HyTech - Kisuke

PostPosted: Thu Feb 26, 2009 10:36 pm

The teenage tanuki hyte clad in the customary white jumpsuit was sitting in the lobby with a small folded blanket over his lap (in order to hide, he told himself, certain interesting parts of his anatomy). Kisuke had his eyes shut tightly, deep in thought about the journey he was about to undertake. Well, it wasn't exactly a journey - more of a course on knightly behavior from Hybrid Technica's resident white knight.

He really didn't know what would be covered in the lessons about the justice bringers of old - or much about knights at all. Oh, he knew they were heroic, and chivalrous, and defended the helpless, but he didn't see himself as any of those words, really - though Lancelot certainly applied to all of them! The white knight was always ready to defend the latest batch of hytes, although Kisuke sometimes didn't get what exactly they were being defended from - Kamiko's superhero dreams didn't have anything wrong with them, right? But the white centaur had to know better than he did!

And the lessons would be far more useful than those shapeshifting lessons his mother had put him through - not only were they boring, thy really had no idea what she was doing. Most of his current skill had been gained through repeated practice, and not through her lessons. Honestly, the tai chi he'd begun taking recently helped a lot more than...that.

Tilting his face upward, the tanuki waited for his mentor to arrive.

Lance had been taking it slow to get to the Hytech building. He had been out for a morning stroll before his meeting with the Tanuki teenager. The park had had a brisk breeze, but the sun had warmed everything up, so hot on his face it nearly had him come out in a sweat. The sky was a perfect blue, the soft white clouds looking almost touchable. He had taken up these morning walks to get out and about a little more, seek some fresh air. He had contemplated bringing Kisuke with him, but he knew the young Hyte was self-conscious, so he couldn't make him walk out and about in such a state. Lance smiled as the Hytech Building came into view, and he quickened his step a little.

As he entered the lobby, Lance spied his young Squire sat on the sofas. He looked somewhat pleased to be getting lessons from the Knight, and Lance smiled at the back of the Tanuki Hyte's head. He pulled off his light jacket and scarf, hanging them up, and strolling over. His satchel was weighed down with a number of books, and Lance opened it up, fishing for his newest book that he was going to give to the Tanuki Hyte.

"Good morning Kisuke! How are you today?" He smiled and came around the sofa, kneeling himself down opposite the Tanuki Hyte and behind a table. Setting his book bag down, Lance pulled out a few of his books on Knighthood. He looked up at Kisuke with a grin and passed him a distinctly different looking book. For started, it opened the completely opposite way to all the others. Lance grinned. "I did some research for you. I remember you saying you wanted to learn... or more, your mother wanted you to learn about Shapeshifting and Transforming. I found this book, but I'm afrain it is in Japanese. I'm not sure how well you can read Japanese, but I'm sure you could find someone to help you translate it!" He smiled, tilting the book to look at the picture again on the front. A tanuki and kitsune were depicted between two humans that had distinct similarities to their animal counterparts. "The cashier told me it was about Shapeshifting and the legends that surround the two creatures depicted here, so I thought it might help you and your friend Katsu--su--... Katsu!"

Letting Kisuke peruse the pages of the Japanese book, Lance looked through the others he had bought with him, ones he could really get his teeth into. Knighthood, Chivalry and Arthur and his Round Table. Yes, some were story books, others history books, but all were more then helpful when learning of things concerning Knights. "Were would you like to start, my young Squire?"
