			            Randhir
Name: Randhir Origin: Hindu Meaning: “brave” -- (Because never in a million years would his father give him a name that meant anything like “handsome” or “cheerful”. ) Gender: Male
  Alliance: Legion Path: Warrior
  Weapon: Fighter: A simple scimitar.
Captain: An oversized broadsword, preferably large enough to be strapped and carried around on his back. ( Example is the Buster Sword, because I couldn’t find anything more appropriate.) It should be noted this weapon is entirely too large for Randhir to handle effectively. So why does he have it? Because it makes him feel like a man, okay!? Real men have real big swords. He will learn, with time, how to handle the sword to the best of his ability, but where is the weapon is designed for a powerhouse, Randhir is built for speed and agility.
Tenryujin: A pair of small, twin scimitars. By the time Randhir reaches this stage, he will (hopefully) come to accept the fact he cannot powerhouse anything and will embrace his agility instead. While the knife set is not particularly large or ‘bad a**’, it’s something Randhir will be able to maximize his strengths with.

  Personality:
“I‘ll stop when I‘m dead.” (Self-Motivated) -- When Randhir says he stops at nothing, the boy means he stops at nothing. Why put off what you can do today? With no tolerance for the lazy, he pushes through pain and exhaustion to get the job done. And it’s not just about getting the job done, mind you. It’s about getting the job done right, so if he needs to spend all night practicing with his weapon to harness a new skill, you can bet he will. His catch phrase is probably akin to ‘I’ll sleep when I’m dead!’. There simply aren’t enough hours in the day!
It's very rare Randhir needs to be asked twice to accomplish anything, even chores he finds distasteful. He may put up a fuss, in that case, but the job will be done, regardless. He works equally as well in a group as he does alone (in his opinion) until he feels someone isn't pulling their weight. He'll happily try to take over and run the entire project himself, if he feels that's what it takes to get the task at hand accomplished.
“I’m ready when you are!” (Eager) -- Charging ahead with an alarming amount of enthusiasm, it’s hard to find anything that will make Randhir’s loyalty to the Emperor falter. He’s brave and brash, always the type to join the charge instead of follow behind. He’s like a dog waiting for a command; if you tell him jump, his only reply will be ‘how high’. He’s very good with authority (well, authority of his own allegiance) and takes orders well. He’s exceptionally eager to please, because he hopes taking this path will get him a ranking position quickly. You might call it brown-nosing, but we’ll see who’s laughing at who when he makes Captain before you do!
Randhir finds his eagerness contagious, often infecting those around him with his good nature. If he's excited, you should be excited too! While the occasional stick-in-the-mud might find him to be incredibly obnoxious (he's willing to overlook it), such a positive outlook tends to be good for a group morale. As far as he's concerned, there's always something to be looking forward to, even if it's the smallest piece of the puzzle.
“What do you mean, you wanted him in one piece?” (Tactless) -- Sometimes Randhir overdoes it a little. Just because he thinks smart doesn’t mean he employs his brain once he’s jumped into the heat of the situation. He’s great at hitting things again and again, but he often fails to change his tactics. Bold and brash has its downfall, Randhir often finds himself offending others when he doesn’t think before speaking his mind. If you didn’t want him to tell you that yeah, you look like a girl when you do that, you shouldn’t have asked. He also tends to find himself in situations he probably could have avoiding, should he had thought about it. So yelling fire made them shoot those arrows, huh? Go figure. What do you mean, that was your piece of cake? Just because you wrote your name on it…
Unfortunately, he has tendency to repeat his mistakes; avoiding them would require planning and foresight, neither of which Randhir is willing to exercise. His eagerness often leads him into blind decisions, and once he finds himself in, he's never willing to pull back. It's not only battle he saunters off into without a game plan, he doesn't argue very logically, tends to struggle in school and he tends to be very easy to read. Without tact, Randhir wears his emotions on his sleeves. You always know exactly what he's feeling.
“Could you at least pretend to keep up?” (Overbearing) -- Randhir thinks he’s smart, and there’s nothing wrong with smart, right? Not so! Randhir loves to rub his presumed intelligence in everyone’s face. If he spent more time using his brain for useful endeavors, such as oh, tactical moves as opposed to insults and good comebacks, he’d probably be a lot further in life. He has no problem saying so when he thinks someone is being an idiot and he often makes a move to take over a task when he feels you’re taking too long or, worse, mucking it up. The funny thing is, he has no more than average intelligence, he just refuses to accept any other answer. Randhir is incredibly irritating in partnerships and group activities if you aren’t the one in the leadership position.
“Well, back in the good old days…” (Traditionalist)-- Raised primarily under influence his father, Randhir has been brought up with a certain sense of “tradition”. There are women’s chores, and there are men’s chores. He is not allowed to cry, because only women should be seen weeping. Randhir is not allowed any feminine hobbies, and because this is all he’s known for the majority of his life, Randhir will tease anyone he meets defying his father’s sense of tradition. He comes off as sexist and ill-informed, a prejudice based on tradition. He's extremely condescending when it comes to any Nobles, because honestly, what are they thinking? You do not fix what is not broken!
However, the tradition extends beyond this role; his father often speaks of the ‘good old days’, before there were uprisings and everyone respected their Emperor. The stories are as much fiction as they are fact, but Randhir takes them to heart and holds them at the center of his belief in the Emperor and the Legion. If the emperor rules, everything will be Good. Yes, Good with a capital G. There is no question, because this is tradition, and that’s just how things are, got it?

