(Picking up from in-thread RP on pages 1827-1830.) Seth was positively beatific. Not only was he about to go hunting, but he was going hunting with what had to be the most beautiful Hyte in existence. He couldn't remember being this excited about something before in his life.
In an effort not to scare away present company however, the cheetah teen kept most of his emotions under wraps, only showing his thrill for the hunt with a wide grin. He was quite looking forward to the challenge actually, being that his companion had hinted that his speed would be of no help to him. "Lead the way, Kiyone-san," he said with a smile once they were outside of the Hytech building. Seth gestured for her to take the lead. "I have no idea where it is we're going."

It was obvious that the other was being overly happy about this hunting expedition; in fact, Kiyone could almost have thought it cute. Almost…because liking cute stuff was not her thing and to be honest, Seth’s open and eager nature was tiring the Iriomote girl considerably. She had always hunted alone and had not expected the other to take her up on her word but like a fish to a misplaced bait, the other had snapped at her offer. Flicking her ears slightly, the Iriomote teen silently led the way to a dense looking clump of bushes and trees.
“Here,” said Kiyone with a predatory grin. “You speed would be of no use to you here,”
Of that, the Iriomote girl was certain.

"Hmm..." Seth surveyed the dense clump of bushes and trees, ears flicking thoughtfully. "Well, maybe not in the traditional sense, but it could always help," he said with a slight shrug. In truth though the Iriomote girl really did have the advantage here. Wild cheetahs hunted mostly by sight and chase. Here not only could he not run full out, but he would also have a much more difficult time spotting prey. No matter, he would still try his best. "So, any rules for this little challenge here, or will this be more of a 'catch what you can' type thing?" he asked, stretching a bit in preparation.

Kiyone couldn’t help smirking a little as she eyed the other. Seth seemed to have second thoughts about this challenge judging by the thoughtful look he gave the undergrowth. Well, that would be his problem wouldn’t it? No one had asked him to accept her challenge.
But somehow, Kiyone was a little flattered that Seth had thought that going hunting with her was a good idea. Shrugging her shoulders, the Iriomote girl gave Seth a glance before speaking. “We shall hunt. The prey shall determine the winner,” said Kiyone in a matter o’fact tone before leaping gracefully into the clump of bushes. There was a soft rustle of leaves and then…silence.

Damn. She's good, Seth thought to himself as all traces of the Iriomote girl disappeared. Guess I'd better get started if I want any chance at this whatsoever. His mind being made up, he made his way into the thicket.
He quickly found that moving without making any noise was going to be a problem. I need to get out of these bushes, he thought to himself, surveying his surroundings. The cheetah Hyte approached a nearby tree and climbed up it, using the plant both as a place to hide and as a place to watch from. If I can spot any large prey from here they perhaps I could get the jump on them, he thought to himself, the end of his tail slowly flicking back and forth behind him. No, this style of hunting was definitely not his element, but he wasn't about to back down from a challenge either. Hm, if those were tall grasses instead of bushes I'd be set to go. Stupid branches. Alright, focus!
