Premise: With half of the participants remaining, GTB is now halfway through with a few more rounds until its conclusion. Through a series of three rounds, fighters have proved themselves of their prowess and ambition to win thus far, and move one step closer to their destination: the championship. However, as the numbers dwindle down, the competition increases, as the best are narrowed down and each comes with an equal amount of skill. It is going to take experience, intelligence, and even luck at this point to determine who goes on and who goes packing home.

Midus Sonners has also decided to increase the presentation of the fighting arenas that the fighters are going to be taking place in for the duration of the tournament. While keeping with the Colosseum theme, Midus will be including variations of themes to keep things interesting and not as boring as a plain sandy ground with some walls and people watching you. That is why he has sent all the fighters to another venue for their fights. This time, with all fighters on board a plane, the crew flew themselves to the southern coast, a place caused Myamu Beach. Normally a vacation resort, the entire span of the beach has been reserved for the entirety of round four. People will be scattered around each fighting site to watch the fighters go at it in a nightly beach arena. While to them it seems like entertainment, to the fighters this is life or death.

Description: The sun has set, bringing about the darkness of the night over the entirety of the beach. Instead of artificial lighting being used, natural fire has instead become its substitute, bringing about a constant changing hue of orange overlaying the beach and its occupants. The beach spans for a good amount of distance, so each fight will take places in its own "section" which will make it seem separate from the other far away fights.

Each fight takes place in a ring of fire, which is basically a large circle of the sandy beach. Outside this fire, spectators watch, either standing or sitting in chairs, laughing and talking as they enjoy their drinks, food, and conversation. While this may be a competitive tournament, this scene of "entertainment" has placed increasing obligations on the fighters themselves to keep the audience entertained. Unlike the normal arena, the people are closer than before and their boos, cheers, and comments can be heard a lot clearer and louder. This means the fighters will have the psychological element added to the fight, much like the closely watched fights such as wrestling and boxing. Expect a noisy atmosphere.

Field Measurements: The ring of fire has a diameter of 45 yards, which is 135 ft. For those who need a comparison, just look at a football field and see the distance from one touchdown line to the 45 yard line. On the boundary of this circle is a series of lit fires on wood, which are as tall as only one to two feet. Spectators are spaced twenty feet away from this boundary in order to avoid possible injury from the fight.

User Image

Ten Count Boundary: Going outside the ring of fire will result in the starting of the ten count. The flying rule remains intact.

Added Penalty: Harming spectators is a no-no. Any intentional action against them that ends up hurting even one will result in a DQ. This can be either direct (going up to one and hurting them) or indirect (using a very dangerous attack that has a possibility of hurting the spectators). Accidents will be gauged to see whether it counts as an accident or was considered recklessness by the user.

The dragon waded through the crowd of spectators, giving a false smile as he trudged through the ocean of sand. If nothing else, his opponent might have a bit more luck in the sand than Vince was having, simply due to the fact that he was heavy, and his feet sunk in the unstable substance. He moved easily enough, but it was going to be said that he wouldn't be able to move as fast as he normally did in a ways of straight up sprinting. Regardless of fact, the dragon was feeling mixed emotions going into this fight.

For one, he'd barely survived the match with James Eredas; and though he had been victorious, it'd been at the cost of his left arm, ripping and shredding muscle and bone. Although that had been fixed by the magical healing of the staff, Vince felt the pain, felt the agony that had accompanied the explosion taking place in his veins. The agony, the pain, the injury, had all helped to further his cause; he was here to win this tournament, and he'd taken so much damage already that he wasn't going to go down easily.

He walked through the ring of fire, and took his place, standing idly about towards the center of the ring. His right hand was lifted above his head, and gripped tightly at the hilt of the sword; ripped up and shredded as it was from his clawed fingers shredding into it. Here, the dragon would wait.

Then...

"Sword?"
"........check!"

"Breastplate?"
"........check!"

"Buckler?"
"........check!"

"Gauntlets?"
"........check!"

"Shank?"
"........check!"

"Sexy masculine aura?"
"Do you even have to ask?"

"Ha, ha, ha. Go get em' Tiger!"
"Don't I always?"

Five seconds ago...

"Strippers. Gotta love 'em."

Benjamin gave a soft chuckle as he approached the ring of fire, thinking back on the events of minutes past. For it was so true, in no matter what their guise be it pole dancers or escorts, strippers were always the best way to pregame a fight. Everything he paid for the services before hand, he felt refreshed and renewed as they repaired both his body and ego.

