Snow wasn't sure if she really wanted to leave her mother's side. She didn't want to run into anyone... didn't want them to see the state she was in. Her family all said the same thing. get over him. He's not good enough for you. He obviously didn't know what he had. But when she'd introduced him to them... They'd all love him. Approved of him. Said he was great for her. Said they were cute together. She sighed and closed her eyes for a moment, careful not to walk into a tree as she did so. "Thanks for trying to cheer me up." she told him quietly.
Dunixi found it hard to concentrate on his daydreams with the screaming mion atop his head. He wasn't sure what to do in this sort of situation... He was never very good at consoling a miserable friend. This was probably a flaw he'd learned from his dear, yet inevitably passionless adoptive father. "We're not getting you any food, Berry." Dunixi huffed as he dipped his head and let the mion and his hat tumble from his head. "Go find your own if you're gunna behave that way." He looked at Snow with an apologetic smile, but it quickly vanished when he realized the doe was much more distant than he thought. "Anything for a friend."
Snow looked over at Duni's mion with a slightly sympathetic look there wasn't a reason for him to go hungry... even if he did look a little fat. "We can find him some berries..." She said quietly moving over to Berry and nosing him slightly. She lifted her head and looked back up at Duni though she almost didn't really care, it was as if she was out of it. Unfocused almost. "There are lots of things for him to eat at the waters edge." She looked back down at Berry and nosed him towards the lake and began walking that way again. She had a friend in this hart? That was nice to know. But why wouldn't he be her friend? He was friends with her cousin after all, and they were alike. It only made sense. "what should I make?" She asked trying to distract herself a little bit.
Berry cooed and nuzzled up against Snow's face when the opportunity arose. Dunixi rolled his eyes at his brat of a mion, it was no use arguing once the thing knew he was getting his way. "You're right..." Duni looked into Snow's empty eyes, he had never seen such a ghost of a face before... It was frightening, nearly haunting. He was desperate to make it better, but he didn't know what to do, or if his doings would just make everything worse. "I really liked those ice wings you had... I don't know about the mask, though. Why would you want to hide such a pretty face?"
Snow lowered her head a bit to put it underneath Berry's body and then raised it so that he could ride on top of her own head. So long as the Mion didn't mind the cold... He should be alright. She turned away from him before he said that, walking towards the lake again. She could smell the moisture in the air. It wasn't very far at least. She lifted her head a bit, trying to be regal like her mother even in her time of utter despair and depression. When he said he liked her wings she flexed the muscles on her back.. She felt almost naked with out them on her. though she would admit her back did feel a lot lighter with out them... But... "Pretty?" She asked almost snorting. She wasn't pretty. "I'm plain." she told him with a bitter tone to her voice. If she was beautiful like her sisters, then why would Calix have wanted to leave her? "The only thing that's remotely pretty about me are my ice wings and masks... But what's the point in being pretty if it doesn't bring you the one you love?"
Berry happily struggled onto Snow's face, his extended belly preventing him from making it a graceful action. He clung to her hair like sap, squeaking from the excitement. Dunixi sighed at Snow's somber reply. "You're not plain, Snow. And you are beautiful whether you want to believe it or not. But if giving yourself icey masks and wings make you feel better, then by all means... go for it. 'Cause that's all I want you to be. Happy." It was apparently too much to ask for, though. Snow's frown was contagious.

"You sound like my family." Snow sighed making sure that Berry was in a position so that he wouldn't fall off of her or something. He was probably only saying that in the first place becuase he was friends with her cousin, becuase they were friends with each other she supposed. "Then tell me Dunixi... What's wrong with me? what could make all of Calix's family hate me so much, with out even meeting me. What could make Crowley nothing but vicious towards me, and what would make Calix leave me... after saying as long as I wanted him... he'd be there for me...?" She asked. Though she doubted that he had any answers. At least nothing more than what her own family had given to herself. She breathed heavy for a minute, trying to compose herself. Not wanting to cry in front of someone other than her mother.
