Demyx nodded to Sora's rationalizing, trying to convince himself that the brunette was right. He held Sora for a little longer before releasing him. He wiped his face again, making sure all of the tears were gone. "Does it look like I've been crying?" he asked, hoping that it wasn't as bad as it felt. "I really don't want Roxas to know Axel was upset..."

Demyx laughed a little at Sora's excuse. "Yeah... That sounds about something that we'd do..," he told him with a small smile. He linked his arm with Sora's and began walking back to Roxas's room with him. when they arrived, Demyx plopped down on Roxas's bed and smiled at him. "They're still talking right now, so I have no clue when they're gonna be done," he informed him. This caused Roxas's smile to drop slightly. "Oh, okay. I'll just have to wait a little longer, then."

Roxas nodded slightly, looking downtrodden. After a few moments, he said softly, "I wonder if they're talking about me..." He messed with his fingers absently. "I was so rude when I went in there. His mom probably hates me already. Even if he does feel the same, I bet his mom won't even let us go out. She wouldn't approve of it... wouldn't approve of me."

"Come on, Roxie, don't start thinkin' like that!" Demyx piped in, ruffling his hair a little. "There's no tellin' what that woman's thinking. She's unpredictable. She may have thought it was bold of you to do what you did. She may like you a lot. You never know until they're done talking. Just try to keep being positive. Nothing'll come of thinking the worst."

Roxas nodded and smiled slightly at their words. "I guess you're right. It's just hard to keep positive. I think too much to stay positive." He pulled his knees up and rested his chin on them with a frown that could easily be called the most adorable pout in the world. "Why'd I have to fall for him? I just want a normal relationship, but I had to go and fall for possibly the sexiest redhead with the most piercing green eyes and beautiful smile in the world..." He smiled to himself. "With the crazy mother who, if given the chance, I may actually get along with..."

Roxas smiled at Sora with a small laugh. "That's true. I do appreciate a good challenge every now and then. This isn't the kind of challenge I'm used to, though. I'm used to school challenges or fights...not, ya know...love and stuff..." He blushed darkly at saying the word "love". It was a very foreign word other than family love.

Demyx giggled a little and leaped forward to hug Roxas. "You're just too cute!" he said happily with a wide grin. "I just can't take it!" At his antics, Roxas blushed more and squirmed to get him off, smiling and chuckling a little all the while.

Roxas looked up at the knock, heart speeding up as he thought Axel was here...then it dropped down to his toes when he saw his parents. ********. He skipped school... His dad was gonna be pissed. He frowned and looked up at them. He smiled softly, though, when his mom kissed his forehead and hugged him. "I'm fine, Mom," he mumbled softly. She was always so sweet. Then he heard his dad's voice. He frowned again and looked up at Cloud who looked disappointed in him. "I..," he started softly. He closed his mouth as he thought of how his father would react if he just came out as gay right then...then decided against it. "My friend Axel...got attacked at school and got put in the hospital...and he didn't fight back because I told him I didn't like him fighting... I came to visit him..," he explained softly, looking down at his lap. He was scared how his parents would react if he told them about the bet and everything. He didn't want Sora in trouble either because he was part of it...

Roxas, as usual, just sat and watched the argument play out...until Sora threatened to move out. His eyes widened as his whole body tensed up. "Sora!" he called after him, grateful to Demyx for chasing after him. His head whipped around to Cloud as soon as he told him he was leaving. "No. No, I'm not going anywhere. What is your problem with Sora, Dad? Do you even know how unfair you are to him?" he asked in an angry tone. Roxas usually didn't lash out at his father--like, at all--but this was too much. Couldn't he see that Sora was serious? "He's not a kid, Dad! We're the same age! I just happen to do better in school than him! You don't even know how smart common-sense-wise he is because you never even try to show him any affection. Try to have a heart. He might not be your son, but he is family, and he is like a brother to me. You have no idea how disappointed in you I am for how you've always treated him," he almost snarled, staring his father hard in the face. His father could ground him for all he cared. Today was not the day to mess with Roxas. His father could argue all he wanted, but Roxas was right. He knew he was right. "And you know what you're going to do with him? You're going to ******** apologize, because you're wrong for everything you just and have ever said to him. It's my fault I skipped today. He came to make sure I was okay when he found out where I went. Shocker, Dad, he was the responsible one today. You're acting more childish than he is."