  Appearance:
Hair Color: #00688B Hair Style: A faux hawk, with a few strays hanging down in his face.
Scales: This blue here (#22316C) and this shade of orange (#FF6103). Of course, if the artist finds this particular shade of orange offensive, I’m pretty good with any blue/orange combo. I just really want that combo. :]
Build: Randhir is slight and lithe. He is short and angry. He isn’t feminine, he’s just small and really rather skinny. He’s not muscular at all, especially at the Academy stage. Skin Tone: Whatever looks appropriate.
Dress: Artistic freedom. Again, whatever looks the best on him. :] I just request its nothing feminine, because his father would probably skin him alive. Accessories: Nope! >: At least, not unless he gathers some in RP. As it stands, he’s pretty simple in tastes.
Expression: Either enthused, or perhaps looking guilty, being caught doing something he shouldn’t have.

			            Hobbies
Swordsmanship: There's no two ways around it, Randhir is pretty bad when it comes to his sword. This doesn't bode well for his days as a warrior, nor does it bode well for his father's legacy. Of course, there's only one solution to this potential disaster, and that is practice. Before his Academy days, Randhir spent a lot of time practicing with his father at their home. He's always enjoyed spending time with his father, even if the majority of it was spent being berated for his terrible skill. (Or complete lack there of.) It's arguable that Randhir's improved since childhood, but he clearly stands for a large amount of skill. Regardless of his abilities, Randhir does his best to practice daily, outside of classes.
Five Meals a Day: It started as an attempt to get a small boy to grow, but once Randhir hit those teenage years, there was no stopping this bottomless pit. He's willing to try anything and everything; he enjoys stupid dares. You found it under the table? Sure, why not! It's incredibly spicy? It won't kill him, so let's give it a try! He's always got at least part of his brain trying to scoop out his next meal (or even better, a free meal), and he spends a lot of time considering what he eats. Now, don't go making the assumption he knows how to cook. Randhir would sooner starve than set foot in a kitchen for any reason other than raiding the pantry.
Sports: If there's a group and a competition involved, Randhir wants in. There's nothing more fun then being dirty and exhausted; the only form of entertainment for this boy is physical. Forget reading and philosophical discussions, he'd much sooner take to the streets and play with the other boys hanging around the city. He doesn't mind getting roughed up, as long as he gets to tackle in return. Randhir seems to forget just how small he is, sometimes, and struggles in truly physical games, but he excels in the more speed-related games. However, if any girls show up to play? Randhir is out, man. He doesn't play with girls, that's just not right!
Fishing: Fishing is another manly hobby Randhir picked up from his father. He claims it's good for the mind, a very peaceful, relaxing activity. Randhir thinks it's boring as all get out, but he tries very, very hard to enjoy the activity. He goes once or twice weekly. Very faithful for someone with absolutely no interest, he doesn't take very good care of his equipment. However, if asked where he's going, he'll always invite others along. Unless you really know Randhir, it's almost impossible to tell he doesn't enjoy fishing as much as he loves his sports.

