First, the item in the store may be removed eventually(it has happened before, afterall), which makes it easier to sell in the Marketplace at higher prices. Second, they could be trying to make some gold. Some choose to use only Marketplace to buy from because it helps the economy move along. You're giving gold to other Gaians, and they're giving you an item. The gold they get, they'll buy an item with, and the process continues. :3 』
