Half Fish is a story about two scam artists who are selling what they claim to the the embryos of mermaids. Claiming them to be a far east delicacy, they make money off the ignorant saps of the world. Unfortunately for them, mermaids are real. One in particular doesn't like the idea of fetuses being harvested for profit... Until she learns it's all just a scam. What follows is a series of hilarious events, as she decides she wants in on the scam.

Half Fish is the third short film from Director Matt Pniewski, and is scheduled for an October 2009 shoot. The film was inspired by his love of fairy tales, dark comedies, and a passionate love for the off-kilter.The Film stars Marlo Musiel as Lemaris, the femme fatale who causes chaos for the two con artists. Gus Gustafson and Andrew Dameron play Jerome and Maxwell, the con artists who have a bit too much on their plate (and it's more than just fish).

Eric Durhame, www.themertailor.com, has been give the task of making a beautiful yet realistic mermaid out of the human Marlo Musiel. Along with Make Up designed by newcomer Kathryn Powers, of course. Production Design has been handled by Amber Workman of www.screamdreams.com. Large Medieval sets are currently being built in the small town of Woodridge, Illinois, before being moved to the Arabian Knights farm in Willowbrook, Illinois, where filming is schedule to begin on October 5th, 2009