Dunixi watched the sad hind, not understanding the pain of a heartbreak, but the pure misery she exuded was enough to make him shiver. It wasn't the best feeling. A primitive instinct told Dunixi to flee, but even if he didn't know much, he knew that would result in the opposite of what he wanted to accomplish. "I can't answer that for you." The buck said in a whisper, hoping it was too quiet for her too hear and yet somewhat satisfying. When they arrived at the lake (or river?) Dunixi stepped in and let his hooves soak up the moisture. He turned to give Snow a gentle smile in hopes of lightening the mood. "The water is perfect." Berry muzzled into the hinds forehead, chattering delicately as if to compliment her silky hair. Then his nose twitched at the smell of the water... He perked, knowing a meal was nearbye.
Snow looked at him when he smiled at her, but there really wasn't a look on her face at all. Almost as if she was blank or void of any emotion what so ever. She lowered her head and allowed Berry to scamper down and off of her head. She lifted herself back up once the mion was gone and stepped into the water. the water around her beginning to freeze over. She stood there for a few moments and just felt the ice around her. "I wish I was like you Dunixi... Everyone wants you."
"Well, we just oughtta switch places then." Dunixi watched Berry skitter gracelessly off of Snow's face and into a bush rich with fruits. "I wish I could make water freeze with my hooves." He lifted a hoof, twirling the tip of it against the surface of the water and watching the ripples dance across the lake. "I wish I had a family... Like you and Janus and Chalice." Duni mused at the thought, a pleasent hum and a smile appearing on his lips.
Snow continued to frown as she just sort of grew quiet. She didn't much care about her ice abilities anymore. It had been something she'd used to try and impress Calix, to make him think better of her, to make him think she was worth his time. But now what did it matter? She felt her shoulders sag as she moved into the water, walking in deeper and deeper. She felt ice start to form around her, but none of it was very thick. It was all very thin ice around her... She tried to think of something pretty in her mind to make a mask for herself... But it didn't seem to work. She had no inspiration. No lovely thoughts. She closed her eyes to try and concentrate really hard before opening them a few minutes and turning to Dunxi with a slightly scared expression. "I can't think of anything pretty to make... I can't... think of any masks to wear... or wings to have... This is awful."
"You can't? Not a single thing?" Duni frowned. "Can't you just do whatcha did before? I dun understand why it's awful." Duni took a swift side-step to get closer to her, lifting a wing and stretching it across the hind's back in an attempt to comfort her. "Oh! I got an idea!" Duni giggled, thrilled with himself as he hopped to and fro, causing quite a bit of splashing in the process. "You can make wings like mine, can't you? That would be AWESOME. We could match!"
It was awful to Snow becuase her being able to create things out of ice made others happy... it was what really made her unique and special in some ones eyes... and now she couldn't even find the ability to do that... but when Dunxi offered up that idea she mulled it over for a few moments and smiled a small smile along with him. Leaning into his side in a sort of thanks for the comfort. "I like that idea... You've got lovely wings..." She told him honestly. And this way... she would be different from her sisters. rather than having those sort of spikes coming from her back... She lowered herself into the water, feeling it splash over her until finally just her head was sticking up and out of the water. She closed her eyes, evening out her breath and focused on something like what was on Dunixi's back... though her mind drifted to Calix's wings... and how soft they were. She frowned and tried to concentrate, not wanting to think of Calix now... wanting to go a moment with out him in her mind. And she saw Dunixi's wings again, and with in a few moments, the ice began to form on her back, when she raised her body up, they weren't as small or as dainty... But they were like his own.
"They look perfect... Though, not quite as great as mine." Dunixi smirked at his own joke, admiring Snow's glimmering wings. "They suit you though... I'd just look awkward with ice on me..." He grew a little distant as he indulged himself in his thoughts, stepping in the water once more just to watch the ripples make glitter dance across the surface. Berry emerged from his bush, his arms full of a variety of treats, and he squeaked and chattered to show off his findings. Duni glanced at Berry, much too deep in his thoughts to be agitated like he usually would. "That's nice, Berry..."