			            History
Ask anyone in his family, and you will not get a very accurate account of Randhir’s history. You will be told of his younger sister, his mother, perhaps even regaled with some of his father’s ‘good old days’ tales, and of course, you will be inundated with anecdotes about the family’s only son, Randhir. Except, there is one problem. Randhir is not actually the family’s only son. He isn’t even the oldest.
Once upon a time, when Randhir was still a small boy, his older brother, Avinash still lived with his family. At the time, he was expected to uphold all the family traditions and cultures, take his father’s place serving the Emperor now that he was an old man, what have you. Both boys were raised very strictly, never allowed to go out and play with others when there was work to be done, always taught to worship the Goddess and above all, serve the Emperor. And if they ever asked why (only Avinash asked why), there was always a good belting to accompany the simple answer: because that’s tradition.
Tradition was a very powerful force in the family, but Randhir’s father was so good, and so strong, it was only logical this tradition gave him his might. Unfortunately, for every bit Randhir believed in his father, Avinash railed against him. Their relationship was incredibly rocky, and love his brother as he may, Randhir feared his father’s anger more. Shortly before Randhir turned thirteen years old, Avinash packed up his things and walked out. It didn’t take long for the family to hear he’d joined up with the Nobles. Convinced it was only to spite and mock the family tradition, Randhir’s father quickly decreed the older boy dead to the family. No one speaks of him, no trace of him is left in the entire household, even three years later. Every now and then, Randhir will think he sees Avinash passing by in the bustle of the city…
Schism of family aside, the rest of Randhir’s life has been fairly uneventful. He is the center of his father’s undivided attention, and the pair spend much time together. His father clearly intends for his son to be a mighty warrior one day, bringing peace back to the land under the Emperor’s reign. Handfed the stories since his youth, Randhir is more than happy take up the metaphorical sword and restore the land. Sent to the Academy, he tries to take it seriously as he daydreams of glorious victories and shining reign of the Legion his father waxes on about.

			            Family
Father - Rashmi: Randhir's father is the central figure in his life. He's always taken a great interest in his son. A large, imposing man, he's always struck a sense of awe into Randhir. Combine that with his tales of the 'good old days', and his son was completely enraptured. Rashmi has always run a very tight ship; he expects his wife to have dinner cooked and on the table when he gets home, he expects his daughter to complete all her chores and he expects Randhir to uphold the family honor and name. He's certainly stuck in his ways, and he's determined to keep his family loyal to the Legion. In fact, when his other son decided to strike out against his ideals, Rashmi disowned the boy. He is dead to the family.
Mother - Bala: A quiet, composed woman, she is a fast worker and quick wit. She's always been very obedient to Rashmi, but don't mistake that for weak-willed. She is the only member of his family who can cross him, and though she doesn't make a habit out of it, Bala can often get her way. She had very little influence on Randhir's life, especially after Avinash left, and it shows in her son's lack of respect for women. She's disappointed he's turned out the way he has, but she can't fix him now. Instead, she focuses the majority of her energy on her daughter, and leaves Randhir to his father.
Older Brother - Avinash: The black sheep of the family, Avinash left the family household three years ago. He joined the Nobles, and while no one is really sure why, speculation is absolutely not allowed. Rashmi has decreed Avinash dead to the family, and as far as he is concerned, the bull-headed youth never existed. Randhir can remember the arguments between his brother and father very vividly, but he doesn't miss his brother, because that just isn't allowed.
Younger Sister - Parmita: A few years younger than Randhir, the only interaction they have is at family meals. She spends her day on household chores, while Randhir attends the Academy and assists his father with 'manly' tasks. He might tease his sister, in only the way older brothers are allowed to torment younger siblings, but he is also rather protective of her. After all, a man's job is to protect the weaker sex.

			            Why Randhir?
Why the Legion?: This is the way Randhir is raised. It’s not even a ‘my father told me I should, so I do’, Randhir truly, honestly believes in the tales of the ‘good old days’. There was never a problem with the Emperor’s reign, even if it was long. As far as he’s concerned, the only problem came about when the Nobles began to rabble rouse! There’s absolutely no need to fix what isn’t broken, and Randhir is a staunch believer that things are best the way they are. His close relationship with his hard-nosed father only serves to reinforce his beliefs. You worship your goddess, you serve your Emperor. It’s tradition. The Legion, as far as he’s concerned, is the only choice. There was never even a question for Randhir.
What Does Randhir Have to Offer?: Enthusiastic, good-natured and incredibly motivated, he's easy to start and impossibly to stop. Good with authority, Randhir won't be trying to start another revolution within the ranks; he'll be doing his best to serve the Legion and defeat the Nobles. Loyalty is another key element of his personality. It was something he was raised with, so questioning those he trusts doesn't even occur to him. His presences is generally pretty good for the group's morale. Friendly, he's quick to pick up someone else's slack, simply because he can't stand to see something sit idle when it could be a finished task.
His effort makes up for his struggles with his weapons. When all else fails, Randhir will hack and slash at opponents until one of them drops. He will finish his assigned task, or he will die trying. That aside, his father will also be more than pleased to assist the Legion's cause, if he were ever to be called upon. Randhir comes from a stable home and isn't likely to collapse under any battle-induced stress.
