Saileithe

The surrounding area was small in stature to suite the young Eevee; which she didn't mind at all. In fact, it was preferred and the lighting was a low, dimmed orange. The surrounding walls housing hundreds of books of countless topics. They held no order despite their neatness.
In the center of the books; across from her doorway rested a pillowy mat of which she slept on and a window a small ways above it.

Sai resided in her room-- her first night here and all of which was finally settled in. All but her mind. She laid on her mat with her front paws hugging against her chest which faced the ceiling and her tail limply off to the side.
She stared up at the ceiling in the silence of her room. Her mind going through all of her recent issues between her family, the war and soon her ending up in an unknown place at the cost of begging.
She wasn't entirely oblivious though. She hasn't spoken to anyone, she hasn't met Solaris, she hasn't even decided to find a partner yet but this kingdom's situation was nothing unheard of and coming from her, it wasn't shocking. She was eager to learn more. Eventually.

She closed her eyes for a moment and sighed. "I'm going to have to get started here soon... But it means traveling... How boring." She made a quiet snort and her tail made a quick flick at the ground.
"Do I have to? Can't I just stay here and be a living library? I doubt it. This place looks strict. I've seen younger members too so my age won't get me anywhere as an excuse. Figures." Sai spent some time debating with herself, ruling possible and impossible options as she could not sleep.

Saileithe~Epitaph

Epitaph knocked on Sai’s door to her room, her eyes directed at the ground until her ears perked at the sound of the door opening and Sai stood in the path, staring up at her mother blankly.

“Y-Yes?”

“Hello Sai, how are you? I’d like to talk.” Epitaph smiled down at her daughter as she nodded and moved back into the room followed by her mother whom closed the door after entering.

Sai’s room was quiet and dim as always. Books scattered everywhere and piled high, windows covered.
Light was harmful to books. She didn’t need anything damaged and it’s not like she liked the light much anyway. The dim, orange glow was far more relaxing.

Sai sat on her bed and looked back at her mother as she sat on the floor before taking a breath and configuring her thoughts.

“Sai, have you ever exactly considered evolution?”

Sai blinked. Of course, who hasn’t? She wanted to since she got here—she had issues to fix. Her eyes narrowed and her ears lowered after a moment.

“Yes. Yes mother, of course I have.” Her tone was rather angered. “Ever since you gave me to Bellith—who died and I ended up here in this body 10 years ahead of what I should be.”

Epitaph’s expression saddened slightly. She figured Sai would grudged as much as that, but honestly she kind of had the right to.
“It wasn’t like we wanted Bellith to die. It happened out of our control—Darius understands that as well.”

As if he wanted to. He had to.

We acted because we had to—No, I acted because I had to. It’s not like your father cared much about much else but the throne…” Her voice faded out and Sai twitched slightly before fighting off some memories.

“Mom, why are you here?” Get to the point, get it over with, and leave her dead father in his firey grave.

Epitaph looked down at her bracelet before working it off her paw and handing it to Sai. Sai look at it blankly before looking back at her mother.

“My mother told me to keep that safe, or use it to become a Glaceon… As you can see, I preferred to keep it safe but I’d like to hand it down to you instead.”

Sai’s head tilted. This was an evolutionary stone? She thought it was just a rock… Her expression weakened slightly as her mother spoke. Honestly, she never met her grandmother but she assumed something had happened… otherwise she would have met her grandmother long ago, right? They always had family meetings.

“She was very kind and wanted the best for me.”

Epitaph smiled slightly. “She wouldn’t have wanted me to be paired with someone like your father, but he turned out the way he did and I turned out the way I did. If you want to use this stone, I’d be glad to give it to you. I assume evolution will fix your body and at least you’ll get something you want in the end. I just want something to make up for all that’s happened before.”

Sai stared down her mom in a mixture of surprise and wonder. This was… very unlike her. In the end, she sighed and smiled at her mother.
“I’ll evolve then.”

Epitaph smiled and nodded at her daughter as she took the stone in her mouth and trotted out of the room.

Saileithe -- Ver --- Freya --- Alice

The four sat in a mostly awkward silence as the situation was laid out before them. Sai and Freya looked nothing short of shock, whereas Ver maintained a stern mellowness and Alice just looked exhausted. Sai was the first to break the silence as she looked about their table. Someone had to and Freya seemed too unresponsive. Deca died? How?
"So the little freak finally attacked us? It sounds odd. Hasn't he always just thrown his pawns at us?" "Guess he finally snapped. I don't know what's going to happen next time that alarm goes off. Who's to say we'll even get that far?" Ver was on edge with it all. He followed the events closely since he came here and this was too far. Way too much happened. Would they even have a guild next time that alarm rang... well, it wouldn't surprise him. The Flareon sighed, resting his head on the table with his paws over his head. His broken one, that Sai had already patched up seemed to twist slightly in a way it clearly wasn't supposed to. Alice looked at him and frowned before looking over at Sai and Freya.
"With the hospital being brought down, as I've mentioned, that leaves me alone." "You're always welcome to stay here, Alice." "Yeah... I hoped for as much, thank you." Alice smiled slightly. She was too tired to put effort into anything. She looked borderline traumatized between what happened to her team, the guild in general, and Aire and Anues.

"So, what's the plan then?" Sai eyed her team idly. All of them looked at her rather lost. Ver shook his head from atop the table. "We just keep doing what we're doing. If anyone wants to leave, leave, it won't get any easie--"
"Which brings me to my next point." "What now?" "Ver, you're team leader now." The Flareon's ears twitched. Sai remained unfazed. "What? Do you expect me to do anything? I'm too sick for this-- for all of this." And her point held true. Sai looked older and older as time went on and every attack just made her look so much weaker. They were all aware of her situation so naturally, there was no response.
"...Right. Right, I'll do it. It's fine." Ver broke the silence after a moment. He more or less ran the team anyway. Now it was merely official. Sai nodded. "Good then." Alice smiled at the Eeveelutions. For some reason, she felt as if a burden was lifted given permission to leave, but she couldn't. It wasn't in her to do it. The Kirlia stared off thoughtfully before her attention reeled toward Sai as the ice type removed herself from the table and headed toward the door. "Going out, I'll be back whenever." "Should I tell Anues to keep an eye on you?" "Isn't he hurt?" "Never said he'd have to move." Sai was still, looking at the Kirlia before simply shrugging and continuing on her way. "I'm sure he's already there. Mom's on his a** about it. Later." Her voice echoed from the hall, making Alice smile.
The kid was weird as hell, Alice told her he often kept tabs on others without having to physically be there. He did it to mom as well so she's told. It couldn't have been that bad. Get in trouble and a Gardevoir comes out of nowhere to save you. Works for her.

Those left went back to staring at each other, figuring all the bases were covered. They all seemed to be in agreement.
"Alright Alice. Let's set you up here."
"Okay."
"I'm going out too."
"Shouldn't you rest?"
"Because of this? I'd rather go out. Been meaning to say hi to Ivy too."
Freya smirked. Ver stared at her before sharply turning away and walking off. Alice blinked. "Well! Let's see what we can do for you..."

The small box that Alice had brought home with her (at some point or another) silently glowed.
A small lock appeared on the front, though without a key. A small note, however, was slipped inside the lock.

You'll find a good ally, guardian and above all else friend in the one who holds the key. They won't be hard to find.

Random 1-17 four times, no rerolls. You get a free recruit in your next mission up to stage 3 of any of those types, excluding legendaries. You may place an item of your choice within the box, but be reasonable.
