I have TDT and I am on cogentin for it, but it incresses my risk for TD. stare What do you think I should do? Say on Cogentin and risk TD or live with TDT?

TDT is Tardive Dystonia and TD is Tardive Dyskensia (sp?)

i really dont know much about tdt but i have tardive dyskenisia and its a pain in the a** not too mention i get some looks though usully if i am keeping up with my meds the affects subside. so i guess its a question of what you consider to be worse?

I don't know. I deffinately don't want TD but I might not get it. My TDT makes me shake alot. I it really painful and sometimes I can't walk.

well then id stay on the meds. at least td is not painful. but thats just my opinion

They put me on cogentin even after showing early signs of TD. It's a tough call, but it's yours. I say try the cogentin but stop it if you start having increased EPS.

If you have distressing side effects as the result of taking a drug, you should alway discuss them with the prescribing doctor, as well as any other doctors you might be seeing. I guess you already know that, though.
Yuo might want to consider changing medications, if the side effects are intolerable. I did, though it was a liver failure thing rather than neurological. It helps to do your own research - sometimes the docs don't know stuff that they ought to. Probably because they've been bought by pharm-industry reps. rolleyes

Well the best thing to do would be to go off Abilify but I've alwredy tried all the other atypical anti-psycotics.