Not that he really needed it with the low amount of damage he recieved last round but he felt the extra boost was necessary when dealing with his new advesary. Afterall, this was the dragonkin who had taken Eredas outta of the tournament. James Eredas, his past team leader and hard son-of-a-btich that never went down without a fight. A man he held a lot of repect for and thus in transit he held alot of respect for his new opponent.

So he had pulled out all the stops. Hookers, spa treatment, equipment upgrade, the whole shebang. All for this one moment.

-----

Now...

"Umph!"

He let out a little grunt of effort as he went from a slow walk to brisk run a little more quickly than necessary so that he could clear the line of fire and keep on coming. Going almost full tilt at his opponent with his arms pumping at his side, sword in his right hand and buckler in his left, kicking up sand as he went. His only form of greeting and sportmanship was this simple phrase and the distance between them.

"It's game time."

Simply no time or need for pleasantries as real men spoke with their fists, swords and the letting of blood.

The dragon's eyebrow raised in slight amusement as his opponent, apparently bat-s**t crazy, began sprinting at him in the sand. The dragon's simple reaction to this, was the movement of hefting the massive sword from his back, allowing the tip to rest against the ground as it always had in previous rounds. No action was to be taken defensively yet, as Vince had a few seconds before his opponent's sprint through the heavy sand, no doubt slowing him down at least to a minor extent, would reach striking distance.

Instead of getting bat-s**t crazy right back with the man, the dragon grinned, and in that instant, the sand around him burst up into the air, spinning, floating about his upper torso, and part of his face. Seemingly suspended in the air in some sort of floating net, the sand would hang about, a heavy cover of off-white grains, not revealing anything to Benjamin. On Vince's side, his lips twisted up into a sadistic grin, realizing that his power had extended; he was no longer bogged down with waiting so long to transform.

Vince now had the energy to transform after only a second or two of concentration, gaining all of the energy that had taken him ten to fifteen seconds to gather before.

"Woah!"

Benjamin was no longer charging towards an HUEG knight but rather a HUEG Sandstorm where his opponent used to be, and based on catching a few replays here and there as well as hearing bit of conversation as he walked through the hotel, he had some idea of what just happened. It didn't make it any less surprising to see it in the flesh, especially since this telltale sign of Vince's move from man to beast was much more flashy in the sandy arena.

But even thought he knew he was now rushing towards an even more deadly foe than before, he kept on coming. His stride may have sloppy for a second when the shock had rocked him but his legs didn't stop pumping. So what if he couldn't see his opponent? He could still see what was important, his opponent's weapon, as the sword was to large for a bout of earth manipulation centered around it's wielder to obscure it. And with that information in hand Ben drew closer and closer, his precise course of action determined by whether or not that blade moved.

The prince was hoping that the tornado of sand that obscured his opponent would also obscure him, but he had no guarantees as he knew not how this process worked. So he's simply watch and run until he drew upon the 4~5 foot mark at which point he would take one of the following courses of action.

A) If the sword stayed stationary and the sand screen held to this point, he'd leap forward turning clockwise as he flew towards his opponent so that his shoulder and the buckler pressed against it would be presented first and foremost. His right hand would be holding his sword up high such that he could get some real damage in if the moment presented itself but exactly what would go down once he left the sandy floor depended on how Vince reacted.

B) If there was a more immediate reaction before he got to that point, he would angle his charge off to his right and away from the large blade, content to strafe around his opponent's left side for the time being.

(Sorry for the slowness of my posting; been having a rough time lately, trying to get caught up.)

"Isn't it.. Glorious? Doesn't the view of this sand covered landscape just get the blood PUMPING?!?" The voice was heard behind the sand-wall, booming, laughter welling up in the throat of the monstrous man. Now, obviously the man behind the giant obscuring wall of floating sand and dirt could see; the wall had only risen to the bridge of his nose, his eyes, for the most part, clear to see his opponent. The man, of course, didn't move.

No, his opponent had fallen into a trap that his first opponent had fallen into; he'd rushed the dragon, regardless of the sword's dimensions. The sword was six and a half feet long; however, it was a hand and a half sword, meaning that the hilt was a foot and a half long in itself. Vince's sword was positioned as it normally was, meaning that the tip of the blade was placed out in front of him, the blade angled downwards away from him, the tip touching the ground probably four feet away.

Benjamin stepped into the kill-zone in his blind rush, but what was better, was that Benjamin had two things to do. One was, when Benjamin rushed into the usage point of Vince's sword, he leapt, turning his buckler towards Vince to protect himself; obviously at this point, Benjamin was too close to be stabbed head-on, or to be gutted, so that meant the sword wasn't an immediate threat head on. What was a threat, however, was the explosion of sand as Vince's energy burst outwards, sending a blast of sand and dirt right for Benjamin's face, aiming to bring the shield into use.

