Here in the Immortal City, there are many career paths one can pursue. That is, if one is good enough. More and more people enter the city each day, and each have to pick some sort of job, whether it involves a life of justice, crime, or even business.

Just a few examples of the limitless professions in the Immortal City can be found below.

{{Note: The positions below are basically the main positions. If you want to be something else, have at it!}}

The Knights
Someone has to protect the Immortal City...

The Knights of the Immortal City are proud, brave men. These warriors are the best around, and have not lost a battle yet. Lower-level knights spend most of their days patrolling the city, while higher-level knights are free to go and do as they please.

The knights can accept squires and apprentices, but that is their choice.

The Rankings of the knights are as follows--

Leader of the Knights > Sheriff > Captains > First-Class Knights > Second-Class Knights > Third-Class Knights > Knights > Novice Knights

The requirements to be a knight are...

~You must be at least nineteen years of age.
~You must be male. Only a select few knights are female. {PM me if you want to be a female knight}
~You must know basic swordsmanship.
~You cannot have a criminal record.
~You must be willing to give your life for the Immortal City, if necessary.
~Your hair may not extend past your mid-back.

The knights currently have no leader. PM me or Coral if you would like to either reserve the spot for leader or fill it.

The knights currently have no sheriff. PM me or Coral if you would like to either reserve the spot or fill it.

The knights currently have three captain positions open.

The Servants
Those faithful to the Queen receive benefits...

The servants of Queen Serenity are usually commoners who do not have a family, or those who do and were previously unemployed. A few types of the servants include...

Maids
Cooks
Seamstresses
Stable-workers
Messengers
Slaves

There are also those who are not really considered "servants", such as the Royal Advisers and the Queen's lady-in-waiting. However, they are as loyal to the Queen as anyone else.

The Merchants
Why risk your life or work for the Queen when you can make a profit off of goods?

The merchants are just that, merchants. Whether they own a fruit stand or a well known pub, they earn a reasonable amount of money. In the Immortal City, you can buy almost anything from merchants. Most merchants are foreigners who have come to the city to make money off of their rare goods, but several are Immortal City natives who just want to make sure everyone gets fed and tended to.

The Merchant Class can also include blacksmiths, glass-blowers, armor-smiths, weapon makers, etc.

If you choose to be a simple street merchant with only a cart for your goods, then PM Coral or I the details about your goods and we'll add it to "The Shop List" in the Town Square. If you choose to own a large pub, inn, or shop, PM us the details and we will allow you to make your own thread for it.

The Thieves
Why be a good little citizen when you can make some money as a pick-pocket?

Ah, the thieves. No city is without them. The thieves of The Immortal city are mostly orphans, misfits, and rejects from the Queen's knights. But some have more unique reasons than others. There are two types of thieves, the loners, and the tribe thieves. The loners are just thieves who prefer to steal and such on their own. The tribe thieves are those who prefer to stick in groups, obviously called "tribes". There are several tribes in the Immortal City, which often causes conflict. It's not uncommon to see two thieves from different tribes in a knife fight. However, none of the thieves wish to be caught by the knights of the Queen, so they keep their clashes quick and quiet.

There is also one thief who stands out among all the rest, the Rogue. The Rogue is basically the King of the thieves, his word is law to all tribes. But most of the time, he sits back and lets the tribes and thieves do as they please.

Just like the knights, the thieves have a ranking system. However, it is rather loose and not used much.

In a tribe:
The Rogue > Tribe Leader > Senior Tribe Members > Tribe Members > Loner Thieves
(Note: Not all loner thieves are at the bottom of the rankings. It's all based on skill)

If you wish to start a tribe or become a tribe leader, PM either me or Coral Andrews. There will be a limited number of tribes, so you must act fast.

The Mercenaries
An easy way to make money...if you're good enough.

The mercenaries are all elite fighters that want to make money off of their skill instead of joining the knights. They make their profits off of other people quarrels and personal battles. Most mercenaries don't have a problem with killing and blood, which is a requirement to be successful in the field. Mercenaries are also very skilled at concealing their identity. The law doesn't have a problem with mercenaries, but when they start breaking rules to complete their missions, it gets a bit rough.

Mercenaries have absolutely no form of ranking. Each mercenary is their own person, and they have the right to refuse or accept any job without anyone's consent but theirs. However, there are a rare few that form teams, but this is highly uncommon.

The Leaders

A city without rulers is absolute chaos...

The powerful eight are the eight leaders that live amongst the others. They consist of all races, and here is the leaders list:

Main leader- "The all powerful"- has power over all the other seven, and over the immortal city. This person stays in the castle all the time, and only stays within the walls of the castle.
Queen Serenity

Two advisors- "The two behind the curtain"- These are the two who are behind the the leader, they have a few jobs. Help lead, protect the queen, and are the only two that cannot live normal lives out of the castle.
______________ and ______________

The three lords and ladies- "The show of the all powerful."- These are the three that show off their powers the most. They never listen to the other rulers, and are very rude.
_____________, _____________, and _______________

And lastly,
The shadow- no one knows who this is, except for the powerful. This is the one who "takes care" of people who go against their rule. This person was trained their whole lives to fight, and hides in the shadows of the queen. No one except the queen has ever seen his face. RESERVED!

If you would like to be part of the powerful eight, please pm me or Lykie.
