One of these days Shriek was going to fix her hearing, she was going to destroy anything and everything that got in her way. She had started wondering and had never seem to stop, her legs were starting to hurt but it wasn’t like she could focus long enough to remember where and why her legs hurt she just assumed she had gotten into a fight and she could easily just ignore that pain if it wasn’t broken; and it certainly wasn’t broken if she could still walk.

Where had she come from, hadn’t she been part of a pack? No, that couldn’t be she would have easily attacked them all and they would have killed her she just knew it… so then what had she been doing? How much time had passed? Maybe a few months? No she looked older, much more grown….

Mumbling to herself Shriek couldn’t let herself stop talking; she had to make sure that she could continually hear never at one moment did she not want to hear.

He shifted silently through the night, his favorite time to travel. He was feeling fairly confident lately, especially after whooping the a** of a slightly larger wolf, which was unusual for him. He rarely picked fights with wolves that were larger, but that particular one had been a bit dense in the head. His blood had been sweet and his flesh had been succulent, though it was rare he ever indulged in the flesh of his fellow species.

He was feeling high on life and power. It was a sensation he lusted for and it was something he could only receive by taking for others, rather forcefully. Though his stomach was full, even slightly distended from gorging on the other's flesh, he had a hunger for something. Something that would fuel that euphoric feeling that he so desperately sought.

He froze as a sound caught his attention, although it was faint. Coupled with a strange scent, one that was female, one that was alluring. Curious and interested, he altered his course and sought out the one that carried such a scent. He caught sight of her from a hiding place amongst the bushes, though her dark pelt almost caused him to miss her. It was her silver markings that stood out and he grinned broadly.

Mumbling to herself Shriek repeated the amount of months and days she thought she had been out on her own, and it had been wrong. She still couldn’t pin point what she had been through what had been going on with her life and what she could have been a part of, had she been able to be part of a pack? It might have… No! Packs are for the weak she wouldn’t have lowered herself to be part of such a holy union and greeting. She would have attacked them all in their sleep anyway, all the silent ones… Everything would have been so silent…

Growling Shriek could feel the leaves crunch under her paws as she walked but she couldn’t hear the noise she made. She needed that noise what wanted that vibration of sound against her ears… But it never came! Growling louder Shriek was able to hear her own warnings, that was good… that calmed her, just a slightest bit.

But she couldn’t pay attention or focus long enough to notice anyone around her, and she knew she had that weakness she knew she should be focusing on her surroundings but her hearing… She had to fix her hearing!

Interesting...

She hadn't noticed him. Not that he was easy to notice, despite the red, almost demonic, markings across his face. His pelt was blacker than black, as if it absorbed light instead of reflecting it like that of a normal pelt. It was wonderfully perfect, in his opinion, as if he was a shadow. He loved to slink about at night, blending in with the atmosphere, and his pelt helped a great deal with that. But enough about his fur, which he often gloated upon.

This wasn't about his fur.

This was about the stranger.

She seemed oddly familiar, as if he knew her from somewhere. It occurred to him that he probably didn't, yet his mind continuously tried to place her. It was as if she had been part of a pack he had been in. Or maybe she held territory he had once passed through. It didn't even occur to him that he had never even remotely belonged to a pack, so the first couldn't be possible. In his mind, anything was possible. In a way, he too was as broken as she, if not more so. Instead of forgetting, he simply couldn't remember correctly. His mind was plagued with ever shifting, false memories that he firmly believed in, regardless of how far fetched.

They were so real.

Her constant noise making amused him. What was wrong with her? He purposely shifted his direction to snap a twig he had spied with his black, soulless eyes. The crack wasn't loud, nor was it soft. He would wait to see what her reaction was.