Now, if Benjamin brought the shield into use, he'd obviously fall into the ploy of Vince's. As the wall of sand burst outwards, Vince's sword twisted in his hand, meaning the blade was now sideways, having moved from its original position of pointing at the ground and at the sky. What's the big deal in that? Well, Benjamin jumped, and he was inside the sweet-zone for the sword. Why was it pivotal that he jumped, you ask? Well, his forward momentum carried him forth, now; his feet were no longer on the ground, and he made the dragon's sword-stroke that much easier; now he no longer had to worry about cleaving the man in half at the hip.

No, Vince's arm raised, just after the sand exploded outward and the sword was turned to the sides. The arm raised to a little bit below Vince's shoulder level; with Benjamin's jump, probably right above his knees, right where his thighs start, and with a rumble of laughter, Vince ripped the sword from the right side of his body to the left.

If Benjamin were to block the sand, he'd take the sword to the left thigh, possibly, very possibly, cleaving the leg off right then and there. If he blocked the sword with the buckler, well, it was very possible that he would be spared immense pain for the loss of vision due to well.. being blasted in the face by a s**t-ton of sand.

Charge = 0 (Discarded a charge to blast the sand away; no transformation due to lack of concentration.)

Benjamin was a fool, there was no denying that, but he wasn't a complete fool. He knew trouble when he saw it, and that big a** sword of Vince's was Trouble with a capital "T". So as said previously, he was keeping a vigilant watch over it. Didn't matter that he had got this far without it moving, especially when he got close enough to see that he wasn't as invisible as he thought. Little things, like exactly how the sand tornado was, were hard to gauge from a distance but up close and personal he could see those orbs watching him. Which made the fact that he wasn't being assaulted even more peculiar.

Or at least it was before he caught the sand tornado spontaneously combusting in his peripheral, blasting sand in the direction of his head. And as Vince may have expected he moved he shield, shoving it forward and up to divert the sand away from the sensitive organs on his face. The grainy particle having to settle for dirtying up his golden locks instead. However, unlike what else Vince may have assumed about this course of action, the protection of his face in no way stopped him from viewing the dragon-kin's followup. For bucklers were relatively small shields, giving up widespread protection for versatility and thus would not hide what was going on his sides. He could clearly see that big slab of metal moving, like a Grim Reaper coming up to greet him with it's sharp kiss of death.

But alas-what could he do? He was stranded in midair with nothing to bound off save for the air and he was no aeromancer. Good thing he was a quick learner, a person apt to create things up on the spot or turn accidents into signature moves. And in this case, Benjamin would go for the later, bring back a technique he had stumbled upon in his match with Omi. A move that would here-after be known as the....

THUNDER BOUNCE!

A move in which Benjamin utilized the concussive force of his chaotic electricity to explode him in a general direction, giving him some ability to alter his mid-air trajectory. In this situation, with Vince's blade bend on separating his thighs from his shins, Ben was going to tucking his legs in as he shot his power out of his boots. The non-charged blast was bit smaller than those utilized during his bout with Barsait, especially without the storm to augment them, but they would get the job done by exploding he feet several inches upwards. This combined with the tucking of his legs would give him a little forward torque as well so that in the end, he'd be vaulting over the hefty blade as it slashed beneath his curled knees.

Now with Vince caught mid-swing with his large blade and thus unable to make any quick turnabouts, Ben would strike. His altered trajectory putting him at height more suited for flying knee strikes than the shield bashing he had been planning. But shield bash he would, swing his arm forward as he was throwing a left hook except their was bucker attached to his fist adding more UMPH! and range. Meanwhile his raised right hand was also poised to strike but in a different manner, depending on just how Vince reacted to this turn of events.

And although Vince couldn't quite see it nor understand it's meaning, Ben's left fist was holding the buckler's handle awkwardly. The thumb held against his pointer instead of across his ring finger.

Thunder Bounce, shoulder-check. Shoulder-check, Thunder Bounce. It's a pleasure of mine to introduce the two of you. Vincent grinned as he saw that his plan had been thwarted, but instead, the dragon pressed action, as he always did. By this point in the tournament, it was bluntly obvious that Vince's point of attack was straight-forward, regardless of injury to himself. Examples of this being James Eredas' stab to his arm, in which he retorted by clamping down on James' exposed arm. Another example is in the first round when Vince fought Emkay, and literally took a grenade-typed explosion, shattering his right arm and blowing him back, only to allow him to punch Emkay so hard that a crater was created in the sandy-arena floor with his head.

