A young brown female tumbled through the underbrush giggling to herself the whole way. Little white paws digging into the fresh earth. She was getting bigger as each day went by, and so was her friend Daeron whom she had adopted into her family. While her Mother, Father and sister all had crows at their side she was the odd one out with her brightly colored Lynx. But she cared for Daeron and had long come to terms with the idea that a Lynx was better than a dumb ol' crow anyways; besides, Lynx ate crows as Dae had proved on many occasions coming back with small dead animals of his own and attempting to eat on several occasions her sister's crow. She had only giggled and protected Daeron even though she was clearly smaller and less aggressive than her sister.
But today though, Daeron was back home with everyone else. her mother having promised to take care of him as he battle with what seemed to be a cold or he'd eaten something he likely shouldn't have. Either way Sidhiel was out and about alone for once and was faintly enjoying not hearing Daeron scold her left and right. Instead there was silence other than the birdsong overhead and the sound of her pushing through the thick summer brush. Pink tongue lolling from her mouth she grinned as widely as was possibly and continued to push herself further than she had ever been. The last time she had gone out this way she had smelled others and wanted to investing it more. The smell was getting closer and stronger and she wondered to herself about another family like her own being around. It was an exciting thought so she let out a little howl, hoping that if she were lucky someone -someone who would eat her- would come out to find her and maybe even play. She was tired of playing with her siblings as they had long become fairly boring to her and Daeron sometimes was no fun either as he didn't play many of the same games being a Lynx.

Kane resembled his father fairly well, he thought. It was with pride that he walked in their packlands, sporting his father's pelt and his mother's wonderful lock of hair. It was with a smile on his face that he tossed his head slightly, causing that lock of hair to fly to the side, out of his eyes.
He hadn't realized that he was outside of his pack's border now, and since he had yet to realize it, it had yet to bother him, and he continued on, grinning and prancing.
He did feel guilty, though. His sister Abel wasn't with him, and he felt good about it in the back of his mind. He loved his siblings more than anything, but when he was with Abel, he felt a foreign nervousness, as though something bad were impending over the situation, or as if a black cloud permanently marred the days that they played together.
Now that he was a good distance away from his sister, he felt good again, as though life were wonderful and happy. The feeling left him confused, and heavy hearted.
A howl shook him from his more in-depth thoughts, and he looked up, sniffing about excitedly. "Hello?" he howled back, a happy smile plastered over his maw. Thoughts of his sister had all but disappeared now, and Kane was ready and willing to meet new friends outside of his family.

The little female had begun to sniff about again, looking for a sort of trail to lead her to the source of the other wolves but the scent was so strong and scatter with different paths twisting and turning and overlapping each other over and over again it was impossible to do such a thing. The 'hello' in return made her ears nap forward and her bright eyes look about for the other. When she say nothing she headed in the direction from which the voice had come from. "Hello?" she called back. "Who's there?" she asked, wriggling all over with excitement. In a way she felt a little saddened that Daeron could not have been here with her to enjoy this but she wouldn't have been able to keep herself back with her family and be bored all day. She'd just have to bring something nice back for Dae, that was the right thing to do.
Bounding forward and nearly tripping over her own paws as she did so she yipped and barked as she went, hoping to draw the other closer to her. They sounded about her age, which made it all the more interesting. She had never really played with other outside of her pack family except that one she had met quite a few other but had not been able to stay very long. But at least she'd gotten to hear a good story from one of the others.

A grin struck him. He could hear the voice and the excitement it held, and he too wriggled and moved forward. Bounding through brush and over fallen branches he sought out the voice. His paws, all too big, kept him from going very fast, lest he trip and make a fool of himself.
"My name is Kane, what's yours?" he yipped out, growing more giddy now that his puppy brain had figured out that the voice coming his way sounded his age. That's what Kane felt like he needed most - good friends outside of his family unit. He knew that his siblings loved him and they were friends, but he also felt as though they had to be friends, because they were family.
Friends 'in the wild' weren't forced to get along... they just did, right? Else they wouldn't bother to be friends. Kane felt a smug satisfaction with himself as he managed to work that out AND not trip over his paws in the same breath, until he went to leap over a particularly brambled mess of brush and went flying forwards, crash-landing on his face, probably right in front of his new friend.
He groaned as he untangled his limbs from under him and shook his head slightly, clearing the dirt from his lock of hair. His cheeks went hot with embarrassment as he quickly looked around to survey the damage he had caused to his pride.

Paw over paw, breath, breath...her mind was running a mile a minute, maybe even faster than that. Regardless she heard the others name but it took a few moments for it to register that not only had he give his name but asked for hers in return. Little white paws nearly stumbled over and over as she kept going in her haste to reach Kane to meet him face-to-face. "I'm Sidhiel!" she howled back, her tail stuck out straight. Barely making it over a small branch that was just large enough that she had to jump over it, she fumbled slightly as she came down and recovered.
But just passed a small bush she heard the loud rustling and saw a brown pup come flying out over a small bush and straight at her. Yelping she tried to turn tail and run to avoid becoming the landing pad of the other and barely made it out of his way, but in the process she tripped over the small branch, flipping onto her back, paws akimbo in the air. Panting heavily she stared with her wide, pale gold eyes glued to the other as he righted himself. Giggling she rolled over and picked herself back onto her feet and stood her front paws up on the branch, prancing on the back and forth with her excitement. "Hiya, Hiya!" she giggled happily and wriggled her back end almost to the point one would have sworn it would fall off if she kept going.

Well, it was no secret that she had seen him fall. He signed lightly, a smile growing once again across his face as his body involuntarily mimicked her own, wriggling with happiness until he felt as though he was going to fall to pieces.
"Hi, hi!" he answered back, prancing a bit as he wriggled. His new friend was interesting. Her fur was way different colors than any of his own family, but with his mother's mottled pelt he figured anything was possible - especially with Aloysius as a brother.
"Where are you from?" he inquired after a bit of thought and flourished movement. New wolves were so interesting to him it was nearly unbearable. He knew the purpose of his pack, but something deep within him felt tugged to wander, to see things peacefully. He wasn't sure he could be a killer... though, those feelings changed when he was around his sister, Abel. Her presence worried him the most, and kept nightmares common in his frightened mind.

Sidhiel couldn't stopped her toothy grin at the male, he was so different than her, but she had seen many interesting pelts as her mother was pale and her father darker, yet her beloved friend Daeron was as green as the brightest new ferns that green in the beginning of spring. "Hiyaaa~!" she chirruped happily. he was certainly different, so much unlike her siblings with her sister who always tried to be the best and her brother who was quiet and kept to himself.
Finally sitting back on her rump with a soft plop, her back legs propped up and she itched absently at her ear. "Well I live with my Momma and Poppa and my brother and sister. Oh and there's are friends, my Poppa has a crow and so does my momma and my sister...but I'm different see, I got a friend who's a lynx. I saved him from a mean ol' snake that wanted to eat 'im!" she rambled loosing sense of the question at first until she drew herself back and smiled.
"Sorry, I lost track...I live just over the ridge back there..." she said looking back towards the way she had come. Now that she looked at it she had wondered quite a way from her home. "Where are you from?" she asked, becoming wide-eyed again and excited.
