Lullaby had been traveling for a very long time. He had moved from his pack in the night, not wanting to alert any of them that he was moving on. It wasn't that he disliked any of them - they had taken good care of him, in fact. It was the feelings of being a burden that had made him slip away alone. He hated the feeling that everyone was contributing but him, but he felt as though he couldn't function, so he fled.
After days of walking, the wolf had started to limp on his bad leg, years of scar tissue becoming inflamed at the extra motion. He sighed to himself that maybe he had made a poor decision. Where was he going, anyway? Was he past the point of no return? Was it continue on and find a place to live, or turn back towards the YMCA pack and die trying to get back? He had no idea, so he simply carried on in the same direction. Southward.
It was very early in the morning, and the purple streaks of twilight were just coming through the clouds. Stars kept twinkling in the sky, though they were now subdued as the sun made its way lazily up. The world had taken on a blue hue as it did every morning at this hour. The average-sized male froze, suddenly acutely aware that he smelled lots of other wolves, and territorial marks. He was still limping, and sore all over now, and had found himself accidentally trespassing. "Well s**t." he mumbled, limping on. He hoped to whatever gods existed that this pack was friendly.

Lilith didn’t feel the normal scope of emotions when on the job first hand, she didn’t feel nervous didn’t feel weak or not up to it nor did she feel excited she simply knew for a fact that she could do her job better than any other wolf Sam, her alpha, could ever accept in this pack. It wasn't like this really was her first mission, she had been able to keep the area clear of a wolf from the pack over the lake, it was simple enough but the pup seemed a bit out of it. Was that after or before he had been deep within their caves, inwhich she still hasn't been fully through yet.
The passing thought didn't still Lilith in her mission to make the area secure, and taking account into what was going on around her in the wooded area Lilith knew when she smelt a trespasser was it hard for other wolves to know that they were in new lands?
Not allowing the thought to stay for more than a moment Lilith crouched towards the ground and headed off in the direction of the scent. The other wolf was male and seemed slow in his direction towards their pack. Letting off a silently warning growl Lilith came upon the other, the view of him made Lilith cringe for a moment. This was the trespasser? He would do little to no damage and seem to be in damage himself.
Standing at her full height Lilith stared the other purple wolf down, “You are invading an area in which you do not reside, are you injured? I will help if needed.” Her voice expressed little to no emotion but it’s not like Lilith took notice to that she just wished to fix this wolf and let him on his way. Unless on the small chance that he was pack less then it would be her duty to accept him into her new pack.

Lullaby froze upon hearing the voice ahead of him. He lifted his head a bit to see her, hoping she wouldn't be too big, or angry looking. "You could say I am." he spoke, his voice barely above a whisper. It wasn't that he was being insolent, it was more that his jaw had healed badly from being broken. "I've no home, no companionship." he explained, short and to the point. He wasn't a wolf of many words, believing that there was no point in wasting breath and energy flapping your jaws.
His leg hurt badly, and he limped forward a bit, wondering if it would be polite to sit, since he was so hurting. This wolf maybe wasn't the alpha of the pack he had trespassed into, but she was comparable, maybe a beta. Maybe in charge for now? He had learned to read body language easily, and knew the signs he needed to know to stay alive. " 'm sorry for invading, miss~" he trailed off, she hadn't offered him a name, yet.

Frowning Lilith glanced over the purple wolf’s body, he seemed limping a bit and weak. A lone wolf? Calculating the amount of risk she could bring into her new pack Lilith stepped forward, “I will help you back to the current pack you are trespassing on.” It would be better to heal him then question him if she were to add him into the pack. Stepping forward Lilith got as comfortable close to the wolf as possible; she wasn’t one to have cuddled with her family when younger so being close was a new thing to the beta female.
“You may contact me by my name, Lilith.”

The pale wolf froze up as she came closer. Her way of speech was strange and foreign, but he figured if she was willing to help him, she couldn't be too terrible. "Lilith, huh." he smiled a bit, a crooked expression was all he could manage. His speech was still very quiet - he had managed to loosen himself up when he lived with the YMCA pack, but after his journey from there to here, he had locked up again from never talking. Ohwell. Maybe some day he would meet the right wolf to keep him talking enough to really loosen his locked jaw.
"My name is Lullaby." he dipped his head in a sort of bow. He wondered if this pack had heard the myth surrounding him - the one he had dedicated his life to figuring out. Well, half his life anyway. He still had to figure out what the hell had happened to him, to break his jaw and deeply scar his leg. His tail was also a cause for concern; he simply couldn't remember if it had been this short upon birth, or if his attacker had ripped it off in the fray. It never hurt, and he figured that since his other past injuries often did, maybe he had just been born short-tailed.
"Pleased to meet you, Lilith." he extended the courtesy. "And thank you." spoke more quietly.

Shrugging Lilith ignored the small talk that Lullaby seemed to try and created between them, she didn’t care for speaking if it wasn’t important. Thinking for a moment Lilith could spend the next few moments trying to work through a reasonable way to favor the small talk but that would take up too much time and if he wished for her to question him now she would do so. “Right yes, you are welcome.” Nodding Lilith glanced around, she knew how to get back easily it was just mapping the area for either the longest line of questioning or simple easy then more questioning later at the center of the pack lands.
“How did you come about these parts? You must have seen that you were entering a new pack land, unless you have never been near one before. Are you a lone wolf?” there was a lot more questions that had to be asked but Lilith kept it to the most important and the one right off the top of her head.