That being said, Vince's counter was obvious, and was made in as quick of an adjustment as Benjamin. Now, Benjamin's thunder-bounce and his leg-tuck was really.. sudden, no doubt. Not only had he managed to block the sand with the buckler, upon which he held an odd grip, Vince noted; but he also managed to jump up and over the massive sword that Vince swung single handedly. Why is it mentioned that Vince swung the sword with one hand, you might be asking? Well, it was quite obvious to anyone who knew how the human body worked. Vince swung the sword with the right hand; obviously, the sword would be making a pass under Benjamin sometime around the same time that Benjamin threw the left hook with the buckler; seeing the connection, yet?

Vince's mind was thrown into high-gear as this was noted, especially with Benjamin's height, and the fact he was throwing a hook, a punch normally taken from the outside coming in, not like a straight-forward jab, or a normal shield bash straight into someone's face. Instead, the fact that Vince was swinging the sword, heavy as it was, would already create a dip in Vince's right shoulder as his body strained to swing the heavy sword, meaning that Vince's right shoulder was going down, his head following the motion. Add to this the fact that Vince's right arm was lower than shoulder-height to attain the cleaving of Benjamin's thighs, well, you'd have a really low shoulder dip.

Of course, Vince knew that wasn't going to be enough, so instead, he took a three inch step with his right foot leading, bent his knees, and drove the right shoulder home right into Benjamin's chest, right above the edge of his knees. Vince was not to get away from this scenario unscathed of course, because even though he'd lowered his head, and Benjamin's shield strike was aimed high the first place, the shield caught Vince in the back of the head, causing his head to swim just a little bit; really, it was a glancing blow and did nothing but sting.

What Vince was worried about was the fact that Benjamin's knees were tucked in, and as Vince was to drive Benjamin into the ground by shoulder-checking him mid-air; shoulder into his upper body, Vince was well aware that as they came down hard with the dragon-kin on-top, Vince would land on Vince's knees, the knees coming in somewhere around his ribs and his lower abdomen. As bad as that could be for Vince, it would be worse for Benjamin, because although sand may blanket a smashing onto your back, it wasn't going to help your confined legs as a 250 lbs man slammed forcibly ontop of you.

The dragon was quite sure that this would go through; after-all, Benjamin had immediately responded to the sword slash, and Vince had accordingly done so in return; with all of Benjamin's body being forcibly pushed forward by his momentum and forward torque, he couldn't stop, not even with a lightning push. Nor would the shield hitting Vince's head as he rammed into Benjamin going to stop the dragon from continuing this; again, take damage to deal damage.

Striker Nightmare
he'd lowered his head

That was all Ben needed to know, he could didn't exactly what his opponent was doing at this point but he knew that his head was dipping and chance were he was going to land a glancing blow. But that wasn't good enough for him. Time for the old twist and strike.

Click.

The odd grip allowed him to keep his finger on and over the new button on his buckler, both hiding the addition and allowing him to press it at a moment's notice. So he would.

SHLINK~

The extra metal hidden with Ben's shield would be revealed, springing out and giving Ben even more UMPH! and an extra 6 inches of range. The kinda of range that would turn a simultaneous collision into a Ben scores the first hit scenario as the shield smacked hard into Vince's head. Or it would have had the prince been able to swivel his shield around properly. Thanks to the added bulk of his shield however, he wasn't really able to swivel the handle around properly, so instead of turning to face his opponent, his shield simply expanded in its current position striking Vince's shoulder down and to his right. Also meaning that when his buckler reached the dragon-kin's head half a second later, it was more of a glancing blow to the back/side instead of a faceful of metal.

CRUNCH!

"Ooofff...."

Shoulder met breastplate knee, as the two joint slammed hard into one another doing some heavy damage. The high boot on Ben's knee and Vince's general bulk would leave them in similar situations with each joint not completely out of commission but rather quite defective and a pain in the a** if either tried to put much use into them.

Ben would fall back and clutch his knee in pain, both hands cupping and soothing joint as best as they could, which wasn't much as he could only commit his fingertips to the job without let his weapons fall to the way side. His sword and shield would be very useful in the next few moments as he fully expected Vince to follow him to the ground after he recovered from the blow to the head and the initial shock of joint collision began to fade. Giving Ben some time to get his own injured joint and reaffirm his grip on his arms.

