Loopy sighed lightly as he neared his den. Rag was probably worried about him. He'd be gone all night and there had a horrible storm that had passed through. Then again, seeing him probably wasn't going to relieve Rag all that much as he as soaking wet and it was obvious that he'd been in a fight. His injuries weren't too bad, but he did have a number of scratches and claw marks. The kerl stepped into his den and looked around with a smile. "Rag? Hey Rag, I'm home!" He called cheerfully, as if he hadn't been gone for hours without warning. Hopefully Rag would like his.... surprise as well.

"Daddy Loopy!" Bramble exclaimed in excitement as she bounced over to the older wolf and nuzzled against him. "I was worried about you! There was all this booms and flashes and, and, it was scary." She whined as Loopy bent his head to nuzzle her back.

The kerl chuckled and licked at Bramble's head. "Well I'm alright, Sweety. Just got a little wet."

It had been a rough night.

Normally, such storms wouldn't have put him so on edge, but that night, Loopy hadn't come home. He had gone out earlier in the day, though for what point and purpose Rag did not know, and as the hours passed, he had begun to feel less and less at ease. A change was coming on the wind, one that spoke of violence and of anger, of storms and of turbulence. It was the type of change that caused any varg in their right mind to find shelter, for the downpour was not far off.

Loopy, however, did not come home.

At first, Rag had merely thought that he was too far to make it back and had, instead, found a different place of refuge. He would wait out the storm and come home, safe and sound, and all would be well in their den. It was this that he told Bramble in an attempt to calm her, for she, too, was worried about the tan and cream varg. Placated by his own thoughts, they had settled down in the relatively warm den, their body heat bouncing off the walls and rapidly making it warmer. It wasn't a fancy den, really - merely a hallowed out cavern in the hillside, with shrubs and tall grass hiding and camouflaging it against danger. Nevertheless, it was big (or what could be considered big when shared by two adult males and a pup) and warm, which was all that mattered, in his mind. He had taken to licking Bramble's head, a gesture meant not only to relax her, but to ease his troubled mind. It did neither of these things.

Soon, the storm was upon them. Roaring wind was only ever interrupted with trembles of terrifying thunder and flashes of white, hot lightening as it streaked across the cloud-darkened sky. It wasn't long before Bramble had curled into his belly, attempting to hide from the sounds and sights, looking like she thought the storm was a beast that could walk right into the den and eat her up. More than once he had to tell her that it wasn't going to hurt her, and that it would all be okay, it would all be okay. Storms were usually only ever an hour or two long.

Not this one.

It lasted through the night, to a point where both he and the pup passed out from sheer mental exhaustion. When he woke, the earth was soaked, and the den had small puddles forming here and there that indicated the water table had reached it's limit. When he stood, his muscles ached and his joints popped, and his head throbbed horribly. After this, he looked around, and was shocked to find that Loopy had still not returned. Dread hit him like a brick, and his legs suddenly felt heavier than an oak tree. Not shortly after this, however, there was a call from the entrance tunnel, and his heart soared with relief. Bramble was the first to greet the other varg, having rushed out of the den like a mouse from an owl, but Rag wasn't very far behind and was soon licking and touching and coveting his mate. His tail waved back and forth like a flag in joy, and he circled Loopy more than once, rubbing against him affectionately. It was only when he pulled back that he noticed the scratches and claw marks, and he froze, standing still once more.

As his eyes met his mate's, they darkened slightly.

The cream and tan varg smiled and returned his family's affections. He licked and nuzzled them, his tail wagging quickly. However, as Rag's eyes darkened, his tail lowered some. "I'm okay, Rag." He reassured with a soft smile as he rubbed his head against but the other's chin but soon added softly. "There was another varg. He was attacking his pups. I had to stop him." Loopy pulled away with a frown before he licked Rag's cheek and stepped out of the den. Soon, he returned, the injuried Heret hanging gently from his maw. Behind him, followed Balin and Jet was most likely close by. Loopy set Heret down infront of Rag's front paws. "I found some herbs to stop the bleeding, but I don't know what else to do." He admited as he bent his head to lick Heret's gently.

Heret whimpered lightly as he was set down on the damp cave floor, but soon began to relax as Loopy's tongue bathed his head and a warm body, presumably Balin, snuggled against his side. The golden pup's face had been mostly cleaned of blood, but that just made the horrid gash of where his eyes had been that much more distinct. The herbs that Loopy had used had done the favor of numbing the pain down to a dull ache, but the consuming blackness of his surroundings made Heret uneasy.

Balin cautiously eyed Rag and Bramble as the silver pup lay at his brother's side. It was obvious that Loopy trusted the pair, and since Loopy had saved him and Heret, Balin felt that he could trust those that Loopy trusted. Thus, he was able to relax.....mostly. There was still that jerk, Jet. To think the other pup was actually going to be staying with them.

Bramble was so excited to see her winged father that she actually whimpered when he stepped out of the den again. He couldn't be leaving already! But Loopy soon returned and the pup's eyes widened as she noticed not one, not two, but three new pups. And they were all boys. Bramble stared before she suddenly exclaimed in delight, "I'm getting brothers?"

Jet followed Loopy, Heret, and Balin cautiously. Sure, he had agreed to stay with them, but it was by no means a permanent thing, and he was sure it'd be helpful to take note of the surroundings, so that if he had to leave quickly, he'd know where to go.

He let the others enter the den first, and was shocked by the responses he saw. He didn't know what to expect, but it certainly wasn't a happy family. They seemed ecstatic, something he wasn't used to seeing, and he felt as if he were intruding. Flatening his ears, he backed away.
