I am captain of one guild, vice captain of 2, and crew in 2 others. My issue is with one I am vice of. I hate it there. The young girl asked me to be vice as a favor to her, but we have had a falling out (ie: she has driven me nuts beyond my breaking point.) and I REALLY wish to leave the guild, but you can't QUIT as a vice captain, you must first be demoted.
Problem is she won't demote me. The guild is pretty much a dead sinkhole of interwebz and a joke. It's really lame. She has not done a thing with the guild in months, though she HAS been active on Gaia. I have pm'd her repeatedly asking that I be demoted and allowed to remove myself from her guild, but she neither answers my letters nor demotes me.
I even started a Sticky Thread in the guild with the topic of DEMOTE ME!!!!
and explained the position I am in.
What do I do?

PM a Gaia mod, explaining the situation to them, and they should be able to demote you for you. smile

Could you get assistance from someone else? Promote a member, make them Captain, have them demote you and then promote the girl again?

New over throw rules prevent that, need a ban or 60 days since last cappy log in to do that now.
It is a really dumb new block, seeing as the captain has had to be really dumb to promote just anyone to VC.

I am Vice captain on one guild (my mule is captain) and the quit option is still visible. and a guild can have multiple Vices. promote someone new to vice and you should be able to have them demote you from your position.
or if all else fails sell the guild......though this is an option i do not recommend as a moral option, its still a path that can be taken

This is most definitely the best solution if you cannot work out a solution with the guild captain.

If you want to risk being reported and banned from the site. I would not suggest taking this course of action.
Further more, a vice captain cannot quit a guild [even though the button is still visible and click able], nor can a vice demote another vice.

I don't think a Vice can promote a care to vice either.
We used to be able to switch places with the captain, the captain for one of your mules, use the mule to demote your main to crew, member and banned. Then have the mule make the captain captain again. I liked that option. If the captain was stupid and immature enough to leave someone there who wanted to leave it served them right to log in, see their inbox and have a heart attack. A lesson learned, and with any luck the mule would be banned/demoted/dismissed too.
But nooooo
tl;dr - PM a GGN mod, any mod of the RG or Guilds regular forums.

Hmm... I actually have the opposite thing. I'm a captain with only one active officer of my 13 (or so) and a vc that doesn't even know the guild's name, much less post or even (god forbid) help me run it...

Not even close. You could demote the VC at any time, and (it sounds like) with the old VC safeguards (or lack of) you would have (or deserved to) lost your guild a long time ago, and I would have just laughs and exited the page.