Well god damned. Vince let out a roar as his shoulder was pushed down, his left quickly following just to avoid spinning Benjamin out to the side. He knew damned well what was going to happen; Benjamin's knee was instead going to take the punishment, which meant that yes, Vincent was as well taking the punishment. Big a** should was to meet balled up knee, but fortunately for Vince, the damage could be lessened if just by a bit. The dragon's right arm had been swung underneath Benjamin while in the air, allowing Vince's shoulder to lean into the motion; now that it was all complete, Vince's right arm was good to be used. First, the massive sword was released, and fell to the ground with a quiet thud as it hit the sand somewhere near Vince's feet.

As Benjamin slammed the ground, Vince's right shoulder following up by slamming into the knee, his right arm was moved somewhere near the center of his own body, pushing against the sand to relieve the pressure of the massive shoulder; of course, Vince felt the pain as his gigantic muscular limb smashed into Benjamin's knee. Did it bother him as much as it bothered Benjamin? No, of course not; Vince had been pretty much unaffected by his arms exploding, not only once, but twice, and had proceeded to go Apeshit on his opponent while they recovered from the shocking blow that he'd dealt at the same time.

As Benjamin clutched at his knee in pain, his weaponry still armed and ready to go, Vince made his move. His right hand shot up, a grimace crossing the dragon's face as his shoulder moved to accommodate the massive limb's readjustment of position. The right hand would push harshly on Benjamin's left knee, pushing it hard down to the left. Vince's left arm gripped on the right knee, but didn't push it down, instead, he held it in position as Vince pushed himself forward, bringing himself to where he was inside of Benjamin's left knee as it was pushed down, his right as it was being held in place.

Did the dragon attack yet? No, not physically. Instead, due to the very small amount of movement he actually did, he allowed his energy to build, which literally turned the area around Vince into a ******** sandstorm. Sand was ripped from the ground, thrown into the air around Benjamin, literally wrapping around his head, in his eyes, his mouth, everything. Vince, of course, kept watch on the only things he was worried about; Benjamin's buckler and his sword, but at such a close range, with the dragon literally in a half-mount on his knees, the sword was going to be less effective than one would think.

Benjamin was now dealing with a sandstorm in his face.

The problem here being that Benjamin was still armed, opting for a very inadequate and superficial massage of his knee instead of dropping all of his equipment to tend to his boo boo. Meaning that his buckler was currently covering his whole injured knee, a good portion the gap between his legs and a bit of his other one. Vince would have to settle for palming that buckler instead of gripping a knee, finding what should have a simple maneuver becoming a bit more complicated. Now that didn't meant it would be impossible for Vince to push aside Ben's knees to get into his mount but rather that it would just be more difficult and time consuming as he would lack a proper grip.

And Ben would use that time to mount an offense of his own, pulling his right hand back from his knee and towards the ground to angle his blade more towards his opponent and then at the last moment quickly moving his other hand to the side to give Vince's what he wanted while shaking off what would redoubtably be a weak grip. This would give way for the second part of his offensive where he pushed off the ground with his good knee and elbows to gain some leverage to allow his blade to more easily plunge into the dragon-kin's lower torso.

A successful stab would give way to an relatively small electric charge, as Ben put some of his constantly gathering energy into the effect. His only regret being he couldn't quite mount of a good nerve breaker without putting in some charges.

Well god damn. Obviously the dragon was losing his touch on keeping up with minor details, because he'd forgotten that with the way the shield was placed on the left knee, he wouldn't be able to grip it as well. Regardless, he kept pushing it, and eventually, Benjamin gave way and let Vince move into the half-mount. Of course, Benjamin did this with reason. The sudden sliding of Vince's right hand caused him to lurch forward, just as the blade plunged into his lower torso.

"ARGHHHH... Damn.." The dragon shook his head as the very weak shock traveled into his torso and caused his very muscular abs to tighten, clinching. The shock was, for the most part, limited into the lower-torso, and so Vince's movements were unaffected by a large margin. Of course, the sword drove home, and blood seeped around the edge of the blade and down into the sand. The dragon gave Benjamin a dark look as the sand whipped up around them, covering Benjamin's face, covering his body for the most part.

Then, what came next, was the most shocking. Vince slid farther onto the blade, pushing off of Benjamin's knee with his left hand as he did so, allowing the blade to plunge itself deeper. Why in the ******** would anyone do that unless.. Vince's right hand, covered in the black spiked gauntlet, would move quickly off the shield, and in a quick motion, through the sand, would aim to smash right into Benjamin's chin. Really, the punch was aimed right up the middle, and with Benjamin propped up on his elbows, he was going to be right in the path.

Not to mention, what with the sand blocking Benjamin's vision, how was he to see a massive gauntleted hand flying right for him?
