Payback was a b***h. Or a flaming horn. Or all of the above. She would show him! After that lesson (that he had doubted that she could do) Iskra began to control her fire better and better. And it never once ate her up. And then she grew faster and faster like flames eating away at dry wood.
And now she was searching for him, the familiar scent of a male, blood, and acidic smoke. Iskra ducked her head low, keeping her long horn out of the low branches. He had to be around here, she just knew it. And she wouldn't stop until she found him.

Draven stood at the mouth of the cave he had claimed his home ever since he met that pest of a fawn... By now his wounds had faded into scars, his mangled ankle healed, but there was still the ever-present fresh gashes that gave off the fumes of burning blood. A twitch of the buck's shimmering nose revealed to him that there was a fire near. A scent of flame and smoke that was distinctly different from his own.
Iskra's frequent appearance over the seasons let Draven acquire her precise scent. The last time he'd seen her, she was a yearling... nearly as large as himself. He wouldn't be surprised if she could tower over him as an adult. Apparently, now was the time to find out. Draven's red eyes searched the foliage for that familiar glowing hind.

Iskra had expected him to be out and about the forest like normal. In previous visits the older herla had tried to outwit her by moving to completely different areas or tried to hide is scent or body. It never worked. But with another deep breath of the scent of smoke and blood Iskra headed towards the cave he called home.
Silently she chucked at the thought, he now stayed in the cave she had found. The one he had pitched a fit about. With a final deep breath and a puff of smoke Iskra stepped out of the bushes into the small clearing before the cave. And there he was, how anticlimactic.
"Draven." She spoke the name as if it had a bite, a fierce name for a fiercer herla. Iskra let a light smirk play on her face. She held her head high, trying to split her attention to his reaction and her horn, trying to make it shimmer like magma. And he thought the fire would eat her.