Lullaby nodded and squirmed a bit nervously as he watched the female look around. He also took the chance to look around. How had he not realized? It was a very sudden change, had he been lost in his own thoughts? That was probably it.
"I just picked a direction, I've been traveling so long without coming across any other packs that I didn't even realize until it was too late." he answered directly, not seeing the point in telling lies to better his situation. What would that gain, anyway?
He liked that this female was short and to the point. It served it's purpose, and he found a sort of kindred feeling towards her. As he did look around, though, he realized that the majority of the area seemed to be jagged rock faces. Where did this pack actually spend their time?

Nodding Lilith didn’t have a reason to doubt the wolf, there was one reason though but it didn’t make sense for him to lie or make up such a horrid lie that just seemed like the truth. Glancing around Lilith helped the wolf along, might as well head back to the entrance, if anything she might have just been able to confuse this wolf as to how to leave.
“I have been traveled as well; it does not explain your injuries. If you explain their reasoning I can better help you cure them.”

"They're old wounds, irritated by my journey here." he explained. "My jaw was broken and healed incorrectly, leaving me unable to speak above a whisper. I'm not sure what happened to my leg." he left his tail out of it, there was no need to speak on it if he had no idea of the origin of the missing half.
He also still hadn't figured out what had attacked him, or what he had attacked, that had caused his extensive injuries. He knew how he had lived, and that was also how he came about the white paint on his fur that never seemed to wash off. The circle around his eye, and the handprint on his hip were from the human native who had cared for him and kept him alive.
There had been only so much the human could have done, and finally the male had been chased away with rocks thrown at him. He still wondered about that day, about why the native had gone mad and chased him from their happy union of wolf and man.

Nodding Lilith was tempted to question further but truly couldn’t think past the questions she already stated, the answers seemed fair and understandable enough. “I will do my best to heal what wounds I can, my knowledge is vast when it comes to taking care of the health of other wolves.”
This made her think, she had always been a go to fighter in her old pack but it was truly after she left that she realized she wanted to heal others. Perfection could easily be achieved if she was the only in control of fixing up the situation. Already Lilith was thinking up ways to fix this wolf, she could re-break his jaw and set it properly, his leg was another story… She would have to massage it thoroughly to see what damage had been done, hopefully nothing as bad as his jaw.
“I believe I have a plan to fix your jaw, if it so pleases you to do so.”

The purple wolf nodded, smiling again. This seemed like a good start, at least. He hoped she could fix his wounds. "I would love to know how you intend to fix me." he flirted a bit, though it may not have been obvious between the two awkward wolves. "My leg is the worst of my pains, though my jaw causes an inability to eat larger prey." he explained, giving her more information on his plight.
"My jaw?" he pondered aloud as they walked. He was hungry, but didn't say so for now. He really just wanted to get to know this wolf a bit better, and to see the packlands that he might be invited into. It was odd for him to think that he was being offered a new home after leaving his old one so abruptly, but this wolf didn't know a thing about that. He found Lilith an intriguing creature, and couldn't wait to get to know her a bit better, if she would let him.

Nodding Lilith continued her pondering, “I will have to reset the bone by re-breaking the original jaw fraction. It will hurt a lot but in the long run will help your functions as a wolf.” Lilith found her own doctoring to be completely understandable and good to set into motion when Lullaby is ready, pain wasn’t a big deal to Lilith so she just ignored any of the complaints that were usually heard when her pack was assimilating another.
“Your leg I will have to massage and if worse comes to worse I will have to open it back up. If the damage is as bad as I think it is I might have to reset something in your hind muscles.” Without flinching Lilith continued on with her research aloud, this could be a great chance to further her studies into the perfection qualities of healing.

The wolf cringed a bit as she spoke about his jaw being rebroken. "How would I feed myself while it healed?" he inquired, not trying to be annoying about it. A human had helped keep him alive the first time it had happened - he wondered if wolves could, or would even be willing, to do the same the second time around. He wondered if he might get infected and die as a result. Could he put that much trust in a wolf he had barely met? One who seemed a bit... devoid of emotion?
The leg, on the other hand, sounded good until she expressed concerns about having to open his leg up and resetting his muscles. How... terrifying. His leg, he may be willing to try to fix though, if it meant he might be able to run with wolves again.
"I'm interested, for the time being, in your treating my leg." he extended, hoping they were soon to be near a safe place to rest and begin his treatment. As they drew closer to the jagged rock face, he wondered still where the pack lived, and if he would be able to deal with it.

Lilith brought the injured wolf into her new home, the Hollow Earth’s dens. It was easy enough to figure out which way to go and which den to use but for now Lilith wished to keep the purple male in her den, it would be easier that way to look after his wounds while she worked with them to heal. “Eating will be easy, I am the Beta so I can easily hunt for you and care for your physical needs while your wounds heal under my care.” It was as simple as that in Lilith’s head, pain was no big deal, eating was no big deal, training was her biggest deal. She wanted perfection and by the gods she would do her very best to get it done.
“Your leg will still hurt but maybe not as much as your jaw. I will have to find something for you to bite on while I to an external massage first and foremost.” Taking the wolf in the general direction of her den Lilith gestured for him to enter, “Wait in there while I find something for you to bite on.”

The bigger male took in the scents of the den as he entered the cavernous mountain, completely surprised by the whole thing. The way they had entered, he would have never thought was even going to go anywhere. The bush seemed to sit right up against the impenetrable mountain, but there he was, in the very heart of such a strong and unmoving thing.
He was ushered into the female's den, and he felt a sort of cold chill run down his spine as she left to find something for him to bite. When he heard the word massage, the words pain and suffering didn't enter into it, but then again, his pain was so old and deeply ingrained into his leg, that it would have to hurt if it was ever to get better.
The wolf took a deep breath, taking in the scents of the others who lived here. If Lilith were the beta, then the secondary beta would have to be somewhere near, and the alpha as well. He would have to find out sooner or later, yes? For now though, the wolf limped towards the back wall of her spacious den, sitting down momentarily to await her return.
