It was a normal evening; the air crisp, the sky most likely clear, and the sounds of the night consisted of a few annoying patients complaining just for the sake of it. Oooh bless their hearts.
Sitting in one of the hollows in her Medic tree, Mallow listened patiently while the patient inside kept yapping up a storm about how there was a draft or something.
"Medic, Medic, please fetch more moss for this hollow. I can feel a cold breeze through my down -- it simply won't do, it might prolong my healing time! Medic, oh Medic..."
"Mmhmmm, M'am, I'll get you a little more moss. Meanwhile, please try to rest and catch some quiet time, Dear. There are a few things I must attend to, mmhmm." It was during a second of silence from the Complainant that Mallow made her chipper exit, giving a small bob of her head before ducking out and flying up to an upper branch.
"Oh mymymy..."

Odd was growing rather tired. The journey from his territory had taken him several nights and he was more than glad to finally arrive at his destination.
The white feathered sentinel let out a hoot as he drifted into the medic's territory and landed on a thick tree limb along the outskirts. His equally pale chirop companion latched to his back tiredly, glad for a break from travel.
Odd almost immediately went about running his pale beak through his soft plumage, preening and placing wayward feathers as he rested. The sound of complaining patients was all to familiar and not exactly comforting. It brought back memories of the many trips he had made to medic territories when he was a youngster, living amongst the minders. It also led him to remember his own failed attempt at becoming a medic, so he could help those around him.
Oh well.
The aberrant sighed heavily, but a soft smile plastered to his beak as he awaited a response from the resident medic. He hoped it was the one he had been searching for.

From her current perch, Mallow heard the welcoming hoot as it drifted through the cool air. If she had been down with her patient, she probably would have missed it! but that had not been the case, and she gave a very cheery reply to whomever was currently at the edges of her plot.
"Welcome, welcome! I'm at the conifer tree, upper branches, Dear!" she called, giving a few quick preens to herself. She hoped she wouldn't be too hard to find... since her conifer was basically surrounded primarily by birch trees. It kind of stuck out...

Just one more move and he could hopefully rest for a little while, right?
He summoned up the strength to lift from his perch silently. Moth, although not exactly thrilled, was there to help him find a suitable perch in the conifer to support his bulk. He, at first, seemed slightly confused about which exact tree, but he quickly recovered and found the conifer.
It must of been her. It sounded like her. He landed on a limb a polite distance from the medic. Or rather, what he would of deemed polite. Many didn't like to be near him, so he often distanced himself a good ways away.
"Mallow?"

What had meant to be just quick little preens turned a bit more complex the more Mallow noticed how ruffled her feathers had gotten, and with her head under a wing, she failed to see who her visitor was until they landed at her tree and called her name.
...That voice sounded familiar...
Promptly straightening herself, Mallow gave a "Hmmm?" before mangling that with a very surprised chirp. "Odd Winter!" the Medic exclaimed excitedly, her large eyes going larger still from surprise.
"I knew the voice I heard sounded familiar! Oh my word, I must say you are one of the last Sentinels I expected to see today," she mused fondly, hopping from her branch to one closer to the male. She extended a wing towards him in a sweeping motion, much like one would give an awkward wave of the hand, and then hooted and chortled.
"What brings you here? That trip is not a light one by any means."

His pale beak tucked into his feathers almost with embarrassment as he preened and his eartufts flicked backwards as he took in each word that the medic spoke. Yes, she certainly seemed just as friendly as the last time he spoke with her. That seemed to raise his spirits and his hopes some.
He didn't seem to see much of a reason to dally before giving her the main reason he had traveled so far, yet asking for help wasn't at the top of his "I feel comfortable doing" list.
So, instead, he dawdled at least a little bit. He had brought a gift with him all the way from his tree, after all. Sly had shown interest in eating the little creature on his journey, but he managed to keep her the entire trip. She wasn't white, like his own, but she wasn't quite as dark as Glaz. He had hoped she would make up for his unexpected visit and had been one of the most promising youngsters born within the past months.
"Various things." He replied briefly, lifting his head from his chest to respond politely. Moth landed at his paws, tucking herself between his claws and stomach. Another little creature peered out from behind his back, her beady eyes assessing the situation as best a chirop can.
"First, to thank you and hopefully butter you up for something later, this little thing. I was hoping you could find use for you while you work. She seems promising enough and has many basic commands down, already." He gave a soft hoot after speaking, and the little creature complied, winging her way from the white sentinel's back to land along Mallow's perch.
