Styx wandered alone, occasionally bumping his nose into things. Rocks, trees, it didn't matter to him. What did matter was that he was free of the infernal wolves who had held him captive as a pup. But now he was older, bigger, wiser, and very much stronger. But he still couldn't see a ******** thing. He needed a sight-hound, for lack of a better term. A slack-jawed hussie of a female who he could bully into being his eyes, and helping him rule over this s**t forest. Yes, that would have to be his solution.
Snarling to himself, he slowed his pace, as if he were enjoying his surroundings even though he couldn't see them. As he strode along, he pondered how he would find such a wolf, how he could even get near any female looking like he did. The wolf was riddled with frightning scars, and well, there were those coins over his eyes. He still remembered the burning that day, the terrible smells. He had wished to die. But that vapid b***h Sparks had at least given a name to the metal which had been melted into his eyesockets, immediately after the humans had rooted around in his eyes with hot metal pokers. He laughed softly to himself at the memories, now that he knew what he was remembering. Life was just ******** peachy, wasn't it?
The wolf smelled something, suddenly. What luck! There was a female nearby him, and he turned halfway around and very suddenly and quickly closed his teeth around his own hind leg until he could feel the blood running free. Resisting the insane urge to laugh until he coughed, the wolf put on a distressed face, calming his snarl. "H... help me! Oh please someone... HELP" he wailed, putting on the best show of his life since playing dead to keep the humans from truly killing him.

Sophia had been wondering her whole life, she had bid her family farewell when she was little and could barely remember if she had more than a twin in her life long ago, truthfully she couldn’t remember if she bid them or if she was thrown from them. But it didn’t matter now she was on the wonder again seeing all the new sites in this area. Everything was so beautiful to her; she loved to view the world as good and bright and pure. Giggling at the thought of the wilderness being pure, Sophia focused on the sights and smells making her already happy tempo even happier.
Sophia didn’t know if she had been raised to believe this or if it was just her personality, but she didn’t like to stick with the thought long, just focus on the good. She had to believe that there was a certain amount of good in everyone, just had to but little did Sophia know that there was always a change of evil being born. Suddenly off in the distance Sophia heard a yell for help, and of course with her upbringing it caused her to dash off happy to help another, but as the scent of blood came upon Sophia’s nose her instincts fired up and she slowed her pace. What could possibly have happened for a wolf to be bleeding, out in the middle of nowhere?
Slowly Sophia’s gaze locked with that of a teen sized wolf, black and red and his eyes… Oh god, his eyes! Sophia could feel tears start to prickle at the corner of her own as she rushed forward, “Yes yes of course I’ll help! What do you need from me?” Sophia wasn’t good with medical training she only knew how to care for herself and since she never got into that many fights… Well she didn’t quite know how to deal with open bleeding wounds then now did she?

The frightening wolf continued to howl in pain as the female he had begun to capture came forward, closer still. He resisted the insane urge to quirk his lip in an evil sort of twisted smile, and instead kept the look of fear and pain. "My traveling companion." he rasped, whipping his head around frantically. It helped that he truly couldn't see - it made the mirage even more believable. He HAD been traveling with a not-so-stable wolf such as himself, not many moons ago, but had driven the brute away after a failed kidnapping attempt. Ohwell, this female would have to do. The other one was much too young anyway.
"He grew angry at me, with a maddening rage, and bit my leg. When he smelled another wolf in the area, he fled." Styx wove the story expertly, keeping it as believable as possible. He also kept himself in hysterics as much as he possibly could. It was hard to appear so afraid and frail, but he could do it. He wondered briefly if the female was even good looking, but shrugged it off when he realized it simply didn't matter to him - he would never have to look upon her face. Sadly, he would never see how truly beautiful she was, how her grey pelt would shine in the moonlight as though she were laced with silver metals. And he'd be damned if he recognized her internal beauty and grace. He had no time for that. She had to be molded to his will, and quickly.

The look of fear on the poor pups face destroyed Sophia; he was so innocent and still so young! How could any wolf do this to another? She didn’t understand it! No time to think on it for too long though, quickly enough Sophia came upon the wolf and as the teen came into view his eyes blinded Sophia of her intent to help for a moment. What happen to this poor wolf? What was wrong with his eyes? Maybe… Maybe he was born with him! Yes that had to be it. Shaking off the scary thought of his mistreatment. But those golden orbs, they took over all of the wolf’s eye balls… He couldn’t possibly see through them… Was he? Oh god, ‘This poor wolf!’ Sophia had to bite back the need to cry, she was strong she could do this!
Slowly a tear slipped out and Sophia couldn’t help but feel sorry for the poor thing before her, he needed her help so she would do her very best to do anything that would make him feel better. “What… What do you need?” Swallowing back a sob Sophia leaned into the wound to get ready to lick it, she would need to get the poor wolf food and get him to water as well that would help the wound heal better.