Absorbing the sounds she was making Shriek’s body started to relax, all would be well she just knew it… Part of her some how knew she would find a way to fix her, or maybe a way to fix her was already here and she didn’t need to find it? But life didn’t work that way, she reminded herself everyday of her hearing of her problems of her inability to remember and her inability to hear probably and how it was forever slipping through her paws. Would she ever be normal, would she be able to enjoy life in the nosiest part of the forest? Kill the small and hunt the weak, drain their blood like it was paint for the humans…

The humans? Did she remember the humans or was it just a passing thought? They deserved to die… Whatever and whoever they were. Suddenly an itch to her left and a quick leg kick got rid of it, her boy was on fire from the sudden need for sound from the almost teasing noise she had gotten from her own growling.

Her ear perked at the faintest sound that wasn’t her own; could it have been the forest? Her growling came back loud and clear and already she was up and her body twitching to run forward, she needed loudness!

Her reactions were amusing.

Silently, he stuck to the shadows. He was circling about her, trying to get ahead. His pelt bristled and his hackles lifted, but he fought the urge to growl. He had this want to test his limits. To see what he could get away with. His assumption was that she must be hard of hearing or daft in the head, one or the other. She looked tense, as if she was going to take off. Of course, he wasn't going to let her go this easily. She was his, after all. Wasn't she? He was certain she was. She had belonged to him at some point or another. The nerve of her taking off like she had! Gah...

He didn't stop until he was directly ahead of her, silently skulking as he debated his next movement. Grinning fiendishly, he tried to position himself within the shadows to make it appear that only a furious face loomed ahead, not a wolf. He hoped his idea worked, if only because he loved scaring the s**t out of others. He deliberately snapped a drying leaf to get her attention.

Shriek took in a deep breaths, the sound of air rushing past her teeth pleasing to her ears to her body, so pleasing it was able to relax her for just a moment. Her paws needed the ground, pawing one leaf after another hoping for the slightest amount of sound to crack through her dyeing ear drum. Maybe if she made enough noise she could easily gain her hearing back, maybe she could make others scream for her in fear and that would work? The world had such a high pitch, it was beautiful when one of them was in pain and screaming for dear life, that was when she could truly hear; that moment.

Her ears snapped in the direction of a loud snap, her head following the direction… Her fur flattened against her back and her body shivered with the dread of finding another she wasn’t prepared to fight, she would have to prepare herself. Growling Shriek stood her eyes trying to focus on where the sound came from, rushing back and further when suddenly her ears landed on that of- What the hell was that!?

It was so quiet and Shriek hadn’t quiet! Growling loudly Shriek took a step back, “What do you want!”

"I want you."

His voice was silky smooth and the red patterns that marred his face moved slightly in the darkness, accented by the rays of moon light that filtered through the tree's leaves. She should know. Did she not recognize him? How couldn't she? She had hurt him before, but that wouldn't happen again. He wouldn't let that happen again. She belonged to him, after all. What kind of wolf was he if he let his belongings walk all over him? It was unthinkable.

"You have to come back. You shouldn't have left me. Shouldn't have run away. That sort of thing gets a wolf into trouble. Come back to me, Silvermask. It will do absolutely no good to run away." He cackled quietly, his tail hiked and wagging with almost a gleefulness. She thought she could get away, ha!

Frowning Shriek shook her head wildly, what was this wolf talking about? Silvermask? Did she know him? Is this what she had been doing with the time she couldn’t remember? He seemed powerful enough and Shriek would never go forth with another wolf unless he was powerful. Growling Shriek shook her head, no she didn’t have any pull towards him her mind wasn’t going in a circle remembering all the time she had spent with him… He was lying! He had to be!

“No! You have…” Bark, “The wrong wolf!” She would kill him if need be, he got to close too quickly though he would probably easily take her down… He was unharmed but she was nearly deaf.

Growling Shriek took another step back, she could win this convince him she was leaving and make him make the first move… Her mind hurt as she looked at him, his features taunting her almost, and his pure black pelt was so hypnotizing had she been with him? Was her name Silvermask? Growling Shriek shook her head, she couldn’t allow him to get the upper hand! She could take him down, she just knew it!

