A Chef's job is to cook for his or herself as well as their crew, if they have one. A cook has three options, grill, fried or raw. They work as follows:

Grilled

Advantage: Grilled Food increases stats but only marginally. These increases do not come with any negative effects. Grilled Food only requires one cooking ingredient.
Drawbacks: This style of cooking doesn't give the user a large boost so it isn't as helpful as the others in terms of gaining advantage in a battle.

Fried

Advantage: Fried Food increases the user's stats dramatically. Fried Food is not as easy to make as grilled food but the effects of it are far better. However fried foods also have a negative effect.
Drawbacks: This style of cooking gives the user a larger boost but since fried food is unhealthy it causes negative effects 6 posts after the food is eaten. The negative effect of fried food is that the advantage gained is not only removed 6 posts later but half of the advantage gained is then subtracted from the chef's stats afterward, until the end of the battle.
For example, a chef with 10 stamina eats a fried dish and gains 10 more stamina, 6 posts later negative effects will kick in and the chef's stamina will be lowered to 5 for the rest of the battle.
Fried Meals exhaust 2 cooking ingredients per dish.

Raw

Advantage: Raw Food is the most potent of the three cooking styles. The raw minerals in it are very potent and because of this raw food gives the largest stat increases. However the negative effects of eating raw food are far greater than fried food. The potency of the raw food will not only lower a user's stats but will actually subdue them in sickness. After a certain number of posts, depending on the raw food eaten, the cook will have to stop fighting due to sickness. Eating more than one raw food will not have an effect on how fast the user becomes sick as their digestive tract wont be altered.
For example, a chef with 10 stamina eats raw food and gains 20 more stamina, depending on the dish eaten the user will have to stop fighting after a certain number of posts.
A check, with 10 stamina eats raw food and gains 20 more stamina, he/she then eats a raw food giving him/her 15 more strength, which ever raw food will make the user become sick first will kick in and the user will have to stop fighting then.

Raw Food exhausts a varying amount of ingredients.