"I don't know." he whined, slumping to the ground. He was good at playing sluggish, good at playing dead. Yes, that is what had allowed him safety, immunity against real death. The humans who had done this to him had believed him dead, left him laying on the ground bleeding. He had escaped under darkness, when all had gone quiet.
He growled softly, and drew the bitten leg close to his belly, an illusion of safety for the leg. It did hurt, despite everything else. He wondered briefly why he had done this in the first place, but if his plans succeeded, he would soon have this wolf doing his bidding, and he would finally have eyes. The expression on his face was one of horror and fear. He seemed to plead silently 'Help me, I'm completely alone in the world.'
"Need to stop... bleeding." he wheezed and dropped his head to the ground, looking away from his leg, and the female stooped over him. He could tell by her scent that she was older than he, and thanked the darkness for that. It would mean she would almost be obligated to take a motherly stance over him, to protect him at all costs. This made him exceedingly pleased. This is what he needed, and when the moment was right, she would also become his slave.

Sophia could feel more tears threaten to spill but she choked them back to lean in and lick at the bleeding wound, she would need to do her best to help the teen move to a body of water it would help a lot then her just basically drinking all of his blood. Glancing to the helpless red and black wolf Sophia felt her heart clench, she needed to work faster and help him!
“I am going to help you just… Just um…” Gulping Sophia could taste the wolf’s blood on her tongue, in her throat stuck to her forever. Frowning Sophia shook the feeling off she had to do her best to help the poor, “I’m going to help carry you to a body of water… You… Just do yourself to stand, but not too much on the leg that’s hurt…”
Her body shook at the mere thought of the wolf hurting himself further because of her, she had to just help as much as she could.

He winced as her tongue made contact with his fresh wound, and almost passed out from the pleasure. He loved being beaten, torn at. The pain was amazing, and he starved for it constantly. He had wounded himself, but the slight nipping pain he was getting from her touch was amazing. When she told him to stand, he did, for just a moment pretending that she was his master, and he was just a slave to be beaten. Oh, yes. A shiver ran down his spine, and he shook it off carefully as he leaned on her for support to keep off his bad leg.
"Is there water near?" he whispered, his maw close to her ear. The sound was a pleading one, and he urged her forward with his own body, hoping they could walk with him leaning on her such as he was. He limped, hopping to keep himself off the leg. Oh, how he wished he could walk on it for a few moments, to feel the pain sear up his leg. It would have been glorious. But he would have to wait and see what this wolf did.
"What is your name, my angel?" he inquired, his voice deep and silken, though he made sure to keep the pain, the need, and the desperation flowing through as well.

Frowning Sophia glanced to the youngest and hoped against hope he wouldn’t pass out from the licking she was doing, he was holding up every well for such a small young wolf, she felt horrible of course for causing him any pain at all to begin with but luckily was able to bite it back and help him up and allow him to lean on her as he should. It would be a cold day in –curse- before Sophia allowed another wolf to feel pain for long while she was around, she didn’t like others to be in pain… She wanted to help to care, to love and be sweet.
And this wolf was most certainly sweet in her book and deserved far more then he was getting it seemed. Nodding to the question Sophia felt bad right away for not answering out loud and forgetting that he couldn’t see her nod, “Yes there is… A bit far but it’s worth it.” She had been out and about for a good week and thankfully remembered an area where there was water to be had.
Blushing at the sound of the poor wolf’s voice Sophia gulped back her answer, “Sophia…” He sounded so thankful of her, she was so happy to have been the one to help him. What if no one had done so and he had been alone forever in the woods… To di- ‘No! Think… positively!’ Smiling Sophia nodded, “And yours?” maybe talking would help the wolf focus on the task at hand instead of the pain… ‘Hopefully.’

"Styx" he spoke through gritted teeth as the pair moved together through the woods. She had said it was far, and he wondered if she had a pack or home near here. It wouldn't be good if he exacted his plans on her only to have an angry pack after his skin. He limped along with the female in silence for a while, before speaking again, suddenly.
"Do you have a pack or... family?" he asked, looking up at her with a mournful expression. He wasn't sure how well the expression worked, since the eyes were largely the windows to the soul. He hoped she could see he was really hurting. Not that he was, but you know.
"I don't have anything... no home, my family was brutally murdered. Sometimes I just cry..." he spoke as though he was pouring his soul out to her, hoping she believed his well-played rouse of emotion and sadness. He wondered what would happen if something did make him cry. There was little room around the coins seared to his flesh for tears to escape. Would the fluid back up in his eye sockets and put pressure on his brain, causing a serious injury? He wanted to laugh at the thought, but stifled the noise quickly as he walked and waited for her to answer him, to react to him.

