Runako pawed a bug, yawning loudly. This was boring....oh so very boring. Why in the world did he deserve this kind of treatment? Everyone else had someone to talk to, someone to be with, or at the very least a pride. Yet here he was, all alone, playing with a bug and hoping, as much as possible, that an easy lunch would just happen to stroll on by. Like that ever happened!
The little cub got to his feet and started to scroll forward into unfamilar lands. Maybe there were more food here, or new lions, or at least something better than a little old bug. If his parents cared, then they wouldn't of left him like this, or maybe this was a test. A test could be fun....a test meant there was a prize if you won. That must be it! Now, what could his parents want him to do? Catch his own lunch, find a pride, find a new lion, or survive the longest. Again the cub sat down to think, this time on a large rock, so he could scan the plains for anything new and exciting.

Minamo yawned loudly and stretched out, eyes half closed in laziness. It was a peaceful enough day, and rather uneventful. All she'd really done was laze about in the sun and chat with Majani, the lion who was staying with her temporarily. Mostly, she was bored, and a little hungry. Nothing a little hunt couldn't fix though.
Standing up, she shook herself to help wake up. Enough being lazy for one day! After blinking a couple more time, she raised her muzzle and gently drew in the air, shifting through the scents that filled her territory. The scent of some small animal stood out-rabbit, most likely. That would sate her hunger for a while. she began to trot, following the scent, knowing that she didn't have to be stealthy yet.
Suddenly, quite a different scent his her. A cub, alone. Odd, what was a cub doing out on his own? Tilting her head curiously to one side, she decided she could skip her little meal. A large rock loomed ahead, but from where she was standing all Minamo could see was a small, blurry shape upon it. What was the cub doing?
