Since we've done some major guild renovating, our
introduction thread has been put in the trash, oh noez!
So here's
a place to introduce yourself
and meet other members.
Tell us a little bit (or a lot!)
about yourself!
(I'd like to see an entry from
EVERY member )
My name is Emi, I'm the captain of this guild.
I'm pretty much a fanatic of Japanese culture,
and I'm on the borderline of clinical
insanity.
I am OBSESSEDDDD with anime and manga,
and I'm a pretty big
gamer. I prefer Japanese video games over
all others.
(it's not that I'm biased, I just find
the quality and storylines of Japan-produced games
much better and far more creative)
I like RPGs and fighting games,
such as Final Fantasy, The Legend of Zelda, NARUTO CLASH OF NINJA!,
Fire Emblem, Pokemon, Soul Calibur, Tekken, and others I cannot recall right now...
OH! I'M A DDR PSYCHO! O:
I was pretty much raised with anime, even
though I didn't realize it at the time.
Growing up in the 90s',
Pokemon, Sailor Moon, and Dragon Ball
were at the peaks of their popularity,
and I was a HUGE fan.
All those shows
from the 90s' were kind of just
a part of American pop-culture,
and people really didn't recognize
the origin and culture of these shows, and stopped
following anime once they outgrew Pokemon.
I was one of the crowd who did
recognize this, and preferred anime over
American cartoons (I've been
considered a major geek for it). I went
a lot further with it as I got
older, starting out with
series like InuYasha and Rurouni Kenshin,
and the obsession grew a ton from there.
My first manga experience aside
from Pokemon comics was
Yu Yu Hakusho. My friend's
brother owned several of the volumes,
and lent them to me when I was
like 9 years old. I was pretty
much in awe with them,
and went further on a
manga craze.
There are a TON, but I'll try to list
some of the manga/anime series I like...:
Neon Genesis Evangelion, Fullmetal Alchemist, InuYasha, Bleach, Elfen Lied, Death Note (manga only), Ghost in the Shell, FLCL, Fruits Basket, Samurai Champloo, Rurouni Kenshin, .hack//sign, AIRTv, Ah! My Goddess, Jigoku Shoujo, Cowboy Bebop, Dragon Ball, Big O, Sailor Moon, Noir, Yu Yu Hakusho (manga only), Gunsmith Cats, Black Cat (manga only), the first season of Pokemon!, Naruto, DN Angel and more! o_o
TV shows aside from anime that I like are few,
but they include Invader Zim, Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends,
South Park, Family Guy, CSI; New York, Law and Order; CI, Scarred,
The Colbert Report, The Daily show, and a few others maybe...
As far as Japanese culture,
I think it's just a really exciting
country with an amazing history
and way of life
and intriguing customs that are
current.
Many aspects within Japanese pop-culture
are really appealing to me
as well
(such as the music, art, fashion, nationwide icons
and nationwide recreation/hobbies, etc.)
I love Japanese candy and junkfood!!!!
(the whole Japanland staff are die-hard
ramen and pocky fanatics)
I became interested in the culture
pretty separately from anime and manga.
As a little kid I found Japanese culture pretty
surreal and fascinating, and much more ideal than
American culture.
Asian culture in general has always interested
me, but it progressively boiled down more specifically
to Japanese.
I'm obsessed with art (in many forms), travel, MY WIFE (Meg, aka tick-tock BANGG. out of this whole list, she's my favorite :3),
culture, quirky things, and friends (like Lexa! aka My Chemically Altered).
I love storms and overcast weather, along with an infinite
selection of other things considered unconventional.
(like dysfunction, insanity and gore/carnage)
Cities and big places with a lot of culture and diversity
and stuff are neat.
Aminalz are friends.
I do listen to music, although it has been
a while. I like a lot of alternative rock and punk,
along with techno and electro s**t. I usually really
like soundtrack music from anime and video game
series. I really like do As infinity.
As a person, I'm EXTREMELY
anti-prejudice, and love diversity.
Unique people and things excite me.
I consider myself pansexual, I do NOT
believe in sexual orientation. I don't
think it's possible to only be able
of loving a specific gender.
I am random. In my mind,
it's good to be random. And weird.
Very, very weird.
People think I'm weird.
They're right!
