The pale wolf sat on a cliff edge, looking out to the bright stars that glittery and shimmered overhead. Not a cloud tarnished the dark night sky overhead. A gentle breeze ruffled the females pelt. Pale eyes looked up to those dotted enigmas that held the many mysteries of the world, winking in an out as though blinking down at the world beneath, the world that seemed so large and yet so small.
It was easy for one to think there was little to the world, but that was until they sat upon a cliff face or mountain and looked out upon the vastness of the lands below, stretching out farther than any eye could see from flat grass lands and deserts to wooded, thick forests, the great oceans and lakes that covered the land, swallowing up a whole other world beneath them. It was almost too much for one to take in and it was impossible for any wolf to truly see it all, it would take many lives to see the entirety of the world and even still one could never truly grasp it all.
Lavender eays flicked as another breeze swept by, almost seeming to whisper ancient secrets in long forgotten tongue that Ithil could not understand. Ever since that first trip to the Shrine she had been taken in awe unable to comprehend the greatness and the intense feelings it had given her. She could still remember the tingling fire it had sent through her paws into her entire body, and the uplifting sensation she felt with the spirituality of the place. It had almost been overwhelming, making her head spin with the sensations. But it had made her yearn for more, to feel it all over again. Intoxicated and drunken with the feelings, but she had made it a point to not become obsessed with the feelings she got from the Shrine. It was a place of a worship, a place of peace, and a place of solitude.
"Whispered winds, speak strange tongues, calling softly to the world unknown..." she whispered in her light voice, her eyes still transfixed on the stars above. The world around her, above and below was filled with beauty, some of which she knew, she would never get to know.

Oh, if only someone actually gave a rats' butt to her attentions, they'd notice that the orange girl was no longer quite alone. Nope, about her neck now was more than simply air: better, a jeweled necklace that ended in a large jade teardrop - her prized possession that rivaled her love for her brothers even. At least jewels didn't snap back or whine at you whenever you wanted to do something. And they never lost their beauty either, always shining so long as you watched over it; in a way, it was Li Ming's child and sister and friend and apple of her eye all in one. There was a happiness from simply knowing it was there that she could not garner from her family for some reason.
Maybe because she knew it was always there no matter what, that the only thing that could separate them were the nasty paws of some other unmentionable. And these were easily taken care of.
Oh, her precious had already been snatched at and even eaten, but still it glistened like a stone's green tear against the silver dark metal chain, and in this under the moonlight she rejoiced. Li Ming was a nocturnal creature by choice, ignoring her internal clock with a smirk as she trotted about aimlessly, simply enjoying to be in her own company. The squirrel next to her was utterly ignored and rather tired, but stars curse it she would watch the little ones as promised! And this one was ignoring her curfew. "Li, come back inside please," Yue said, her words punctuated by a yawn as she stepped alongside the pup. "You're supposed to be going on a hunt soon, and a growing girl needs all the sleep she can get." She swore that the girl never ceased being amused by irritating her with every little thing! Always a rebeller! Gods, what would her parents think once they found out she went to a human settlement?"And miss the moon? Never." Li Ming was almost . . . dreamy. One would have to understand that this was usually a spoiled princess character with a devious streak, so to see her smitten with anything beyond her usual materialness was just out of character - at least to her caretaker. "See? We're not the only ones admiring," she added, pointing out a lone figure sitting atop a cliff edge, mumbling words she didn't bother trying to comprehend.

Pale ears flicking the she wolf looked back to where she heard whispered voiced the orange and black pup, bickering with the dark black and indigo squirrel. A small smile spread across her lips and she watched. The trinket that wavered about the pups neck briefly caught her attention until the words about the moon were brought up. Her pale eyes looked back up the sky momentarily seeing the shining orb almost full above their heads.
Turning back again and wagging her purple and black tipped tail lightly she called back in her soft voice, making sure she was at least loud enough to be heard but the pup. "Do come join me." she called out shifting her paws slightly to cross one another in the front and tucking her back ones in a little closer, but her tail continued a soft thumping on the grass beneath her. Every pup she believed deserved the right to stay up late at least once and admire the wonders of the night sky, especially on a night as clear as the one they had now.
The silly squirrel may have been adamant about getting sleep for a growing pup, but these joys of the night should be shared and at the moment she had no one to share it with. Any company at all was nice and Ithil had always loved seeing the pups, at least from afar she did. Never had she approached them. Long ago she had longed to be like her father and learn the ways of healing but she no longer had a calling for it. It saddened her heart a little but she knew she had another calling, she just didn't know what yet.

Invitation? Well of course she wouldn't deny that~ "Go back to sleep if you want," she told Yue, "'cause I'm not going anywhere, promise." Like that meant anything. "Just moon gazing, then coming back in. You said I need to socialize more too, right? This is a good time for me to do it." Yue sighed, sratching her ear. She had indeed said as much. "Very . . . very well," she replied, interrupted by a yawn. "But I mark your words. If you are not in the den by morning, your human thing goes goodbye." Anger immediately welled up in her, and Li Ming bared her fangs at the sleepy squirrel. "You wouldn't dare," she hissed in Yue's face, pulling away with a huff before padding over to settle beside the adult female. Yue only sighed and shook her head, leaving them alone as she returned to her dreams back in her small den. "Stupid squirrels," Li commented as she plopped her bottom down. "Think they're all that. So what're you thinking about when you look at the moon?"

Smiling at the pup, Ithil wrinkled her nose as she held back a little laughter. Her pale eye caught the sight of the strange human thing around Li Ming's neck and she was tempted to ask about it but held herself in restrain for the time being as she was questioned first. Lifting her head up to look back at the moon she smiled. "Well, I think of many things..." she started herself and trailed, it was hard to say exactly what she thought of when she looked up at the great Mistress.
"Hmm you know, that's actually a very good question. I think of many things, the wideness of the world, that knowledge that there is so much more out there than we can even begin to comprehend." she sighed as she watched the bright orb in the sky that seemed to watch over them lovingly. "What do you think of?" she asked and looked back to the Li Ming for a moment. It was a wonder how a pup's mind worked. She still remembered the fantasies that had once filled her own head, but every pup was different in their views.
