last week was 79 and they are usually between 70-100

I'm glad I skimmed down the page and saw you already found the reason. :}
I don't pay attention to how many people join the AvA each week. But, I did happen to see people complain about how more people entered this week because that dress up page suggests that people enter the arena.

I think it's good just because it's uhh.. about a 50k increase on the gold sink. XD I guess that's not much, but every little bit does help.
Problem is, I think that there'll be a large influx of people submitting for the heck of it with avatars that shouldn't even be in the arena. The arena already takes up my time when I vote because I like to leave suggestions. I won't vote this week or else I'll waste all my time writing suggestions. > <

I think its the opposite because it will be the same amount of voters (maybe a few more) and the few more wont know anything about fashion and they will down vote good avatars and the few people who are voting will be more spread out so there will be less votes.

Week before last I had 96 votes, last week I had 46
I can't say I had the same amount of advertising because it was a group entry but 46 is definitely lower than my average
