makaio: *looks somewhere between confused and uncertain.* I...well, I have one and sometimes I assume everyone else has one, but you don't have to have one, too. That's okay.
Lumi= *is suddenly extremely grateful that it's slightly dark in the cave, because otherwise she's certain Makaio would be able to see her blushing.* "Um... well uh... yeah... see, I've never heard of anyone else really talk about their guardians... I've always kind of assumed I was just weird or crazy... or maybe a little bit of both..."
Makaio: *looks rather excited; whether Lumi can see that or not is up for debate.* Well, it's not always bad to be those things... But, but what's yours like?
Lumi: *gives an annoyed look over her shoulder, and shakes her head returning her attention back to Makaio, an exasperated look on her face* "There are two words that describe her... Bubbly." -She rolled her eyes- "and GIGGILY."
Makaio: Oh...lucky. Mine doesn't talk very much at all. ...but she's very useful when she does.
Lumi: *puts her head down, flattening her ears and attempting to cover them with her hair, which also covers most of her face.* "Trust me, YOU'RE the lucky one, when she starts to talk.... she won't stop. Especially if she has an opinion on the matter, apparently she used to make quite a deal of... money, doing that for a living."
Makaio: *looks intrigued.* really? I...don't know what my guardian did. She won't tell me any of that. She barely ever talks...maybe we could trade guardians for a little bit; wouldn't that be nifty?
Lumi: *moves some of her hair aside so her mouth and nose are pretty much the only things showing.* "Nifty? I'd love it; I'd get some piece and quiet." A small and genuine smile crossed over her face. "I remember when I couldn't hear her; it was so much quieter then." Her smile faltered for a moment as her Guardian said in an adult sort of a way* "And it was also a lot lonelier for you too."
Makaio: *shrugs and smiles a bit tiredly.* I like having her. She's a good guardian. ...sometimes, though...I don't know. I wish the Herla with seeing eyes weren't the only ones that could see the Guardians.
Lumi: *closes her eyes and makes herself a bit more comfortable, yawning slightly* "I think it would be a bit confusing, maybe even a bit annoying, I’ve heard from my guardian that some of the others are really talkative, or mean, or annoying. Pretty much just like a bunch of Herla in a pack, except that sometimes, they'll all start talking to the
Herla they look after and she say's it's hard to hear yourself think... I wonder if that's how it is for those that can see them. Maybe that's why the prince always looks so jittery...”
Makaio: *yawns, himself, and looks a little distanced.* I feel bad for the Prince...he can't do anything, can't be anything he wants to be...it must be awfully sad.
Lumi: *begins to drift off to sleep before getting out a lazy- "I wonder what he would do if he had a whole day alone to himself?"
Makaio: *smiles a bit.* Maybe he'll get one day. *lowers his head to the ground and watches her doze off.* See you in the morning.
Lumi: *would have replied but she's already asleep, though she knows she shouldn't feel safe in what's most likely a bears den, she can't help but feel somewhat protected having someone other than her guardian there with her. And for the first time in a long time, she dreams sweet dreams."
Makaio: *doesn't sleep for about an hour or so, just lying awake and thinking. Around when he does start to doze off, he glances over at Lumi and is actually happy, somewhere inside. He sleeps right next to her all night into the morning."
Lumi: *wakes up sometime before dawn. Feeling somewhat... refreshed, as if last night had been one of her better sleeps. She yawns sleepily, not yet fully awake, but as she does so she looks down to the warm breathing next to her and realizes, she'd been sleeping with Makaio. She can't help but smile warmly, until a look of stabbing pain crosses her face. Quietly and against the urging and well wishes of her guardian, Lumi rises, careful not to wake the sleeping beauty next to her. She can't help but smile fondly down at the male before making a quick retreat out of the cave. She tries not to look back, but has to at least once, the sun is beginning to rise over the mountains and she can see a faint shimmering in the cave, most likely from Makaio. Lumi lets out a heavy sigh as she looks down and around at the foliage, there are a few flowers here and there with morning dew frozen to them. Lumi supposes it might be cold but to her, it is still fairly warm. She picks a few of the flowers, storing them gently in her scarf before making her hasty retreat. After all, what good are chance meetings if you have nothing to remember them by? And what good are friends if everyone you love (be it a brotherly, sisterly, motherly, or even lover-type love), only leaves you in the end?
Makaio: *not usually a heavy sleeper, but dreams straight through Lumi leaving, not waking up until some time afterward. When he does finally get up, the sun has already traveled beyond the mouth of the cave and the doe's scent is somewhat there even if she isn't.* Lumi? *looks expectantly over his shoulder, then eases to all fours, walking outside the cave.* Lumi? *pauses for a few seconds, looking frozen in time with his ears up and out and his frame stiff. Nothing. Glances around for a few more moments, sniffing here and there, until he decides that she must've gone in the early morning hours. Hardly phased by this as he finds a patch of clover to nibble on for brunch. No goodbye is ever forever.*
