An Aimsir Chaite (on eye-m-shir kah-teh) - the past tense

(when forming the past tense, take the infinitive of the verb and add a h after the first letter (when a 'h' is added in this way, it's called a "séimhiú" (shay-voo)). If the infinitive begins with an "f" or a vowel, add a "d" with an apostrophe before the verb. Séimhiús do not appear with vowels)

mé - (may)
tú - (too)
sé - (shay)
sí - (shee)
sibh - (shiv)
siad - (shee-ihd)

Bris: to break (brish)

Bhris mé - i broke (vrish)
bhris tú - you broke
bhris sé - he broke
Bhris sí - she broke
Bhriseamar - we broke (vrish-ah-murr)
Bhris sibh - you broke
bhris siad - they broke

Féach: to look (fay-uhk)

D'fhéach mé - I looked (day-uhk)
D'fhéach tú - you looked
D'fhéach sé - he looked
D'fhéach sí - she looked
D'fhéachamar - we looked

Dún: to close (doon)

hehee i learned aimsir chaite in first yearour teacher wrote the rules like this.....

consain (consonant) - + h
gutai (vowel) - + d'
leathan (broad) - a o u á ó ú
caol (narrow) - e i é í
ar (?) - + h
níor (X) - + h

or something like that......x3
