Bramble
They were gone. Everyone was gone. The pup whimpered as she looked around the darkened forest, her tail tucked all the way between her legs. What was she going to do now? Three days ago, when the thunderstorm had seperated her from her family, the pup had thought she was lonely then. But now.... Now that she'd made it back to her den and found it deserted with the smell of humans overwhelming... It was a whole new kind of loneliness. A low rumble from the pup's stomach reminded her of her hunger and how she didn't know how to hunt.

It seemed her fate was to die out here all alone and so she raised her head to the sky and let out a mournful, yet soft, howl, crying despertly for her mother. Maybe, by some chance, she'd come.

Doubtful.

Loopy
Closer.... closer....now! Loopy released his tensed muscles and leapt. His front paws landed on either side of the hare he'd been stalking and strong jaws brought the frightened creature a swift death. With a proud smile, Loopy looked down on his kill. Sure, it wasn't big, but it was enough to fill his belly and that was good enough for him. Hopefully Rag could find himself a meal. The varg grinned to himself and bent to pick up the carcass when a heart-breaking howl rang through the trees. Loopy paused, his ears twisting toward the sound. Now what poor creature had made that noise?

The kerl picked up his rabbit and with near silent footsteps headed for the source of the noise, expertly picking his way through the trees. What he found nearly made him drop his meal. His eyes had fallen on a sobbing, half-starved pup out in the middle of nowhere. "Sweety? Hey, where are you parents?" Loopy asked softly as he stepped forward and set his rabbit down in front of him. "Are you hungry? I've got some food if you'd like." He listened despertly for the pup's parents, but as far as he could tell, she was all alone.

The pup looked up with a start at the male's soft words, her ears flicking back and flattening against her head. Well, he wasn't her mother, but the rabbit he was carrying made him almost as welcomed. "I d-don't know." She sniffled as she stood and stumbled over to him. "I got l-lost and when I got b-back... They were... were g-gone." She whimpered, nuzzling against the male's leg, desperate for comfort. "My M-mother and my brothers a-and s-sisters.... They were just gone! And I sm-smelled humans and..." She broke down sobbing into his leg, unable to say anymore.

"Oh..." Loopy felt himself ready to cry as the pup told her story and started crying into his leg. "There, there, sweety. It'll be okay." He promised as he bent his head to gently nuzzle her's. "It'll all be okay." There was no way he was going to leave her out here on her own, and whether Rag liked it or not, Loopy was determined to raise the young pup. "Here, eat some food. You look hungry." He added comfortingly as he licked the top of her head lightly. She definetely needed the food more than he did. "Sweety, what's your name?"

As the male murmured comforting words, the youngster felt her tears start to subdue until she finally was finished with her tears and only sniffles remained. She nuzzed the kerl's leg once more before she slowly moved over to stuff herself with the dead rabbit. It'd been a few days since she'd eaten and her small stomach was completely empty. Once she was past her intial starving hunger, she looked back up at the male. "Name? I don't have one... M-Mom was always busy and stuff... She called us all Pup." It hadn't ever seemed abnormal to her, but now that she thought about it... "What's your name, Mister?" The young she-wolf asked before she bent her head to take another mouthful of rabbit meat.

No name? No family? Oh she was most definetely coming home with him. As the pup asked him his name, Loopy smiled warmly and lay down to watch her eat. "My name's Loopy." He hesitated, not wanting to upset her or rush her. She was hungry and she deserved a chance to eat her fill. Once he was convinced that the orphaned pup had had enough to soothe her hunger, Loopy took a deep breath before he smiled at her. "So... I was wondering, would you like to come live with me? I know you miss your family, but you'll have plenty to eat and my mate and I will take care of you. What do you say?"

She stared up at Loopy, her eyes wide. "C-Come live with you?" She'd never had a dad before... But what if her family was still out there? What if they were looking for her? That was when she stopped and actually thought about all the times that she hadn't gotten food because she was the runt and all the time that her mother had ignored her for her siblings. Of course she still loved her mother, but... But this male seemed to care for her more than her mother ever had. He'd fed her. He'd comforted her. He seemed like someone who could love her as a daughter and not ignore her for someone else. "Well, I've never had a dad before..." The pup finally said, her voice soft and hesitant as she looked up at the male.

Loopy smiled warmly and stood to move closer to the pup. He nuzzled her head softly. "Well I've never had a daughter before, so I think this will help us both, don't you?" He waited for her to finish eating completely before he smiled. "We're going to have to find a name for you, and you'll have to meet Rag, my mate. You're going to have two dads now." They'd be an odd family, but Loopy was determined to make them a family none the less. "Now come, let's get you back to your new den so you can get some rest." He nudged the yawning pup toward the path that led back to his home. Nothing bad was going to happen to her ever again.

Wasn't Rag going to be surprised when he found out?