"Silly female, you can't even remember something like that?" There was a slight growl to his voice as he stepped further back into the shadows. He doubted he could hide his facial markings from her, now that he had blown his cover, but that didn't mean he couldn't try. He shifted towards her right, trying to be as silent as possible, in yet another attempt to startle her. Whether it worked or not, he honestly didn't care. He just knew that he had to get his point across some way or another.

"You must be slipping worse than I thought. Never mind, you will remember soon enough. A shame, you had so much promise." He cackled as he neared her, blatantly showing himself once more. If it was a fight she wanted, it was a fight she would get. Damned wolf shouldn't have let herself get stolen away. It was her own fault, really, and here he was having to fix things yet again. b***h would come with him, whether she wanted to or not.

Growling Shriek couldn’t help but smile at her plan coming into action, if she had known him then he wasn’t important enough to be remembered a second time that was his fault not hers! Letting out a laugh shriek liked the feel of the vibrations of her own laugher, it was a nice feeling a wholesome need for future plans. A shiver ran down her spine as she took another step backwards his black pelt coming into view, his markings the only thing standing out among him.

Taking a bite of the air Shriek couldn’t help but wish she was biting into that beautiful flesh, dark red consuming his fur instead of that black… He’d be angry then, and that would be a fight Shriek would enjoy. This back and forth was something shriek hated but if it meant to win she would do it and follow through, she could attack when she saw his weakness she would rip out his throat and laugh as he screamed in pain.

And oh would he be screaming… So loudly.

He wasn't really the hesitating sort when a mood came over him. Especially when he wasn't afraid. For some reason, he didn't feel threatened by Shriek. Maybe he should have, but he felt so high on life that he seemed to think he was almost impenetrable. He had to make that feeling last.

"So... Delicious~ You will remember."

And that was the only warning he gave as he charged forward silently, aiming to sink his fangs into her shoulder, if he could manage it. He was so eager to do some damage, to make her pay for waltzing out of his life for no apparent reason. Oh, he wanted her to suffer. She would do just that, if he had any say so in it. Her whimpers and yowls would be music to his dark ears.

Growling Shriek’s head went to the side aiming her own fangs forward instead of guarding her body, she would ignore any wound that was created upon her form, she would do her best to do as much damage as possible so she could slowly and painfully kill him; and then she would absorb every sound he made as she tortured him. Her teeth shined in the light and her body twitched to fight, to claw and to rip this being apart.

There would be much blood shade between them that must was for dure.

She wasn't bothering to protect herself. This was both interesting and dangerous.

That thought passed through his mind as he sank his fangs into the muscles of her shoulder, just fractions away from her throat. The feeling of the powerful bite and the taste of copper blood on his fangs was euphoric. This feeling was brief, however, as pain shot through his back, just above his own shoulder. No yelp escaped him and, instead, he clamped down harder before releasing and thrashing to get away. Looked like he would have to defend himself if she wasn't going to bother to do the same for herself. He could possibly inflict some damage, if she continued that way, but her lack of concern for herself worried him.

Wolves like that were loose cannons.

He pulled away, snarling as his black eyes sized her up.

Shriek held back her own yelp as she felt pain shoot through her system this was amazing! She could feel and hear everything, her blood rushed through her open wound and Shriek eyed the black male up for another attack. What was he planning? She had tasted blood like no other with this wolf; maybe she had known him… And maybe she had left because he was weak; no strong wolf would have allowed a hit like her bite to land on him; at least in her mind they wouldn’t.

Growling Shriek stalked back and forth trying to figure out this wolf, her neck pained her and she didn’t have a need to make as much noise as before… She forced her mind to forget the wound and continue on, she had to win. Had to! Her white eyes shined with intent to kill, this was going to last… and that was her favorite kind of fight.