Frowning Sophia had to hold back tears, she had to be strong for the young one… He had been through so much! And now this? No… never again, she wasn’t going to allow that somehow it was her destiny to help this boy more. Toughing it up for Styx Sophia shook her head and helped the wolf along, “No… No I don’t have anyone, I left my pack. I think…”It was the truth though Sophia mumbled the last part, it was sad thinking back to that time, thinking that she was alone now forever…
She knew that if needed and if she tried to go back to her pack at any time it would be hard since it was so far away and she didn’t even know if her family was alive still and now with this beaten wolf alone in the world like her? She couldn’t go back, wouldn’t. “I am like you, alone… Only less….” What was a nice way of saying beaten?
“Only more family oriented.” It was true, she remembered her twin, ‘Only less beaten and destroyed…’ It was just rude of her to point out things that were obvious to the naked eye, ‘Oh crap he can’t see either!’ Biting her tongue Sophia looked on a head, it was a bit far but it would be worth it.

Styx took all the information she was feeding him in, filing it away in his brain for later use. Very interesting, she had left her pack of her own accord. He wondered what had made her do such a thing, but that was a question for another time. She still believed he was suffering from his leg wound. True, it still burned with pain, but it was a gloriously pleasureful pain, to Styx.
After what seemed like an eternity of keeping up his fake limp, Styx could smell the water ahead of them. Ahh, so she could be trusted to find things, at least. She had passed the first test. Good girl, Sophia. He thought to himself.
"I smell it, is it true?" he managed a slight grin, showing a very restrained look of hope, turning his face to that of the bigger wolf's. His mouth was a bit dry, and he realized that he would enjoy this water more than the last he had partaken of. It wasn't such a good idea to keep ignoring his body's needs - he was no good to himself if he was dehydrated or starving, after all.

Nodding Sophia picked up the pace, remembering at the last minute though that Styx couldn’t see, “Yes right ahead of us, just a bit more.” Sophia felt bad that she kept forgetting about this poor wolf’s wounds, scars and so much more… He needed someone and Sophia would do her best to put herself there for the boy, if he allowed her after all she couldn’t just step right up and assume anything.
As her mother always said, ‘When you assume, you make an a** out of you and me.’ It was an odd saying that Sophia didn’t personally like saying out loud but it reminded her never to jump to conclusions.
“Sorry if I’m pushing you…” Should she bring up her thought now on moving on with him to new lands? They would need to find more wolves, it would be a given… Or maybe not, maybe Sophia could finally grow up and do this! ‘Yes! Yes I can…’ Gulping Sophia could feel her own pressure already start to weigh down on her, and she hadn’t even asked if Styx would allow her company for much longer…

"No, no" he spoke and smiled softly. "I'll be alright, now that we're here." he urged them closer to the water, eager to be in its calming embrace. He could sit in the water and let her clean his wound, and they could bond. Exactly how he had it planned, so far.
As he could hear the gentle lapping of the wind driving the water to shore, the wolf broke away from his 'savior' and limped his way carefully into shallow water. "If you could help me clean my leg up?" he asked sheepishly, awkwardly. He had never accepted help before, so it was easy to play out this part of his plan. He eased himself into the water, lapping at it gently with his tongue, savoring the coolness as it ran down his throat. For being in a world of darkness, there were a lot of things still to be appreciated with the other senses, and Styx thought that was alright in his book.

Rushing to Styx’s side Sophia nodded wildly, “Yes yes of course I will help you with anything you need hun.” The hun slipped out and hopefully Styx didn’t notice because Sophia was now doing her best to ignore the fact that she just called this poor and broken creature but such famine name would surely be insulting. She couldn’t ignore it though and doing so would be rude on her part and she couldn’t have the air so thick with her rudeness be the only thing floating around.
“I am so sorry I didn’t mean to say that! It… it just slipped out please let me help you.” She was such a horrible helper, why was it whenever she was given something to fix she just messed it up in the long run? And this was looking to be such a wonderful friendship in her eyes, he would surely not wish to be around someone so… Vocally clumsy.

The dark wolf felt the ripples lap against his heated body as she rushed to his side. She was so eager to help him, and this caused him to smile. The female wouldn't know just how evil his intentions were until much later, when she couldn't possibly rip herself away. Pleasant.
"Thank you so much." he said, ignoring her apologies outright. That would be the best course of action for now, he believed, as they played this game of lynx and wolf. "I felt so terribly alone, even with my travelling companion... before you came along and saved me." he managed to sound a bit choked up, heartfelt. How did he manage this? It was surprising to himself, having felt no love or care towards or from anything in his life. It was enough to cause him to shiver in delight.
"I just... had to say that, to thank you." he spoke sweetly, turning head head to her, so that she could see his face, as terrifying as it must be. He would make her love that face, depend on it being there every waking moment. In return, she would live like she was dying.
